Aboo `Aasim `Abdullaah bin Humayd bin Alee Siwaan al-Ghaamidee wrote:
All praise is due to Allaah, I was with Shaykh al-Bannaa a few nights before the last ten days of Ramadaan, and our brother Abu `Umar al-`Utaybee and our brother Khaalid Qays, and our brother Abul-`Abbaas were with me. This was in his house in Makkah, so Shaykh al-Bannaa said some good words in the gathering about the people of knowledge, until he mentioned our Shaykh, Rabee`, so he said about him:
لكل عصر مجدد وهو مجدد الجرح والتعديل في عصرنا Every era has a reviver and he is the reviver of al-Jarh wat-Ta`deel in our time
...And here I forgot some important speech he said, for he also said:
أن الشيخ ابن باز مجدد في الفتوى او قال في الفقه وأن الشيخ الألباني مجدد في الحديث That Shaykh Ibn Baaz is the reviver in Fatwaa - or he said in Fiqh - and that Shaykh al-Albaanee is the reviver in hadeeth
Shaykh Muhammad al-Bannaa said (when asked for some advice for the Salafee youth of Algeria, and when informed of the advice already given to them by Shaykh Rabee`):
What can I say after the naseehah of Shaykh ... what can I say after the naseehah of the Imaam of al-Jarh wat-Ta`deel in the fourteenth century, and he is Rabee` Haadee, he is the most knowledgeable...[questioner interjects]...
[and then brief advice of Shaykh Rabee` is played to Shaykh Muhammad al-Bannaa over the line, then the Shaykh gives some brief advice of keeping away from Ahl ul-Bid`ah and sticking to the `Ulamaa and their fataawaa which are based upon the Book and the Sunnah and the way of the Salaf...]
