Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah

Imaam Aboo Haatim Muhammad ibn Hibbaan -rahimahullaah- (d.354H) said in

'Rawdatul-`Uqalaa. ' (p.246-247):

" A MENTION OF THE RECOMMENDATION OF ACCEPTING THE APOLOGY/EXCUSE OF ONE WHO APOLOGISES.

...So what is binding upon the person of intellect, if his brother apologises to him for a previous offence, or for falling short of his rights, is that he should accept his apology, and treat him as one who has not committed any sin; since if a person has come to him to excuse himself, and he does not accept it, then I fear that he will not be permitted to drink from the Vast Reservoir (al-Hawd) with the chosen Messenger ( ııı ıııı ıııı ı ııı); and whoever is guilty of falling short in any regard, then it is binding that he excuses himself with his brother.

And Muhammad ibn `Abdillaah ibn Zanjee al-Baghdaadee stated in a line of poetry:

'If your brother apologises to you one day - for falling short, with the apology of a brother who acknowledges the wrong he has done; then preserve him from suffering harshness from you, and pardon him; for pardoning is the disposition of every free person'."

From Abu Talha Dawood Burbank (May Allah reward him with good)

And Allah Knows Best.
