The praise of ash-Shaykh Rabee' by ash-Shaykh al-Muhaddith Muhammad 'Alee Adam al-Athioobee hafidhahumullaah:
Shaykh Muhammad 'Alee Adam al-Athioobee who is teaching at Daar al-Hadeeth in Makkah responded to a question posed by some students of Daar al-Hadeeth regarding the noble Shaykh, al-Allamah Rabee' Ibn Hadee Umayr al-Madkhalee hafidhahullaah wa ra'aahu:
You think I will dispraise him? Then he said: 'Ash-Shaykh Rabee' come to me and said: "O Muhammad 'Alee Adam, I love you because you explain the books of the Sunnah. And this was enough for him to love me. He loves me, and I love him. How's that? He is a Salafee, and he is one of the Ulamaa of al-Jarh and at-Ta'deel. And those who dispraise him for his harshness, then he was preceded by the Salaf in that...
ثناء الشيخ العلامة المحدث محمد علي آدم على الشيخ المحدث العلامة ربيع بن هادي المدخلي.
قال أبو الحسين جعفر (وهو أحد تلاميذ الشيخ في دار الحديث): "سئل الشيخ محمد بن علي بن آدم الإثيوبي żحفظه الله- في إحدى المجالس عن الشيخ ربيع بن هادي المدخلي żحفظه الله-, فضحك (يعني الشيخ محمد) ثم سمعته يقول:
"يظنوني أذمه" (يعني الشيخ ربيع) ثم قال: "جاءني الشيخ ربيع فقال لي يا محمد علي آدم, أنا أحبك لأنك تشرح الكتب الستة, فأنا أكافئه بذلك, هو يحبني وأنا أحبه, كيف ذلك وهو سلفي, وهو أحد علماء الجرح والتعديل, والذين يذمونه في شدته, فله سلف في ذلك...."اهـ"
هذا ما أُخبرت به, وكان هذا الجواب في مجلس كان بسبب بعض الخلافات التي حصلت بين الشباب السلفي مع غيرهم في دار الحديث, فجُمع الطلاب حتى يُناصحوا, وكان هذا السؤال من حزبي كما يظهر من ضحك الشيخ.
وموقف الشيخ محمد من الشيخ ربيع وإخوانه من المشايخ والمنهج السلفي معروف ولله الحمد.

Here are the names of some of the Ulemah recommended by Ash-Shaykh Dr. Saalih ibn Sa'ad as-Suhaymee hafidhahullah in the recent Imaam Daarul Hijrah Dawrah at Masjid Qiblatayn. Shaykh Suhaymee was the head of Department of 'Aqeedah at Islamic University of Madeenah and has been teaching in Masjid an-Nabawi for many years now.

In 1417H, Ash-Shaykh Dr. Jabir At-Tayyib* wrote an introduction for Shaykh Rabee's book "Jamaa'ah Waahidah, Laa Jamaa'aat Siraat Waahid, Laa Asharaat" (A Single Jamaa'ah, not Many Jamaa'ahs, A Single Path, not Tens of [Paths]) and in that he praised Shaykh Rabee' and called him Aalim Jaleel (excellent Scholar). Hope someone can translate the entire introduction from here.
(*) Sheikh Ghunaim ibn Mubaarak Aal Ghunaim who worked as a judge and chief justice and then as member in the Supreme Judicial Council of Saudi Arabia said [url=http://www.moj.gov.sa/adl/ENG/attach/69.pdf]here[/url], "Dr. Jabir At-Tayyib (rahimahullaah) was a judge in Beeshah and was then transferred to the Supreme Court in Makkah; in fact, Dr. Jabir At-Tayyib contributed numerous programmes to the Qur'an Radio Channel and would give talks and lessons in the Grand Mosque in Makkah."

Ash-Shaykh Alee al-Hudhaifi refers to Shaykh Rabee as "Allamah", praises him and his refutations of Sayyad Qutb & others and further refutes Sayyad Qutb here. Shaykh al-Hudhaifee also says regarding Shaykh Rabee' hafidhahumullah that "The Sheikh has the virtue of specialization in writing about men."
Hope someone will translate it into English for the benefit of the Ummah.

Shaykh Ahmad az-Zahraanee wrote (1),
"And in Riyaadh on 20/8/1427H Shaykh Rabee' visited the esteemed Mufti (Abdul-Aziz Aal ash-Shaykh) in Riyaadh, in his office at al-Jaamii' al-Kabeer(2) and Shaykh Rabee' spoke about the Ahl ul-Bid'ah wal-Ahwaa (People of Innovations and Desires) and what they conceal of [intending] evil towards the Sunnah and its people. Discussion took place about the Internet and the people of desires using it to spread their poison. So the Muftee said: O Shaykh Rabee'. Have patience. Indeed Allaah is with those who are patient, and you are a well-known mountain. Let them not concern O Shaykh Rabee'. Those are ignorant, foolish-minded ones."
"And the Muftee of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Shaykh, Allaamah, Abdul-Aziz Aal ash-Shaykh kissed the forehead of Shaykh Rabee' al-Madkhali on Wednesday 4/12/1423H at the Makkah Cultural Centre, and the esteemed Muftee requested this from him, saying to him, "You are our Shaykh". And he also said this in Taa'if in 1427H."
"And on Monday, 19/12/1427H in Makkah, Shaykh Rabee' al-Madkhalee visited the esteemed Muftee in his office, and Shaykh Rabee' gave salaams, and the Muftee said: "Wa alaykum as-salaam warahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh - welcome O our Shaykh, Shaykh Rabee'".

Imaam al-Albaanee sent a letter to Allamah Rabee' saying, "Everything with which you have refuted Sayyid Qutb is the truth (haqq) and is correct (sawab). And it will become sufficiently clear from this refutation to every one who has read anything from "The Islamic Heritage" that Sayyid Qutb had no knowledge of the Usool (fundamentals) or the Furoo' (subsidiary matters) of Islaam. So may Allaah reward you with the best of reward, O brother Rabee for fulfilling the obligation of explaining and uncovering his ignorance and deviation from Islaam."

The books of Shaykh Rabee' hafidhahullah are many, all praise be to Allaah. The Shaikh has written on many important and required topics, especially that of refuting the people of innovation and desires in these times, in which the rectifiers are few and the troublemakers are many. His books include:

30. "The Islaamic Ruling concerning the one who reviles Allaah's Messenger or criticizes some part of His Message" - This is an article that appeared in the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabs (Issue 8576) on 9/5/1977.

The Shaikh has other books that we did not mention here. We ask Allaah to assist him in completing the good and to grant him the ability to do what He loves and is pleased with. Surely, Allaah has power over that and He is Able to do it.

The noble Shaikh 'Abdul-'Azeez ibn Baaz (rahimahullahu ta'ala), he mentioned that Shaikh Rabee' is from the best of the people of the Sunnah, and that he is well known to him for his knowledge, excellence, and for good and correct 'aqeedah, that he has no doubt that he is from the people of the Sunnah and the Jamażah, that he is well known to him for rectitude, knowledge and correct 'aqeedah. And Shaikh Ibn Baaz advised him with calling to Allah and to continue refuting those who oppose the way of the Salaf, and that he should persevere patiently upon that, and Shaikh Ibn Baaz advised the students of knowledge that they should benefit from the books of Shaikh Rabee'.

On the website of Imaam Ibn Baz rahimahullah a list of the Shaykh's prominent Students with their brief introductions is given. In that list the name of Allamah Rabee is also mentioned and as his introduction it's mentioned, Professor of Islamic University(of Madeenah) and head of department of Sunnah and the author of the famous rudood(refutations).
May Allah guide those whom the Shaykh has refuted if they are still alive and forgive those who died as Muslims. Aameen.
