Assalamualaikum brothers. Pls give me some advice about arguing with the people of innovations. I frequently get into arguments with my dad and I get really angry when he criticizes the salafee scholars.

Below is a link to comments by Shaykh Saalih al Uthaymeen [rahimahullah] with regards to honouring one's parents, bi'ithnillah it will be of help.

May Allah subhanahu wa t'ala guide myself, my parents, yourself and your parents to the Path of the believers.

Ameen

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh

I attempted to send you a private message but you have disable them.

I am NOT a student of knowledge... in fact far from it.  But I would advise you NOT to raise your voice towards your parents!   I believe you should express gentleness and kindness as arguementation may lead to them saying that this (arguementation) is that of the Manhajus-Salafiyyah.

Whilst going through the book Usoolus-Sunnah a brother mentioned from Shaykh Ubayd al-Jaabaree who said, "3 things NEEDS to be established before you go to debate with ahlul-bid'a:

1 That you are strong in knowledge
2 That you should be well established of the bid'a they are upon
3 That you should have respect and authority towards them.

SubhaanAllaah I have heard of people going to debate with ahlul-bid'a and being overcomed by them and the conclusion being that they become one of them.  Then they aid them in attacking the People of Sunnah.  May Allaah protect you, your family and us all from this!

This link may NOT totally apply to your parents but to others in general:

May Allaah grant you success!
