Asalamualaikum Wa RahmatuAllah Does anyone know what time does Ishaa end? I was always told at 12:00 Midnight. But, I heard in a lecture that the ending of Ishaa changes depending on what season it is, so im unsure of the exact time. InshaAllaah someone can clarify this. JazakAllahu Khair.

So does this mean that the time of Ishaa is extended all the way until the time of Fajr?

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu 'ala rasulullaah Amma ba'd Wa 'alaykum u salam wa rahmatullaahi wa baarakatu, Yoosef, Here is a Formula to help you: Step One: Calculate how much time there is between Maghrib and the subsequent Fajr. Step Two: Then divide that time by 2. Step Three: Then either add that answer to the start of Maghrib or subtract that answer from the time of Fajr. That final answer is when 'Isha ends, baarak Allaahu feekum. ___________________________________________________________________________ So here's an example: Let's say Maghrib enters at 8:30 PM and Fajr enters at 4:30 AM. Step One: So the difference in time from 8:30 PM to 4:30 AM is eight hours. Step Two: Then divide 8 by 2 = [you get] 4 hours. Step Three: So if you add 4 hours to 8:30 PM, or you subtract 4 hours from 4:30 AM, you get the same answer: 12:30 AM. That is when 'Isha ends. ___________________________________________________________________________ Here is an excerpt from the beneficial source, already linked above:
| quote: |
[He] (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam): | quote: |
...and the time for 'Eshaa' Prayer is up until half of the night. {Muslim} |
|
... This is further supported by what 'Umar bin Al-Khattaab wrote to Aboo Moosaa Al-Ash'aree [radiallaahu 'anhum], | quote: |
"...and pray 'Eshaa' before one-third of the night passes, unless you delay it, then to half of the night, but do not be from the heedless ones." |
|
This report was collected by Maalik, At-Tahaawee, and Ibn Hazm, and its chain is saheeh. This narration is clear evidence to show that the time of 'Eshaa' goes until the middle of the night [5] only, and this is what is correct. Ash-Showkaanee favored that, saying, "...and the last time for 'Eshaa' to be offered is the middle of the night." [5] And Siddeeq Hasan Khaan followed him in his explanation [6], and a similar statement has been gathered from Imaam Maalik as found in Bidaayatul-Mujtahid [7]. And it is the choice of a group of Shaafi'ee scholars as well, like Aboo Sa'eed Al-Istakhree and others. [8][ And Allaah knows best.] |

| Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
