الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

Listen to Shaykh Saalih Bin Fawzaan al-Fawzaan and some students of knowledge laughing at the ridiculous statement of Salmaan al-?Awdah, i.e. that the Islaamic ?Aqeedah can be taught in less than ten minutes!?!! Shaykh al-Fawzaan specifically states that this contains ??a belittlement of the affair of Tawheed.? And the refuge is with Allaah from such foolishness.

As sallam ualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu

Jazakallahkhair akhee kareem for that. Mashallah, Sheikh Fawzan is known as being one of the most straightforward and serious of people around, who is not often seen or heard to laugh on his tapes. Clearly this shows us how ignorant and lame the statement of Al-Awdah is!!!!

Assalaamu'laikum,

Barkallahu Feekum,

Could you please tell me where that statement can be found of Salmaan,
so I can forward it to some people who claim that Salmaan and Safar,
don't have any problems.  And that they have tazkyaat from Sh. Bin Baz (rahimahullah) and it nullified whatever previous statements he said against them.

Shukrun,

Wassalaamu'laikum warahmtullah

Salmaan made this statement in a tape called haakathaa 'allam al-anbiyaa' هكذا علم الأنبياء,which he later made a book.  Abdul Maalik Al-Ramadani mentioned it in Madaarik An-Nathar pg. 300- 301 in the footnotes.
I have heard Shaikh Faalih say that this book was an attempt to refute Sheikh Rabee's Manhaj Al-Anbiyaa'.

Jazaakum Allaahu khayran. Isn't it amazing that when you read the book of Shaykh Rabee` (hafidhahullaah) you clearly get the message that the Prophets and Messengers spent the overwhelming part of their lives teaching this Tawheed, ingraining it into the souls of the people, cutting off all the avenues leading it, and explaining all these avenues, cautioning from these avenues. And also that this concern with Tawheed, whether it was at the beginning in Makkah, or during the emigration, or during the early stages at Madinah, or after the conquest of Makkah, was always at the forefront of the da`wah of the Prophet (sallAllaahu `alayhi wa Sallam), and took a great deal of his life.

And then isn't it amazing that when you read the speech of Salman al-Awdah you get the impression that Tawheed is so simple and such an easy matter (that it can be both taught and understood in ten minutes or less), and that the Prophets when they made this simplistic call openly, spent the rest of their lives embroiled in a struggle with the authorities of the time, which took up most of their time (without focusing too much thereafter on "dry" issues such as aqeedah [ref: Mohammad Suroor - "books of aqeedah are dry, dull"]). However, it should come as no surprise that Salman al-Awdah considered Sayyid Qutb, who spoke with the innovations of the Ash`ariyyah, Jahmiyyah and Mu`tazilah concerning the affairs of Tawheed, and who spoke with the saying of the Soofiyyah regarding Tawheed (of Wahdat ul-Wujood), to be an Imaam of Guidance. And it should also come as no surprise that Salman al-`Awdah praised and worked with the Tahreeree Mu`tazilee Muhammad al-Mas`aree, who called Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn `Abdul-Wahhaab a "simpleton" whose followers were "simpletons" and who reviled Mu`aawiyah (radiyAllaahu `anhu) to please a "Shi`ah brother" (as he says himself) who was in his audience who asked the question about Mu`aawiyah.

It is no surprise to see the difference between the value given to Tawheed by Shaykh Rabee` (who also defended the `aqeedah of Tawheed by refuting Qutb's transgressions against it, and defended the Messengers and the Sahaabah, the Propagators and Callers and Carriers of Tawheed, from Qutb's transgressions against them) and between the value given to it by Salman al-`Awdah (the one who defends the lords of innovation who deviated on the matter of Tawheed, and who took the honours of the Carriers of Tawheed!).

One can only see love for the `aqeedah of Tawheed in the efforts of Shaykh Rabee` in explaining the true da`wah of the Prophets, and one can only see belittlement for the aqeedah of Tawheed in the writings of the Surooriyyah and in their walaa and baraa.

I wonder if Salmaan al-`Awdah, when he rode in the car with that Raafidee Shaykh recently ( http://www.salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=6&Topic=2043 ) had ten minutes to explain Tawheed to this Raafidee, seeing that the aqeedah of Tawheed is very simple to teach, so simple, that it takes ten minutes or less? And whether the Raafidee, after coming out of that car, came out as a Salafee Muwahhid, upon the aqeedah of Abu Bakr, and Imaam Ahmad, and Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah, and Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab, due to the simplicity and easiness of explaining and teaching Tawheed?

Then I wonder if Shaykh ul-Islaam Muhammad bin `Abdul-Wahhaab (rahimahullaah) was so amazing that he wrote Kitaab ut-Tawheed in ten minutes or less? Or whether Shaykh `Abdur-Rahmaan bin Hasan Aal ash-Shaykh and Sulaymaan bin `Abdullaah bin Muhammad bin `Abdul-Wahhaab or Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymeen (rahimahum Allaah) and the numerous others that explained this book were such great and amazing men that they wrote their explanations of Kitaab ut-Tawheed in ten minutes or less, due to Tawheed being easy and simple thing to explain and teach?

Finally, the following statement of Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn `Abdul-Wahhaab, in Kashf ush-Shubuhaat, is very pertinent here regarding the speech of Salmaan al-Awdah. When he speaks about the incident of the tree called dhaat anwaat and the request made by the Sahaabah to the Messenger, sallAllaahu `alayhi wa Sallam, "Make for us a Dhaat Anwaat", the Shaykh says:
quote:
However, this story provides the benefit: That a Muslim - rather a Scholar - can fall into one of the types of Shirk which he does not know about, so it provides (us) the benefit of (adopting) learning, and being cautious, and [the benefit of] knowing that the saying of an ignoramus, "We have understood Tawheed", that verily this is from the greatest of jahl, and from the plots of the Shaytaan
The saying of Salman al-Awdah is indeed from the greatest of jahl, because it is not "understanding" of Tawheed that is necessarily the objective, because the Mushriks of Makkah knew and understood Tawheed, but it is acting by it, in one's speech and action. But these people do not want to spend time teaching the aqeedah of Tawheed to the people, because that requires time and patience, and because it is a "dry" subject to them. They are more interested in their political movements, and organising overthrows, and aqeedah is only useful to them inasmuch that the particular issues they revolve around support the specific objectives of their da`wah.

Anyway, these individuals (Safar and Salmaan) have faced humiliation and have been abandoned by a fair share of their followers when they have began cooperating and showing lenience with the secularists and innovators in recent times. After their Khaarijee da`wah failed and spending five years in prison, it seems that their da`wah has shifted from the Haakimiyyah of al-Qutb to the Ta`aawun and Ma`dhirah of al-Bannaa. To their followers who are disillusioned, this is better perceived as a "sellout", and to the Salafees this is better perceived as a Q to B Strain transition for the benefit of party political agendas.

May Allaah reward Shaykh Rabee` for facing up to their fitnah and aiding the Salafee manhaj.

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

Just to add for those who don't understand the Arabic, after the shaikh and the students laughed at this pathetic statement he goes on to say 'so this means you do Tawheed in 5, Fiqh in 5 and Hadeeth and tafseer is 5 and 5 making 20 minutes maa shaa Allaah' then the students laughed more! May Allaah preserve the noble shaikh.

Here is another more serious refutation by Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan of the same statement.
