» If net savings is less than such n' such amount of gold, equalling $850 US, you are not obligated to pay zakkat(?)...
As-Salaamu' Alaikum people upon the Dawatul-Haqq shadeedan.
This was stated during a jum'uah khutbah today but the evidence was not. The imam of one of the masjids in Cleveland said this, insha-Allah can someone post if this is evident or not. Also mentioned was an arabic term that I forgot, which began with a 'ra' that was explained to be an amount of gold that is equal to $850 US and only those possessing this amount of savings are obligated to give in zakkat '2.5%'. Those who posses less are not obligated to pay zakkatul-fitr. This statement was neither connected to a specific 'alam from the 'ulamah, only the statment of 'the 'ulamah said (above statement)" was stated. Can someone with dhaleel please respond insha-Allah.
