As-Salaamu' Alaikum,

Isha-Allah call one of the established da'wa centers and see if they can help you in your situation- Darul-Hadith wal'Athar in Philly -215-471-0913 or even call Troid or SalafiPublications in UK. Go to their websites for the phone numbers.

Jazak'Allahu' Khair.

A-oothu billaahi minash-shaytaawnir-rajeem.  Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem. Was-sawlaatu was-salaamu 'alaa ashrafil ambiyaa-e wal mursaleen, Nabiyyinaa Muhammadan wa 'alaa aalihe wa ashaabihe ajma'een:

Wa ba'd:

My question is regarding the 'waleeship' of reverted muslimaat, who have no male muslim relatives.  Who is responsible for these women, for instance, when they want to get married?
I was told the eemaam was responsible, but was given no proof for that.  Also, if the eemaam is known to be upon deviation (far from the manhaj of the Salafus- Saawlih), is very lax in protecting and looking out for the interest of the women under his charge and has a track record of giving incorrect advice, what choice does the sister have in this case?

Can she entrust her gaurdianship to a brother upon the correct manhaj or must she remain under the charge of the eemaam?

Also, what is the exact role of a non-mahraam walee and what are the rules regarding his relationship to the sister (ex. Can they be alone together?)?

I would be very grateful, Insha'Allah for a response to these questions and may Allah reward you with Khayr.  Aameen

Barakallaahu feekum was salawaatu was-salaamu 'alaa nabiyyinaa Muhammad.

Umm Aasiyah
