تحذير الشيخ ربيع حفظه الله تعالى من عبدالعزيز البرعي
السلام عليكم
يحضر الشيخ عبدالعزيز البرعي إلى بريطانيا وبالتحديد إلى مدينة ليستر وذلك في آخر هذا الشهر بهدف حضور دورة يقيمها مركز طيبة الإسلامي الذي سبق أن حذرنا منه ,ولقد إتصل أخونا أبو همام الليبي اليوم بالشيخ ربيع وأخبره, وقد حذر الشيخ من حضور دروس هذا الرجل , وكان مما قال الشيخ أن عبدالعزيز البرعي قد تراجع عن توقيعه عن بيان مشايخ اليمن , وقد أذن الشيخ بنشر هذا التحذير على الإنترنت , والذي يريد التأكد عليه الإتصال بالشيخ.

I think it would be better to spell his name 'Bura'ee'. And Allaah knows best.

Just to highlight date of the first quote above that the brother has posted is July 2002, and this was when `Abdul-`Azeez al-Bura`ee was wavering on the stance on Abul-Hasan and not showing a consistent position. So perhaps Shaykh Rabee` said those words then in light of that, but as for now, perhaps he needs to be recontacted. I say this so that there is no room for confusion such that people are left to believe that Shaykh Rabee` still warns from him to this day. I took it to mean that since al-Bura`ee has a confusing stance in that time, people should not attend his lessons because he may pass on that confusion and possibly misguide others in this issue. But does this advice of the Shaykh still hold now? The Shaykh should be asked. So this should be pointed out because there is an obvious time difference of roughly one whole year from then till now. As I said, this only relates to the first of the three issues in the post above. The other two matters raised then this is something for the scholars to take up with him, and others to beware from in the meanwhile.
And also this is another example of when a person maybe warned against due to him carrying a particular stance, or a particular trait, or behaviour, or holding a certain position which is potentially harmful to others, but that does not necessitate jarh (disparagement) upon him as a person, or ta`an (revilement) or tabdee` upon him and expelling him from Salafiyyah. Rather, it is carried upon naseehah.
