Assalamu Allaykum I would like to know about an individual who resides in Tarem, Yemen and goes by the name Habeeb Alee. People have claimed that he is from the Prophet (sallahu allahi wa salum)'s family and he practices tasawuff. Have any of the Scholars of the Sunnah spoke about this invdividual? It seems to me that he is misguiding a lot of people in the west. Assalamu Allaykum wa rahmatullah ÇÈí ÚÈÏÇáÑÍãä ÇáÕãæãÇá

He is from a new brand of ignorant, "made-for-TV" du'aat who do nothing but call to misguidance and innovations and, in the case of Habeeb 'Alee, khuraafaat and shirkiyyaat. Refer to these threads for a full exposition of this man's dalaal: http://www.sahab.net/sahab/showthread.php?s=&threadid=294620 http://www.sahab.net/sahab/showthread.php?s=&threadid=294619 Others like him include: [1] 'Amr Khaalid, a complete jaahil of Allaah's Deen who has a program on satellite TV and generally lectures women only. He is known for having a "lovable" nature and convincing style of speech. Of course, he only speaks about adaab and akhlaaq and never tawheed and sunnah. Rather, he has been seen visiting tombs and shrines - photographs of him doing so exist on the web and I saw them on sahab. He has been refuted in detail by 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree and more recently Ibraaheem ar-Ruhaylee, the latter of whom said that ??such people are more severe upon the Muslims then the enemies of Islaam (i.e. the Kuffaar).? [2] Taariq as-Suweedaan, another innovator and reviler of the Sahaabah, he has also been refuted by 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree for his raafidhee tendencies. He appears on same channel as 'Amr Khaalid and sometimes on the Ikhwaanee mouthpiece disguised as a news-network, al-Jazeerah (as have 'Abdur-Rahmaan 'Abdul-Khaaliq and Yoosuf al-Qardaawee). [3] ?Abdul-Majeed az-Zindaanee, whose case is well-known due to the numerous refutations of Muqbil al-Waadi'ee and his students upon him. Of course, he has a program on the same channel. [4] 'Aa'id al-Qarnee, who has a seerah program on the same channel. He is a staunch Qutubee with little intellect and an aversion to honesty. His lying and misguidance was annihilated by Faalih Bin Naafi? a few months ago in a three hour lecture. Interesting point: Shaykh 'Ubayd al-Jaabiree, when speaking about [1] and [2], mentioned how the Jews and Freemasons actively support these TV du'aat and the channels that promote them in order to destroy the Religion of Allaah 'Azz wa Jal and misguide the Muslims. Furthermore, it is interesting to note how the "kind and caring" du'aat quickly change their attitudes when they are advised or refuted. They, in order to save their own faces and maintain their fame, never repent to Allaah or retract from their mistakes, they instead find any excuse to save themselves. For example, 'Amr Khaalid, when questioned about him shaving his beard, stated that, "...growing the beard is waajib, but da'wah for me is fard, and the fard is greater than the waajib (!!?!?)." A laughably pathetic answer like this indicates a lack of knowledge and ikhlaas towards Allaah, both of which are prerequisites to da'wah. Allaah said:

And Glorified and Exalted be Allâh (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh; those who worship others along with Allâh or set up rivals or partners to Allâh)." |

| These people do not call to Allaah, but rather to themselves, and they do not have baseerah (certain knowledge, insight, etc). And Allaah 'Azz wa Jal knows best about the plotters and planners. |

As for whether or not he is from the Prophet?s (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) family, then this is irrelevant, as the poet said: Âá ÇáäÈÜÜÜí åÜÜÜã ÃÊÈÜÜÜÇÚ ãáÊÜÜå ãÜä ßÜÇä ãÜä ÚÌÜã ãäåÜã æãÜä ÚÜÑÈ áÜÜæ áÜÜÜã íßÜÜä ÂáÜÜå ÅáÇ ÞÑÇÈÊÜå ÕáÜì ÇáãõÕóáøöí ÚáÜì ÇáØÜÇÛÜí ÃÈÜí áÜåÈ Which means: The family of the Prophet are the followers of his Religion Those of them who are from the non-Arabs and from the Arabs If his family was only his relatives A prayer would pray for the tyrant Abee Lahab The believers from Ahl us-Sunnah from the family of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) do however have an extra degree of rank over other than them according to the ?Ulamaa?, though. This is not the case here, as this man is clear innovator and caller to misguidance and zandaqah. Being from Aal ul-Bayt does not affect his status as an innovator in the slightest. |
