In the Name of Allaah...

Al-Bukhaaree brought a hadeeth in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad (#157), on the authority of Ibn Mas'ood:

أَجِيبُوا الدَّاعِيَ وَلَا تَرُدُّوا الْهَدِيَّةَ وَلَا تَضْرِبُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ

"Respond to the one who invites you, don't refuse gifts, and do not hit the Muslims."

It is also found in the Musnad of Imaam Ahmad. Al-Albaanee calls it SAHEEH in Irwaa Al-Ghaleel #1616.

In it is a general prohibition of refusing gifts.

Perhaps others can post exceptions to this along with their evidences in shaa' Allaah.
