as-Salaamu 'alaykum -
Shaykh Rabee', may Allaah preserve him, was asked last Friday (the 15th of Jumaadaa al-Oolaa, 1425) at his house about Shaykh 'Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree:
هذا يقول ما رايكم في حضور دروس الشيخ عبد الله البخاري في المدينة ؟ افيدونا باجوبة . افيدونا ماجورين : انا انصح الشباب في المدينة ان يحضروا دروس الاخ عبد الله البخاري فانهم من () اهل السنة ومن الدابين عنها في كل مسالة فيما اعرف يكتب ويصول ويجول في الدب عن السنة واهلها اكثر من كثير من من يحاربونه من اهل الاهواء القداما () وهو من خيار اهل السنة ان شاء الله نسئل الله ان يثبتنا واياه على السنة وان ينفع بنا وبه فما علمت فيه الا انه سلفي ()وكلنا خطاء وخير الخطائين التوابون نعم ....
"This (questioner) says, 'What is your opinion about attending the lessons of Shaykh 'Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree in al-Madeenah? Benefit us, (and you are) rewarded.' I advise the youth in al-Madeenah to attend the lessons of the brother, 'Abdullaah al-Bukhaaree, for verily he is from [...] Ahlus-Sunnah, from those who defend it (the Sunnah). In every affair that I know of he writes, comes forth, and engages in defending the Sunnah and its people, more than many of those who wage war against him from the people of desires [...], and he is from the best of Ahlus-Sunnah, in shaa' Allaah, we ask Allaah to grant us and him firmness upon the Sunnah, and to bring benefit through us and him. And I do not know about him except that he is a Salafee [...], and all of us are always erring, and the best of those who continually err are those who continually repent, na'am..."
