As Salaam Alaikum Bismillah The brothers on the Dawah would like to advise the general community leaders (not on the haqq) in Indianapolis, Indiana concerning the impermissibility of the group dhikhr. The Ameer of the Masjid promotes it and demands that those who attend the prayer chant in unision the dhikhr before the Eid prayer. The Dhikhr that you say indvidually from the moment you wake until the prayer. Furthermore, Abdul-Hakim Jackson, of the Univ of Michigan further encouraged said chanting prior to the Eid al-adha prayer. I know it is our obligation to enjoin what is good and forbid what evil However, those who are known for their Salafiyyah have been reviled, scorned, slandered and rejected. Therefore, we can not approach the leaders in this community without being criticized for being to harsh,or accuse us of starting fitnah or listening to are advice, proofs and evidences and not implement the same. We are basically at the end of our rope. Therefore, we stick to the haqq and never mention anything else to the leaders. We would like to present them with a letter, including proof from the book the "The Ruling of the Two Eids" by Shaykh Halabee, assuming it is permissible to use his work as a proof? What is your advice for enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil in light of the circumstances in which we find ourselves. Wa Alaikum Salaam Malik Swift, As-Salafee Talab ul Ilm please advise.
