The Salafees of Indianapolis broke away from Masjid al-bidah approximately 2 months ago. We do not have a Masjid. However we are praying Ju'muah together in a brothers house. My name is Abu Mu'aawiyah Malik Swift ibn Marguerite Price Al-Chicagee al-salafee

This morning at around 2:30 Est december 31, 2001 in a paltalk room called Thalathatul Usool-Jaami run by brother Yazin ibn Sami of the Chicago area I heard a tape of Shaykh Fawzee al-Atharee that was translated and played by brother yazin in which the shaykh stated according to brother yazin that Masjid at-Tawheed in Chicago should be boycotted and its Imam, Abu Dawood Khaleel al Beleezee, should likewise be avoided. And this statement of the Shaykhs supports 'Abdul Kareem's earlier assertion that there is currently no Salafi Masjid in Chicago. The Shaykh advised that the masjid be avoided based on the fact that the Imam and some members of the Shuraa there have fallen into extreme hizbiyya to the point where one sick member of the shuraa and the imam are under the opinion that the imams of masjids have special rights similiar to those of the Muslim rulers, and therefore should not be criticized in public. And one of the shuraa members suggested that the salafis acted like khawaarij and they act like shaytaans by dividing the community. This and the imam claimed Salafiyya and propably still does and he tries to get connections with Abu Uwais and others and trick them, may Allah protect them from this liar. So the point yazin wanted to make by playing this tape was to abandon and be harsh with the people of this masjid and if they try to establish a connection with your salafi masjid then reject them because they are not salafis.

Islamic Center of Ann Arbor is an Interfaith, Ikhwaanee Masjid. They openly call to cooperation with the kuffaar and blood drives with them, and that "there is no big difference between us and them" type of thinking.
There are less than a dozen Salafees known to me in the Ann Arbor area
where I am from.
Some of us pray at Masjid Tawheed in Dearborn on occasion, where there are to be found the remnants of QSS and those with Hizbiyyah for it, yet this Masjid is the closest to being on the Manhaj, May Allaah Correct The Affairs.

As salaamu alaikum wa rahmahtullah wa barakatu.
I was told of a Masjid in Detroit, Michigan called Masjid Tawheed and akhi that told me said that it was salafi before he left Michigan and moved to chicago and before the abul hasan fitnah. He also said that the Masjid was pretty tight with QSS before the Abul Hasan Fitnah. Is there any information on this Masjid? Barak Allaahu Feekum. May Allaah Ta'Ala Reward Those Who Help With This Question With Good In this Life And Good In The Hereafter, Ameen.

it seems as though that masjid is still affiliated with iana, or at least as recent as this summer, when they co-hosted 3 lectures there.

Commenting on the above reply about that masjid in Michigan, a brother mentioned to me that at one point this masjid/ organization was affiliated with IANA, this is a suroori organization. The brother who is salafi told me that before this da'wah to salafiyyah from his experiences, from this masjid he was referred to Wejdi Al-Gazawi As-Suroori who talked evil of Shaikh Muhammad Aman Al-Jamee Rahimahu'llah in the face of Dawud Adib, saying that the shaikh was an agent and a munafiq! Allahu'Musta'aan.

Ahki, I am from Southern Michigan and I'm not aware of any Salafee masaajid in this area. I have been told that in DELETED there is an Imaam who teaches as-Salafiyyah. As far as it being considered a bonafide Salafee masjid with a congregation full of salafiyoon, I don't think so and Allaah knows best. However, I don't know the current Imaam in DELETED and I haven't been to that particular masjid since the mid 1990's. So my advice would be to use caution and thoroughly investigate what they are upon if you were to ever visit them insha'Allaah.
At one time their website for the Children's Islaamic Academy stated that the sexes were kept seperated and its curriculum was based upon Islaam as understood by as-Salaf us-Saalih.
Just in case you are ever in that area, you may want to check them out for yourself. Insha'Allaah I'm also interested in knowing if you find out about any masaajid in Chicago, Ohio or Indiana as well.

In Columbus, Ohio is a salafi masjid. Masjid As-Sahaba. This masjid is a salafi masjid and was established upon salafiyyah. I know this, from the administration being salafi in there aqidah, manhaj, the way they do their transactions, and the way they deal with the people masha-Allah.
