Recognize the Khawaarij and their characteristics when you see them, so that you are not deceived by them

A Concise Introduction to the Khawaarij, by Shaikh Ibrahim al-Ruhayli

Excerpts:
quote:
Many authentic hadeeth from the prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) condemning them have come in ten different forms of narration like what al-Khalal narrated from Imam Ahmad that he said: "The Khawaarij are wicked people, and I don't know of any people on earth more evil than they."

quote:
- The Khawaarij collectively [declared] that both 'Uthman and later 'Alee (the 3rd and 4th caliphs of Islam) were disbelievers as [they declared] other companions. [Aoodhoobillaah!]
- And they think revolting against the leaders and governments is permissible. [Aoodhoobillaah!]
- They also believe that any major sin is an act of disbelief... [Aoodhoobillaah!]

The Khawaarij Ideology, by Shaikh Fawzaan

Excerpt:
quote:
This is the exact methodology of the Khawaarij. It includes three things:
1. Making Takfir of other Muslims.
2. Renouncing obedience to the leader or government.
3. Declaring the blood of other Muslims lawful to spill.

This is precisely the methodology of the Khawaarij. Even if a person were only to believe any of these things with his heart, yet he may not actually speak or do anything of them, he is still one of the Khawaarij in his baseless belief and opinions.

Descriptions of the Khawaarij, by Shaikh al-Albani

Excerpts:

quote:
It was asked, "What is their distinguishing sign?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) answered: "Their sign is shaven heads."

quote:
Yet, they used to twist and misinterpret the Qur`an from its intended meanings. They used to persist on their own personal opinions, and they used to appear very strict and devout in their humility, their renouncement of worldly things, and other things.

From the Attributes of the Khawaarij

Excerpts:
quote:
From their attributes is their outward portrayal of righteousness and piety while concealing corruptive beliefs inside. [The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:] One of you would belittle his own prayer when compared to their prayer and his fasting compared to their fasting. They will recite the Qur`an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through a target.

quote:
From the attributes of the Khawaarij are their ignorance of the Book and the Sunnah and their wicked interpretations of their meanings just as the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: They read the Qur`an, thinking it is in support of them while it is actually against them.

The reason for this ignorance of theirs is that they abandon and avoid the genuine scholars. They conceitedly consider themselves higher than the scholars, and discourage others from attending their lectures. All this because they think they are the ones responsible for scrutinizing and monitoring the scholars. This is what ignorance does to a person.

quote:
Another attribute of the Khawaarij is that they are as the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) described them: Young in age, having reckless and deficient intellects.

And from the virtues bestowed by Allah is that there is never anyone with them from the people of knowledge, dignity, or the Sunnah.

The Fitnah of the Khawaarij, by Shaikh Salih Ali-Shaykh

Excerpt:
quote:
The second point I want to clarify about the verse [ayah 7 of Soorat al-'Imran] is regarding the statement, As for those in whose hearts is deviation, they follow what is unspecific, unclear to them. Allah affirms here that it is possible for people to have deviation in their hearts. He first mentions, As for those in whose hearts is deviation, (before mentioning that they follow the unclear verses) meaning that the presence of these unspecific, unclear verses is not the cause of their deviation. Rather, they already had a form of deviation within themselves, so they chose to follow only these unspecific verses. This happens often; someone with personal desires and misguidance searches for anything to use as proof to support his preconceived notions and what he's already decided on.

Ibn Ḥazm mentioned at the beginning of his book, "al-Iḥkaam fee Uṣool al-aḥkaam" that one of the reasons people deviate from the truth is that they often have preconceived ideas they have already decided to follow, so they look for evidence to support the direction they have chosen to take. This is one of the main reasons that leads to tribulations occurring, divisions among people, and misguidance.

So, beware of having preconceived personal preferences in something and then afterwards you look to the evidences. Then you look in the Book for something to support and back what you have already decided on, what you already began to do, or perhaps to support the direction your group is taking, or for similar reasons. We warn against this.

Warning against the Fitnah of Takfir, by Shaikh al-Albani
Excerpt:

quote:
Then, if we look to the people who are ruled - and from amongst them there are the scholars, the righteous, etc. - how can you then pass judgment upon them with disbelief just because you see them living under these laws, the same laws that encompass you too just as they do them? But you declare only them to be disbelievers and apostates, insisting that ruling by what Allah has revealed is obligatory! Yet you make an excuse for yourselves and contradict yourselves by stating that differing with the judgments of the Shari'a by mere actions does not necessarily hold the ruling that the one who does it is an apostate from his religion.

This is exactly what people other than you are saying, those you accuse wrongly with the ruling of Takfir and apostasy!

Are the Khawaarij Those Who Only Revolt against a Just Ruler? by Shaikh Rabee' bin Hadee al-Madkhalee

Excerpt:

quote:
He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said (about the rulers): Obey them as long as they establish the prayer among you. And he (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: (You will see things from them) that you know (to be right) and things you dislike. And when asked, "Should we oppose them with our swords?," he (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: No, not as long as they pray.

These texts were regarding unjust rulers and still the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) instructed (the people) to have patience with them. He did not allow rebelling and opposing them. The one who revolts and renounces allegiance to them (the leaders), then he does so against all the Muslims. In this case, such a person should be killed (legitimately by capital punishment), even if the ruler he opposed was indeed oppressive.

quote:
So, the solution is that as long as the ruler is within the circle of Islam - and the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) clearly defined it - then even if such a ruler were wicked and oppressive; as long as he is within Islam, as long as he establishes prayer, then it is impermissible to oppose and revolt against him. Have you all understood this? This is the ruling of Allaah and the ruling of the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), not the ruling of the ignorant people.

Obeying Governments & Authorities, by Shaikh Ibn Baaz

Excerpt:
quote:
We advise everyone to listen to and obey them as we've previously and always said. We warn against rebelling and revolting against any of the leaders in authority; these are some of the greatest sins. Rather, they are from the religion of the Khawaarij. This is the religion of the Khawaarij and Mu'tazilah; they reject the command to listen to and obey the leaders if they see them commit a sin, eventually opposing and rising up against them. This is wrong and contradictory to what the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) commanded. He ordered that one must listen to and obey the leaders in the good they command. He said:
quote:
Whoever sees from his leader something of disobedience to Allaah, then he should dislike what he does of sinning against Allaah, but he must not remove even a hand-span away from obedience (to him).

Descriptions of the Khawaarij, by Shaikh al-Albani

Excerpts:
quote:
Imam Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and al-Hakim recorded a Ḥadith from Ibn Abi Awfa, and Ahmad and al-Hakim also recorded it from Abu Umamah that the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
The Khawaarij are the dogs of Hell.
The Khawaarij are a sect of people who innovate and follow beliefs and practices foreign to Islam. They are called that (derived from the Arabic root verb: kharaja - meaning to exit or rebel against) for their leaving the religion and for their rebellion against the best Muslims (Prophet Muhammad's companions).

quote:
Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu 'anhumma) said, "I heard Allah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) say: Every time a new generation of them rises, they will then disappear, more than twenty times and then said: Until the Anti-Christ finally appears among them.

Excerpt:
quote:
...This act [bombings] of theirs is the act of the Khawaarij. Rather, they are even more violent and extreme than the (original) Khawaarij. The (past) Khawaarij did not use to destroy buildings and residents. The Khawaarij used to show up face-to-face on the battlefield. They used to fight on the battlefield despite what they were upon of ignorance. But they did not used to collapse buildings on everyone inside them - women, children, the innocent, those at peace with Muslims, people with whom Muslims have a treaty, and other people guaranteed safety. The Khawaarij used not to do this. This is worse and more violent than the actions of the (original) Khawaarij. This is more like the actions of the Qaraamitah (a severely violent, misguided sect)...

The misguided youth subject themselves to the punishment reported in the statement of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam): Whoever kills a Muaa`hid (a non-Muslim promised safety) will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise even though its scent can be smelled from forty years away.

As for the sincere callers, by their invitation (to Islam), they hope for rewards promised in the statement of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam): Whoever calls to guidance, there is for him a reward for anyone who follows him without diminishing their own rewards at all.

Excerpt:
quote:
I [Ibn 'Abbaas] told them: I have come to you from amongst the companions of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - the Muhajirun and the Ansaar and from the son of the uncle of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) ('Ali), who is his son-in-law. And upon them descended the Qur`an; they are more knowledgeable about it than you and there is not one of them (the companions) amongst you. I have come to convey to you what they say, and to convey to them what you say.

Learn More about The Khawaarij to avoid becoming one of them

Are the Khawaarij considered to be from the people of the Qiblah?

Shaikh Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
The 'ulemaa have differed as to whether the Khawaarij are disbelievers or merely deviants and sinners. And the opinion that they are disbelievers is closer to the truth since the proofs indicate that they are disbelievers.

As for praying behind them, then it is not permissible except when they gain authority over a nation, as has been mentioned by the 'ulemaa. In this case, the Muslim should pray behind them and not abandon the congregational prayers.

On the one who disobeys the rulers

Shaikh Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
Whoever disobeys the command of the ruler then he has disobeyed the Messenger (sallallaahualaihi wasallam). As long as the ruler does not order him with sinning, then disobedience of him is the disobedience of the Messenger (sallallaahualaihi wasallam).

Similarly if he criticises the ruler, then this is the madhab of the Khawaarij who criticise the rulers, speak about them and incite the people against them.

The young rabble who rose up against Uthmaan did not do so except due to the vile Ibn Saba'. He began to speak in the gatherings and incite the people until the foolish people began to rage, and this ended in the killing of Uthmaan (radiallaahu anhu). And what tribulations were the Muslims thrown into due to his killing? Things that would make the hair turn grey due the killing of the Caliph and rebelling against him.

The Various Ways and Precursors of Rebellion

quote:
...Rebellion against the rulers occurs by the sword which is the most extreme form of rebellion and it [rebellion] also occurs by speech, by way of criticising, abusing, and speaking about them in gatherings and on pulpits. This agitates and encourages the people to rebel against the ruler and belittles the ruler in front of their eyes. So speech is a form of rebellion.

Is Dhul-Khuwaisarah regarded as a Companion or a Khaarijee?

Shaikh Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
The one who said to the Messenger "you are not just," then this was the precursor of rebellion. He rebelled against the Prophet (sallallaahualaihi wasallam) in the sense that accused him of treachery.

And it is not from the conditions of being from the Khawaarij that one carries weapons, rather when a person believes in takfeer of the Muslims because of major sins, then he becomes a Khaarijee and upon their madhab. And if he incites the people against the ruler of the muslims by his sermons and writings, even if he didn't raise his sword, then this is the madhab of the Khawaarij.

And the Khawaarij are of many types. Amongst them are those carry weapons, those who speak with the like of what this man said to the Prophet (sallallaahualaihi wasallam), and amongst them are those who write, and those who believe with their hearts and do not speak or do anything, but in his aqeedah and in his heart is the aqeedah of the Khawaarij. However some of them are more severe than others.

Regarding those who claim that the Saudi state fights the Religion

quote:
Since the Saudi state began, it has been aiding the deen and its people, and it was not set up except on this foundation. And now it aids the Muslims in every place with financial help, building Islamic centres and masaajid, sending du'aat, printing books foremost amongst them - the Noble Qur`aan, opening centres of learning and Sharee'ah colleges, and also it rules by the Islamic Sharee'ah and has an independent body for enjoining good and forbidding evil in every town.

And all of that is a proof that this state aids Islaam and its people, and it is a thorn in the throats of the hypocrites and the people of evil and splitting. And Allaah will aid His deen even if the mushrikeen and those of evil intentions hate it.

And we do not say that this state is perfect in every way and that it doesn't have any mistakes. Mistakes occur from everyone, but we ask Allaah to aid us in rectifying the mistakes. And if the one who said this looked at himself, he would find mistakes in himself which would prevent him from speaking about others and he would be ashamed to look at the people.

So Who are the Khawaarij Today?

The Ideology of the Khawaarij Sect is disseminated amongst Muslims today via the teachings of Sayyid Qutb, Hasan al-Banna, Ikhwaanul-Muslimoon and their many spinoffs.

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) said:

quote:
One of the different misguided groups still working to hide the truth from the people is the Khawaarij... From those who carry the ideology of the Khawaarij is "Ikhwanul Muslimeen," founded by Hassan al-Banna [no relation].

And we say "rahimahullaah," because we hope that he may have repented before he died. However, it was narrated about Hassan al-Banna after what happened in his final days when he was arrested by the Egyptian government amongst the ranks of Ikhwanul Muslimeen because of demonstrations on the streets of Egypt and blowing up some places with bombs and fighting the police on the streets and so on, that he said, 'I wish we continued upon worshipping Allaah and reciting adhkaar.' He never said here Tawheed [singling out Allaah] or anything relating to Tawheed [the call of which he was known for dismissing, as you'll soon read in sha` Allaah]. So we hope that he may have repented to Allaah - between him and Allaah - to the true religion [meaning correct Islam].

He never called the people to Tawheed, he never showed them Tawheed versus shirk, or Sunnah versus bid'ah. Rather, when asked about Tawheed, or the Names and Attributes of Allaah, or those calling upon the people in the graves, he and Ikhwanul Muslimeen would not say anything but general talk without explanation or delving into details. Even in his memoirs, he stated that calling upon those in the graves did not have anything to do with 'aqeedah. [Calling upon those in the graves is, of course, Major Shirk! Aoodhoobillaah!] And his followers followed him in this same path.

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) recounted his own experiences as a child and later as a young adult with this group - Ikhwanul Muslimeen - which carries the ideology of the Khawaarij:

quote:
We were young at the time, so we said what the people were saying. And Al-Hamdulillaah, Allaah guided us to the true manhaj (methodology) and correct 'aqidah (creed), via our (righteous) scholars. And we learned the truth of the matter. ...Hassan al-Banna [the founder of this deviant group] called the people to his 'aqidah, and part of his 'aqeedah was to be in different parties - against the rulers - and to refute the actions of the rulers that they saw as against the religion. And they used to spread this in the society among the people. But we still believe they [Ikhwanul Muslimeen] were not disbelievers. And the same goes for the [Muslim] rulers, whom we do not declare to be disbelievers.

Here's what our Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) said about the encounters between Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] and righteous Salafi scholar Muhammad Hammid al-Fiqhee (rahimahullaah):

quote:
Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] visited Shaikh Muhammad Hammid al-Fiqhee (rahimahullaah) in his Jam'eeyah, and told him: 'The Muslims are lost!' (meaning they're broken apart in division and groups) and have no strength whatsoever, and they're not living the life of Islam.'

So the Shaikh Muhammad Hammid al-Fiqhee asked him, 'What is the exit (solution)?'

So Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] said, 'Call them to Islam.'

Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee said, 'Which Islam?' Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] said, 'General Islam that is befitting for the laymen of the Muslims.'

So Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee refused and said, 'Rather, we call them to Tawheed and Manhaj.' [Which is a more specific call to the correct Islam - prioritizing Tawheed and the Sunnah - that all the Messengers ('alaihimu salaam) called to; and is also a focus on eeman and not numbers at the expense of eeman; in addition to the forbidding of shirk and bid'ah, and not ignoring them for the sake of superficial numbers.]

Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] said, 'They will divide when we mention Tawheed.'

Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee said, quoting the ayah: Not upon you (Muhammad ) is their guidance (Al-Baqarah 2:272)

And every time Hassan al-Banna [the founder of Ikhwanul Muslimeen] visited the Shaikh Muhammad al-Fiqhee, the Shaikh al-Fiqhee repeated his call to Tawheed and to understand the religion with the understanding of the Salaf-us-saleh (righteous predecessors). And the Shaikh al-Fiqhee kept rejecting Hassan al-Banna's invitations [to join his deviant group Ikhwanul Muslimeen], and the Shaikh al-Fiqhee kept on telling him, 'this is the way of the Messengers, and I am steadfast upon this.' So they ended up going in different ways.

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) shared some of his extremely disturbing experiences with Ikhwanul Muslimeen and harrowing accounts of their deviance, and thirst for Muslim blood, and making takfeer without due right:

quote:
As a young man, I would go with some of the youth of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, those who lived around me. They used to call me to sit with them and to be part of their group (then he became more acquainted with more of their groups). They used to call me to be part of their group, but Allaah had given me the success at the time to know what Tawheed is, via my brother Shaikh Muhammad al-Banna (rahimahullaah), who was the one who called me to attend the classes and khutbas of Shaikh al-Fiqhi. So Allaah opened my heart to this correct 'aqeedah and I say 'Al-Hamdulillaah for the correct 'aqeedah and manhaj.'

They used to call me to outings and picnics 'where we can get some fresh air and ... in the gardens.' And I used to call them to Tawheed through our discussions whenever an opportunity was available, and they always objected to my speech regarding 'Aqeedah. They always objected to my speech regarding 'Aqeedah. And they always would say 'our 'Shaikh' Hassan al-Banna did not say so.' Because they used to hold the words of Hassan al-Banna as 'Holy Words,' and would never see him as making a mistake. Not just with Hassan al-Banna but also with all the leaders of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, believing that if they agreed with one another - even if it has some negation to Islam - it would strengthen the brotherhood and keep the unity of the group. If a person made a mistake in his statement or khutbah, opposing the truth, they would not correct him or review with him his mistake - 'to preserve the unity' as they were claiming.

I do not mean their leaders were calling to kufr, but they were calling to the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij. They definitely are a misguided group, but they're not disbelievers.

And those times, we would hear via the news that the Egyptian government had found out via the police force and investigating forces that Ikhwanul Muslimeen had hiding places full of weapons and bombs, but the general Egyptian public used to say, 'this is just false claims of the Egyptian government and is not true.' But I myself - with the bounty of Allaah - was called one day by some of the youth of Ikhwanul Muslimeen to one of their meetings on the day of Jumu'ah before salatul Jumu'ah. So they would plan how they would go against the government and their policies with the English (British) who at the time were occupying Egypt. So I went with them to one of the houses of the men of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, and they were talking about how they were going against the head of the Egyptian government Sidqi Basha, and how they were going to make demonstrations and slogans against the government.

So I advised them as best as I can against such actions and, on my way out of that room, I saw two or three men helping one another in carrying a big box. And when they took it off their shoulders, I saw the box was full of guns or pistols. So I started thinking seriously about this group, and about the statements of most of the general public that what was in the newspaper and media accusing the Ikhwanul Muslimeen movement of owning weapons or ammunition, and I saw this to be the truth that no one knew except a few from the ranks of Ikhwanul Muslimeen.

And before all of this, they were training the youth in the arts of fighting on how to be combatants to get ready for 'the main battle,' as they were claiming, through physical excercises and teaching them how to carry weapons and use them in secret places or secret ways.

I didn't go to those [secret] places. When I was in Cairo University, some of the Ikhwanul Muslimeen called us to one of these events. And those holding such excercises were telling the people: 'we must learn how to fight the British and force them to leave Egypt.' The Ikhwanul Muslimeen ranks of file were many and plenty at Cairo University and they were calling the youth to military excercises to come and train with military excercises. One day, we went and did some excercises with them, knowing that these excercises were known to the Egyptian government and they weren't a secret. Then one or two of their ranks, who had knowledge of explosives, came and blew one or two bombs in front of the crowd, bombs called "Sawtiya" (meaning the ones that make a lot of noise but no damage). And they commanded us to land on our stomachs, like they do in the military and so on.

And that excercise was attended by Hassan al-Hudaybi, who later became the leader of Ikhwanul Muslimeen after [founder] Hassan al-Banna died.

And from these incidents that took place after what I've learned - Al-Hamdulillaah - regarding the correct, authentic religion and the clarification, and what the religion says about the different groups that go against the people of the Sunnah and from them the groups of al-Khawaarij and other than them.

After what happened in Egypt that some of the rank and file of the Ikhwanul Muslimeen killed the president of an Egyptian Court because he ruled imprisonment for some of the youth, so they blew up part of that court with bombs or explosives. Then one incident after another, they also killed the president of the police force of the city of Cairo. Then they killed the Prime Minister of Egypt Ahmad Maher Basha, and after him they killed the successive Prime Minister Mahmoud an-Nakrashi basha. Then they killed other then them from the presidents of the government, and the higher ranks of the Egyptian court. And all of this has been documented, and no man can be mistaken about it, and no man after all of this can have good thoughts about Ikhwanul Muslimeen.

Especially [disturbing is] that some of the youth of Ikhwanul Muslimeen when they meet me, they would show happiness for the killing of the Prime Minister or other than him of the rulers whom they considered to be 'kufaar.'

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) then explained how Allaah exposed the reality of Ikhwanul Muslimeen to the public:

quote:
Besides all of this, the news that I am saying now was not known in detail at the time, except for recent days or maybe recent years. And books have been written by some of the members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, those who have broken away from the sect. In addition to what has been written in Egyptian newspapers and what the police force and general security forces have found out regarding Ikhwanul Muslimeen and the weapons and ammunition that they would hide in different apartments around Cairo and other than Cairo. Also more destruction was committed by Ikhwanul Muslimeen that was discovered by the police force in Egypt.

In addition, there was an apartment in Cairo called "Shubra" that was full of ammunitions and weapons. So when the police tried to [raid the apartment] and the general security forces tried to enter the apartment and chase by force the members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen - wal Hamdulillaah - and the members were chased out, then some of the members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen started shooting the police force on the street from different windows in the building, and it turned into a fight back-and-forth with weapons, and so on, with many victims.

Then the news came after that - and before that, too - that Ikhwanul Muslimeen were upon the way of the Khawaarij. It became obvious. And they were instigating the masses to go against the government and against the ruler, and fight the government with weapons and the like.

And from (them) were those who called themselves "Qa'diyah" (the sitters), and al-Qa'dah, by the way, refers to the fact that they are sitting down. They bunker down (for the lack of a better word). They would not fight; rather they would train others to fight and supply them with weapons and ammunition to fight on their behalf. So they gather between instigating the people to fight against the rulers and giving them the weapons to do so, and killing whoever stands in their way from the police force and general security forces.

I'd like to remind you that [these accounts] of Ikhwanul Muslimeen came from the mouths and books and writings of some members of Ikhwanul Muslimeen who broke away from them and exposed their secrets [by the permission and bounty of Allaah].

And lastly, not too long ago, the Shaikh Mahmoud Lutfi'amir (hafidhahullaah) - the Salafi da'ee in the city of Damanhur in Egypt has written two books about Ikhwanul Muslimeen and about their secret structure that has been exposed, and has been mentioned in detail by those who broke away from them.

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) gave an up-to-date on Ikhwanul Muslimeen in Egypt:
quote:
The Egyptian government stopped all Ikhwanul Muslimeen activities - wal-Hamdulillaah - all over the Arab Republic of Egypt. And after all these incidents, today Ikhwanul Muslimeen is still trying - in secret and hiding - to shake down the Egyptian government...This is the reality of Ikhwanul Muslimeen. Allaah decreed it, and He does what He wills.

Here are additional excerpts from the detailed lesson that the Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) gave:

Among those affected by the calls of Ikhwanul Muslimeen:
quote:
Muhammad Adh-Dhawaahiri and Ayman Adh-Dhawaahiri, and Usamah bin Laden. Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) called them "Khawaarij." And Mulla 'Umar (was also affected by the call of Ikhwanul Muslimeen).

About Sunnah and bid'ah, which the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) spoke about in every khutbah, Ikhwanul Muslimeen say:
quote:
There's no need to mention any of this.

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) reflected upon the injury and harm that the deviance of Ikhwanul Muslimeen (and the rest of the Khawaarij) has caused:
quote:
And I feel sorry in my heart as a result of the actions of Ikhwanul Muslimeen - as you've seen from the news and incidents that took place - that a part of the Muslims in Egypt and other lands have deviated from the correct and authentic 'aqeedah (belief), and have fallen into the corrupt 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij, and became - audhoobillaah - a bad reputation for all of us together as Muslims. There's no person in Europe and the rest of the world except that he would say, 'The Muslims are people of fighting and terrorism.'

This also has brought negative attention to the call [itself] to the correct manhaj and the callers to Tawheed, who became lumped along with the (deviated) Muslims. And this is because of the ignorance of some of the people or (maybe due to) some purpose that they have on their own to shake down the Muslims and push the rest of the people away from the correct religion.

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) reminded us to reflect upon the evil result of the 'aqeedah of Ikhwanul Muslimeen (and the rest of the Khawaarij), and be grateful to Allaah that He saved us from it:
quote:
This corrupt 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij has affected all Muslim lands. It is sufficient for the Muslims to hear what the Khawaarij have done, and how they have affected the Muslim society as a whole, that would lead you to hate all of their actions, and it would lead you to declare your innocence from such false ideologies, especially the ideology of the Khawaarij. Also, this should lead us to prostrate to Allaah, and praise Him for guiding us to the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the Understanding of the Salaf-us-saleh, and for being saved from (the ideology of the Khawaarij), such that whoever follows it would be led to the hellfire. Audhoobillaah!

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) warned us from falling for the tricks of those who defend Ikhwanul Muslimeen:
quote:
And don't believe anybody who defends them (Ikhwanul Muslimeen), saying, 'these brothers are good brothers. They have love for Islam; they have honor for Islam'...These are nothing but empty slogans. And if (they truly have love for Islam), this is not the way to express it. But rather, the way to do it is for the Muslims to be gathered together upon the [Prophet's] 'aqidah and manhaj under the banner of the people of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah, upon the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf-us-saleh...

Allaah said: Allaah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah). (An-Nur, ayah 55)

Shaikh Hassan ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab al-Banna (hafidhahullaah) advised:
quote:
If you come across these people, advise them. If they reject, leave them; don't argue with them. ...And don't praise them... And (remember) all of this has taken place by the Qadr of Allaah.

The shaikh also reminded us of this hadeeth:

quote:
Hudhaifah Bin al Yamaan (radiallaahu 'anhu) said: People used to ask the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) about the good times, but I used to ask him about bad times lest they overtake me.

I said: Messenger of Allaah, we were in the midst of ignorance and evil, and then Allaah brought us this good (time through Islam). Is there any bad time after this good one?

He said: Yes.

I asked: Will there be a good time again after that bad time?

He said: Yes, but therein will be a hidden evil.

I asked: What will be the evil hidden therein?

He said: (That time will witness the rise of) the people who will adopt ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know (their) good points as well as (their) bad points.

I asked: Will there be a bad time after this good one?

He said: Yes. (A time will come) when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whosoever responds to their call they will throw them into the fire.

I said: Messenger of Allaah, describe them for us.

He said: All right. They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language.

I said: Messenger of Allaah, what do you suggest if I happen to live in that time?

He said: You should stick to the main body of the Muslims and their leader.

I said: If they have no (such thing as the) main body and have no leader?

He said: Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees (in a jungle) until death comes to you and you are in this state.

(Collected by Bukhari and Muslim. The wording of the above is that of Imaam Muslim)

The shaikh said about this hadeeth:
quote:
This does not mean that a person isolates himself - audhoobillaah. He should still make his salat in Jama'ah and fulfill the rights to Allaah. But if the situation becomes dire - worst-case scenario - he can go to the desert and stay safe from everybody's harm. That also does not mean that a person leaves the land of the Muslims.

Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) described the Khawarij in his explanation of "The Explanation of the Superiority of Islam" and explained which group today is upon their ideology:

quote:
Khawaarij (Kharijites): The first sect that broke away from mainstream Islaam by choosing their own interpretation of religious text over that of the Companions of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

[The Khawaarij] called everyone who committed a major sin (kabeerah) a disbeliever (kaafir) and held it to be incumbent (wajib) upon every Muslim to fight against him. They waged war against the Prophet's companions after the death of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and were eventually defeated by an army led by 'Alee ibn Abi Talib (radiallaahu 'anhu) at the Battle of An-Nahrawaan.

However, their ideas still remained with some people and they developed other deviant theological and political views that always set them at war with the rest of the Muslim Ummah. Most of their sub-sects have now vanished; however some remnants of them are still found in South-Eastern parts of the Arabian Peninsula.

Their ideas also have been revived in teachings of Hasan al-Banna [the deviant founder of this group; not be confused with the righteous scholar by the same name who is still alive, hafidhahullaah], Sayyid Qutb, and those groups that embrace their teachings such as Al-Ikhwaan ul-Muslimeen ("the Muslim Brotherhood").

Starting point of Qutubism is takfir of all Muslim societies, nation states; end goal is "establishment of Allaah's rule upon the earth" by bloody, violent revolutions

Ayyoob as-Sakhtiyaanee (rahimahullaah) said,
quote:
"Verily, the Khawaarij differ in their names, but they are agreed upon the usage of the sword." (Related by ash-Shaatibee in al-I'tisaam (1/113).)

quote:
Sayyid Qutb emerged in the late 1950s and he brought the innovations of takfeer and haakimiyyah, and revived the madhhab of the Khawaarij, after considerable influence from Abu A'laa Mawdudi of the Indo-Pak subcontinent. Thus, [Qutb] unleashed the ideas of takfeer, rebellion and revolution and clashing, violence and bloodshed towards the authorities upon the Ummah, propounding all of this as a methodology of "reform." This led to greater tribulations in the Ummah in the decades to follow.

He [Qutb] joined the Ikhwanil Muslimeen at a time when they were working with "the Free Officers" to plot an overthrow against King Farooq and his monarchy. The Free Officers were top army officials, and included colonel Jamaal 'Abd an-Nasser, and colonel Anwar Sadat (both were also friends of Ikhwanee founder Hassan al-Bannaa who was assassinated in 1949). Anwar Sadat, in his own account, explained that Sayyid Qutb was the main theoretician behind the Free Officers revolution against the monarchy, and had the coup failed Qutb would have been killed. ...For more, click HERE:

Here is an excerpt from "The Creed of Imaam al-Albani on the Issues of Takfir and Apostasy," which is an explanation of the deception of the Qutubiyyah

quote:
Know - dear brother and sister in Islam - that Qutubism is an ideology that has departed from the dictates of the Book and the Sunnah, and has entered into the confines of ignorance and bid'ah. The starting point of Qutubism is takfir of all Muslim societies and nation states, and the end goal is the establishment of Allaah's rule upon the earth by bloody and violent revolutions. And what leads from the starting point to the end point is but incitement to civil discord and strife in the land alongside the many innovated principles and ideas of Qutubism [a reference to the ideology of Qutubi founder Sayyid Qutb] and Banaa`ism [a reference to the ideology of Ikhwanee founder Hassan al-Banna].

The main Qutbi innovation being: takfir of all Muslim societies and nation states.

The main Bannawi innovation being: the accomodation of every Innovator and Misguided Deviant, and showing love and affection and nearness to them all.

And these two principles are the pillars of the Qutubi da'wah, in essence - and from which the other innovated Qutubi principles and fundamental or subsidiary teachings are derived.

Read below how Qutb's gulping of deviant teachings (materialist philosophies, especially Marxist Socialism) in opposition to Islam and his subsequent doubts about the religion of Islam influenced his 'aqidah and writing later on - the same ignorance-based literature that deviants today favor and use as their manhaj (methodology) en route to extremism, all in opposition to the pure methodology revealed from Allaah to His final Messenger Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). And this is despite the righteous scholars' repeated warnings of Qutb's ideology, books and ways that lead to corruption.

Here is an excerpt regarding Qutb from Readings in Elementary Communism: Karl Marx, Freidrich Engels, Sayyid Qutb, Capitalism, the State, Social Justice, Revolution and the Communist Manifesto

quote:
A man poisoned with Western and European materialist philosophies for much of his life, with none as his teachers except [philosopher] 'Abbas al-Aqqaad and the authors of those books he was "gulping" (mostly Western philosophers). He then turned towards Islam and started writing books. And thus, with no knowledge of either the foundations of Islaam or its branches, he brought in his books calamities upon calamities - the bid'ahs of the Jahmiyyah, Mu'tazilah, Ash'ariyyah, Mufawwidah, Jabariyyah, Ittihaadiyyah. He brought the maxims and philosophies of secular atheist Jews (Communism) and fused them with Islam, claiming Islam is a fusion, blend of such philosophies along with Christianity. He attacked the Companions of Allaah's Messenger on account of the "Social Justice" he envisaged through those Communist Marxist ideals.

Then in 1952, he was instrumental in the July revolution, a Socialist, Marxist, Leninist type revolution through which Jamal 'Abdul-Nasser came to power. And when he [Qutb] fell out with this former comrade and was put into prison in 1954, he then started penning down the Communist Revolutionary Manifesto embodied in Leninism in his books "Milestones" and "az-Zilal", which became the spring and fountain for the madhhab of the Khawaarij. And he did not outline his revolutionary doctrines because he was imprisoned, being forced due to the circumstances, out of anger and resentment, as some people claim. Rather he was already ideologically upon that, and he'd plotted one successful socialist revolution already.

So the Communist Revolutionary Manifesto and what it contained of the notions of "Social Justice" [think Dhul-Khuwaisarah and the "unfair distribution" of "capital" and "injustice" he accused the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) of] and "revolution" [think the revolution of 'Abdullah bin Saba' against the third Khalifah 'Uthman (radiallaahu anhu)] - these notions became the backbone for the 'aqidah of the 20th-Century Khawaarij who were nurtured upon the works of Sayyid Qutb, all of whom strangely and ironically enough, came out in the name of "al-Haakimiyyah" itself.

Marx, Engels and Lenin brought the Qutbiyyah their "Social Justice", "State" and "Revolution" - just like those Jews and Christians brought al-Ma'bad al-Juhanee, al-Ja'd bin Dirham and al-Jahm bin Safwan their doctrines of the negation of al-Qadar, the "Qur'an being created," and the negation of Allaah's Attributes. And just as those innovators put the Ummah to trial with a mighty tribulation (the fitnah of the "creation of the Qur'an"), then indeed the 20th-century Jahmite Ash'ari, Sufi Mufawwidhs of Egypt put the Ummah to trial with a mighty tribulation with their "fikr" that unleashed untold splits, divisions, vile hizbiyyah like never seen before with fanatical bigotry through the jamaa'aat (groups) and jam'iyyaat (societies) they spawned, let alone the destructive Extremism in Takfir, Takfir of the whole Ummah, of its rulers, scholars and general-folk, in addition to the ideological justification of terrorism in both Muslim and non-Muslim lands against innocent men, women and children.

Shaikh Muhammaad ibn Saleh al-'Uthaimeen (rahimahullaah) warned of the Qutbi Manhaj, distinguishing between the upright Salafi Manhaj that Allaah revealed to His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and the corrupt Qutbi Manhaj founded by Sayyid Qutb. Refutation of Deviant Qutbi statement: "Ummaah is absent," takfeer of all Ummah

Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said about this Khariji, Qutbi doubt found in Sayyid Qutb's deviant book Ma'aalim fit-Tareeq "Milestones" (p.8, 17th edition, 1991):

quote:
The saying that the Muslim "Ummah is absent," then Takfir of all of the Islamic nations is necessitated from it, since its meaning is that there is no Islamic state, and this is in opposition to the saying of the Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam):
quote:
There will never cease to be a group from my Ummah upon the truth, uppermost. They will not be harmed by those who desert them or those who oppose them, until the affair of Allaah - the Blessed and Exalted - arrives, and they are in this state.

So regardless of how much misguidance, differing, and disbelief might occur, then this safe and secure group will always remain.

Hence, there is no such thing as the "absence" of the Islamic Ummah, and all praise is due to Allaah. And nor is it a required condition for this Islamic Society, or this Aided Group, that it is devoid of sins, since sins were found in the time of the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam), and also in the time of his Khulafaa. However, they [the sins] were stood up against and were rejected.

Advice from Shaikh an-Najmee that serves as Interjectory Reminder of Ocean of Difference between Tawheed, righteousness Allaah commands Mankind with and clear-as-day Deviance of Khawaarij in stark opposition to what Allaah revealed

After praising Allaah subhanahu wa ta'aala and asking Allaah to send salaam upon the Prophet, his family and companions, Shaikh Ahmad ibnu Yahya an-Najmee (rahimahullaah) said:

This is directed to our brothers in Britian. I advise myself and you with the Taqwa of Allaah, to be dutiful to and fearful of Allaah. I advise you with Istiqammah...and to be upright upon the Salafi Manhaj (Methodology). This manhaj is such that there is no salvation for anyone of the people except by proceeding upon that methodology. And that manhaj is acting upon the Book of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, and obeying the commands in that Book and staying away from whatever is forbidden in that Book.

And that we believe in the matters of the Ghayb (hidden and Unseen) that Allaah informed us of in the Book (Qur`an), and that we have eeman in whatever is described in the Book, and whatever will occur in the future, close to the Hour, or at the Hour, or after the establishment of the Hour, and regarding the Resurrection, and things that will happen therein, and the establishment of the scales of justice, and the opening of the record of deeds, and the Sirat that will be laid down over the fire, and so on from the affairs that Allaah, the Perfect and Most High, informed us of in His Book and upon the tongue of His Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). We must have Eeman in them. So this is the Salafi methodology, so proceed upon it and act in that manner.

After advising you and counceling you with that, I warn the brothers from following other maanahij (methodologies), newly invented methodologies, methodologies which contradict the Book and the Sunnah and (maanahij) that are contrary to what the salaf were upon. [I warn you of] methodologies that entail takfir - declaring Muslims [to be] disbelievers without a just cause. Methodologies that bring about killing of the Muslims, and killing of disbelievers who live within the land of the Muslim with a guarantee of safety. [I warn you of methodologies that entail] killing of women and children, and suicide missions, blowing themselves up and whoever is nearby - women, children, Muslims, disbelievers all blown up by these explosions.

The like of this...they are the methodology of the Khawaarij, whom the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) warned against. [Then the shaikh mentioned many ahadeeth that have already preceeded in this Topic.]

These are the people - the Khawaarij - who declare Muslims to be "kaafirs," Muslims who pray, Muslims who fast, Muslims who carry out acts of 'ibaadah, without any legitimate reason for that. This is very serious and a severe affair. To Allaah we belong, and to Allaah we shall return. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 156)

quote:
What is required from people is Tawheed, the worship of Allaah alone. What is required from us is Tawheed, salat, zakat, fasting, and Hajj, and recitation of the Qur`an, and we make haram what Allaah made haram, such as Ribaa, devouring other people's wealth without right - even though the Khawaarij (themselves) fall into these. What is required from people is Tawheed.

Allaah says (what means): And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allaah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat: and that is the right religion. (Al-Baiyinah, ayah 5)

This is what is upon us - not the way of the Khawaarij.

They [the Khawaarij] are coming with something new. The Khawaarij make the blood of the Muslim "halal" ("lawful"), whereas Allaah, The Most High, said: "...if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind... (Al-Ma`idah, ayah 32)

And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allaah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him. (An-Nisa, ayah 93)

The Khawaarij kill men, women and children, they commit suicide, they kill themselves, suicide missions, killing others. This is something forbidden in the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah.

Allaah, The Most High, said: And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another)... (An-Nisa, ayah 29)

These are people who go beyond the limits - ghuloo (extremism).

quote:
The Khawaarij of today are worse than the Khawaarij before. The Khawaarij then claimed they were correct. The Khawaarij today have thrown that out the window, and the religion has become killing - killing men, killing women, killing children, killing Muslims, killing disbelievers. It has become the whole of their religion.

So we have explained the true religion of Allaah, and that the Khawaarij are those who have deviated away from the truth, and are to be kept away from.

Question and Answers

First Question: The shaikh (rahimahullaah) was asked about those who make excuses for the Khawaarij, those who kill the Muslims and cause corruption to people's property and those like Bin Laden:

First Answer: Those who make excuses for them, then they are just like them. They are misguided, astray, just like them.

Second Question: What is the ruling concerning the one who gives a fatwah that "it is correct to enter into elections" and praises the democracy of the kufaar?

Second Answer: The elections are a bid'ah, newly introduced. And whoever gives a fatwah allowing election, then he has no doubt erred. And we ask Allaah to guide this person. [The shaikh may not have heard the second part of the question, regarding Democracy.]

Amma ba'd

Beware of Hizb-ut-Tahreer, another modern group upon the ideology of the Khawaarij

Another off-shoot of the Khawaarij is Hizb-ut-Tahreer, a deviant sect with extreme ideologies whose true goal is revolution preceeded by takfeer of Muslim lands. Deceiving ignorant Muslims with claims of "working for the Khilafah," they blatantly ignore the conditions for the Khilafa set forth by Allaah, thereby opposing Allaah with this and other innovations in addition to opposing the methodology of all the Messengers in calling to Allaah.

This group was founded by a Palestenian named Taqi ud-Din an-Nabahani who came from a Soofee family and had an Ash'aree 'aqidah mixed with some of the usool of the Mu'tazila, Murji'ah and Qadariyyah, drawing his 'Aqidah from the deviant sects that arose after the death of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - deviant sects that the companions and subsequent Imaams of Ahl us-Sunnah severly rejected.

At one point, Taqi ud-Din an-Nabahani was even upon the 'Aqidah of Hizb ul-Ba'th (the Ba'th Party, i.e. Socialism for the Arabs), a secular revolutionary ideology which strongly influenced his own political philosophies that were clothed with the garb of Islaam.

Like other revolutionary deviants Hassan al-Banna, Sayyid Qutb and Abu A'laa Mawdudi, Hizb ut-Tahreer founder Taqi ud-Din an-Nabahani is responsible for calling many Muslims away from the authentic 'Aqeedah and Methodology that Allaah ('Azza wa Jall) revealed upon the heart of His final Messenger Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

An-Nabahani - like al-Banna, Qutb and Mawdudi - diverted a great deal of Muslims away from prioritizing and learning Tawheed and the Sunnah, and learning to free oneself of that which opposes them from Shirk and Bid'ah. Today, the initiates of Hizb ut-Tahreer are called to extremism and making takfir, and rebelling against Muslim leaders and governments. Of course, this causes havoc on Muslim societies - not rectification - and splits and weakens the Ummah instead of unifying it.

An-Nabahani openly disconnected the call of this deviant group from the call of Allaah's Messengers, blatantly opposing it and even openly admitting that his politics was the goal. Proof for the above can be found in this link: Hizb ut-Tahreer

It is a group that openly gives precedence to their non-legislated politics above learning the foundations of the religion, and - like many deviant sects - prefers numbers over Eeman. Allaahu Musta'aan.

quote:
It is clear that the methodology of [Hizb-ut-Tahreer] is purely political and it does not focus in reality on teaching Muslims the foundations of their belief and encouraging them upon purification of the soul and individual rectification in one's beliefs and worship, and striving to make worship for Allaah alone, and rescuing them from setting up rivals and partners for Allaah in worship - which was the very specific purpose and goal of all of the Messengers (alayhim us-salaam).

Initiates are cultivated upon the erroneous idea that the Islamic Khilaafah was ended in 1924CE, that all Muslim lands have thus become lands of kufr, against which a revolution is necessary (obligatory), that this revolution begins ideologically by mobilizing the society. And as working to re-establish the khilaafah is the greatest obligation (today) that one is sinful for not engaging in such work (therefore, initiates are convinced to work with this group or within the framework of Nabahani's teachings) with the claim that it is obligatory to work with them, as there is no other alternative group performing this obligation.

Within this framework, political work (meaning their specific methodology) is presented as integral to Islaam, but what is meant by politics is not the true and real Sharee'ah politics (which is the domain of the rulers and the scholars within an existing Islamic state), but an innovated form of politics that takes place in the absence of an Islamic state, through ways and means that have no basis in the Shari'ah but are derived fundamentally from sources alien to Islaam. The group relies upon a distorted representation of the Prophetic Seerah which is portrayed in purely political terms, completely divorced from its core message (of Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah).

In order to amass the greatest number of followers, an-Nabahani presented a particular 'aqidah, coming from the angle that by adhering strictly to his rational perspective on aqidah, the differences between Muslims can be minimized (and thus more easily amassed into a political force). Thus if they accept only the Qur'an and mutawatir hadeeth, with the intellect as the definitive (qat'ee) proof, a minimalistic common aqidah can be united upon by the largest number of people. It is an integral part of the program that initiates are indoctrinated upon this specific aqidah of an-Nabahani to bring about the wider political objectives.

Hizb-ut-Tahreer is an extremely ignorant group, which borrows from the 'aqidah of the Mu'tazila in giving precedence to their 'Aql (intellect) over the Naql (Quran and Sunnah), deviantly claiming these times call for giving precedence to the 'Aql and their [non-legislated, heretical] politics over the Naql. Aoodhubillaah!

They claim these times are for giving precedence to the intellect over the revelation from Allaah subhanahu wa ta'aala - Aoodhubillaah! - whereas Allaah commanded all of mankind to abide by the Sharee'ah of Muhammad [the Qur`an and Sunnah] until the Last Day, such that 'Eesa (Jesus) ibnu Mariam will rule by this same Sharee'ah (not the Injeel) near the end of time.

quote:
But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. (An-Nisa, ayah 65)

O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allaah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allaah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. (An-Nisa, ayah 59)

Hizb ut-Tahreer can be so hasty in making takfir of Muslim rulers that they commit absurd leaps to takfir of Muslim leaders for acts that are not only not kufr, but for acts that are not even haram - acts that are actually a Sunnah such as tijaara (business dealings) with the kufaar, an act the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) taught us. And of course, our righteous scholars today (and past, such as Ibn Baaz, rahimahumullaah ajma'een) are not safe from the tongues of the oppressive and misguided Hizb ut-Tahreer who curse, slander and make takfir of inheritors of the Prophets - for teaching and calling to what Allaah revealed upon the heart of the Prophet of this Ummah, Muhammad ibn 'Abdullaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

Hizb ut-Tahreer almost always begins its call with the Seerah, but instead use a "distorted representation of the Prophetic Seerah which is portrayed in purely political terms, completely divorced from its core message (of Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah)." They are ignorant or pretend to be ignorant of the core of the Seerah, which in reality - of course - is singling out Allaah in worship, and imitating the Prophet (salallaahu 'alahi wa sallam) in doing so.

quote:
Political parties such as Hizb ut-Tahrir, and al-Ikhwan al-Muslimoon wish to establish the Islamic State before purifying the lands of idolatrous beliefs which take shape in the worship of the dead, and devotion to tombs. The situation is much worse when we realise that in the Ash'ari aqidah of the likes of an-Nabahani and al-Banna, Tawheed does not extend further than affirming a Creator with some of His attributes - and this is not the Tawheed that the Messengers came with.

Since Allaah, the Most High, has promised the granting of authority upon the earth only with the establishment of Tawhid and the abolition of Shirk, these people are attempting that which is impossible, and their vain, fruitless efforts over the last 60-70 years is the greatest of proof for that.

Allaah the Most High said:

Allaah has promised those who truly believe (have true eemaan) amongst you, and work righteous deeds (in obedience to Allaah and His Messenger), that He will grant them rulership upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them, and that He will establish their religion for them, grant them authority to practise the religion which He chose for them and ordered. And He will certainly change their situation to one of security, after their fear, providing that they worship and obey Me, not associating anything else in worship with Me. Then whoever rejects this favour by disobedience to their Lord, then they are the rebellious transgressors. (An-Nur 24:55)

The above verse establishes that on the condition that the Muslims:

Have correct, sound eemaan - which is not the eemaan of the various deviant sects, but the eemaan of the Companions, their aqidah, and that of whoever followed them in goodness, Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah, the Righteous Salaf. However, the Mu'tazili, Ash'ari, Murji', Qadariyy Innovators such as an-Nabahani are the very people responsible for promoting the splits and deviations amongst the Muslims. Their books are filled with the very heresies that misguided, divided, split and weakened the Muslims in the first place!

Perform correct, valid, sincere, righteous deeds in obedience to Allaah. This excludes the innovations and newly-invented matters with which the Ummah has been put to trial. The call of this party is purely political and they explicitly state that their call is not one that focuses on cultivation upon knowledge and the purification and cultivation of the soul upon righteous deeds. And an-Nabahani states that morals (khuluq, akhlaaq) do not play any primary role in the formation of a society, and that rectification and cultivation in terms of morals and characters do little to change the situation.

Worship Allaah alone upon Tawhid. When Tawhid to an-Nabahani does not extend beyond affirming a Creator with some Attributes (as per the Ash'ari and Maturidi creeds), and this is what is apparent in all his books, then the call to that Tawhid which the Messengers called to is non-existent with these people, and wherever they go and in whichever land they operate, they are not interested in the beliefs and practices (i.e. as it relates to Tawhid and the Sunnah) of the people as much as they are interested in operating their party upon its ideological principles, and indoctrinating the people upon this to swell their party numbers.

Abandon shirk in all its forms and manifestations. Unfortunately, we see that the Ummah is plagued with major shirk in that they have resorted to worshipping saints, graves, tombs and the likes, and there is hardly a Muslim country, with just a couple of exceptions, where this shirk is found amongst the people, and accepted, without rejection. And likewise there is gross ignorance regarding minor shirk, about which the Prophet feared the most for his Ummah and about which he said is more hidden than an ant on a black rock on a moonless night.

So when the Muslims are characterized by these four qualities, it is Allaah Himself Who will:

- Grant them rulership (authority) upon the land
- Establish their religion for them, the one that He is pleased with for them
- Change their situation from one of fear to security

So aside from falling into and calling to a deviant sect from the 72 sects of the Hellfire, and weakening and splitting up the Ummah, Hizb-ut-Tahreer is attempting to do the impossible.

Hizb ut-Tahreer expose themselves as extremists whose aim is takfeer of those in authority - to gain public support by way of deception - and then bloody revolution

Shaikh Saleem al-Hilaalee (hafidhahullaah) said about Hizb ut-Tahreer:
quote:
What is more dangerous is that they have turned all their attention to accusing the rulers (saying) 'this one is an American (stooge), this one is a British (stooge)' - as if there were no one else in the worlds except America and Britain, and as if it were America and Britain who were running the affairs of creation.

And this causes people to turn away from the correct understanding of their Deen and away from Allaah's way of changing the affairs. They think that if they change the ruler, they will attain what they desire - and this is contrary to the natural way laid down by Allaah with reagrd to changes which come about amongst the creation:
quote:
Verily never will Allah change a condition of a people until they change what is within their souls.
(Surah Ra'd, ayah 11)

Click: to read more from Shaikh Saleem al-Hilaalee on the mistakes in 'Aqidah of Hizb ut-Tahreer, as well as answers to questions about Hizb ut-Tahreer.

quote:
For this reason, they are easily recognizable, no matter how much camouflage and obfuscation they try to create, at some point or other, they have to express the innovation they are calling to in reality, and express their resentment and hatred of the Scholars, Takfir of the Scholars and Takfir of Rulers and of Muslim nation-states, they have to express their Qadari-I'tizali outlook through their calls for revolution (ideologically or otherwise).

The methodology that Hizb ut-Tahrir and "al-Muhajiroon" were implementing in the 1990s and which they learned from an-Nabahani has three phases:

- The stage of ideological change when - in closed circles - they recruit and brainwash people with their ideology

- The stage of open preaching

- And finally the bloody confrontation

This is simply another adaption of the "Revolutionary Vanguard" in Qutb's Leninism that was penned by Qutb in the late 1950s and early 1960s in his works Milestones and also in az-Zilaal. And al-Muhajiroon and Hizb ut-Tahrir are still upon that today. There were no real significant differences between Hizb ut-Tahrir and al-Muhajiroon except on the issue of where should the "khilafah" be established, should it be only in the Muslim lands, or can it be called for even in non-Muslim lands? So they differed on this matter and few other minor matters.

Hizb ut-Tahreer Extremists who deny Extremism!

Student of knowledge Hassan as-Somali (hafidhahullaah) said at the beginning of a talk under the heading Al-Qa'idah and al-Khawaarij: Two Names, one ideology:

And before we start, it is befitting that we reply to a doubt that has been spread in the various communities by the misguided group known as Hizb ut-Tahreer [which] stated, "there is no such thing in Islaam as an extremist." Again, this shows the ignorance of this group and their lack of understanding of the text of the Book and the Sunnah. Because whether they fail to recognize or maybe it is due to them actually being ignorant... the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) spoke about extremism.

In one hadeeth - upon the authority of the disciple, companion 'Abdullaah ibn Mas'ood (radiallaahu 'anhu) - the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
Those who go to extremes will be destroyed. Those who go to extremes will be destroyed. Those who go to extremes will be destroyed.

And Imam an-Nawawee (rahimahullaah), a famous scholar of Islam, explained this to mean: "This is referring to those people who go too deep, go beyond bounds and are extreme in their sayings and in their actions." And the Khawaarij and Al-Qa'idah and Hizb ut-Tahreer are from those extremists.

And in another hadeeth, the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
Iyaakum wal ghuloo fee-Deen, faa innama ahlaka ma kana qablakum al-ghuloo fee-Deen (Beware of extremism in the Religion, because verily that which destroyed those who came before you was extremism in the religion.).

If these deviant sects - those upon the ideology of the Khawaarij - can kill 'Alee ibn Abi Talib (the fourth Calipha, the fourth best companion, the relative of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam)), then they can kill anyone else, especially a non-Muslim...They don't value life. ...The terrorism of Al-Qa'idah and the terrorism of al-Khawaarij is the exact same; there is no difference!

quote:
The Khawaarij prey upon ignorant people, people who don't understand their religion. That's why you found Hizb ut-Tahreer and (the group that calls itself) "Al-Muhaajiroon"... Where was their focus in the 1990s and likewise in the beginning of this year and last year and the year before last. Where was their primary focus? Who can answer? [Yes,] universities.

Universities!

Why? Because the majority of the people in the universities were unaware, not really understanding their religion. Yes, they were Muslims, but they didn't have the grounding and understanding that would be needed to repel and refute the doubts of these people, even though their doubts are weak.
So when people ask, 'Why is it that we find British-born citizens blowing up themselves? Then the answer is because you allowed Omar Bakri to preach in the university for the last 10 years, and other individuals who are like him.

Do Not Be Deceived by the Khawaarij - No Matter what they Promise you!

Know - may Allaah safeguard you - that evil will not always come to you in the shape of evil. Evil often comes like when Iblees (may Allaah curse him) pushed Adam and Eve to eat from the tree so that they become "immortal" and "angels."

As Mufaddal ibn Mahallal (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
"If the companion of the bid'ah were to speak to you about his bid'ah at the beginning of sitting with him, then you would have kept away from him and left. But he will speak to you at the beginning with the Sunnah, then he will put in you his bid'ah and your heart accepts it, so when will it leave your heart?"

Likewise, the Khawaarij invite one another to make takfeer of Muslim rulers (and other Muslims) and encourage one another to subsequent barbaric acts of terrorism, but they don't call it extremism and terrorism - much in the same way the Sufi grave-worshippers don't call invoking the dead what it is (Shirk) but rather call it "loving the righteous", and much in the same way polytheists don't call the act of invoking others besides Allaah what it is (Shirk) but rather they call it "getting nearer to Allaah." Of course, changing the name does not change the reality, and Allaah is All-Knowing of the seen and the unseen, and what is in the open and what is kept secret in the breast.

Likewise, the Khawaarij give their actions another name - "Jihaad." And the Khawaarij falsely "promise" those who will pay them attention that which Allaah only promised the true Mujaahideen (martyrs).

These Khawaarij will show video of Muslims dying [especially at events such as summer camps, so parents beware!], and they charge up the ignorant young men and even children with emotion - whereas Islam is based upon revelation from Allaah (Qur`an and Sunnah) and not emotion.

And these Khawaarij will Not introduce themselves to you as Khawaarij, saying "As-salamu 'alaykum, I am Anwar al-'Awlaki, a Kharijee." or "As-salamu 'alaykum, I am Abdullaah Faisal, a Kharijee." Rather, they will come with deception and trickery, borrowing from the manhaj of shaytan and inviting to the paths that stray away from Siratul Mustaqeem!

Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) describes those who claim they are performing "Jihad" for the sake of Allaah by committing suicide as actually fighting for the sake of Satan. Read: Those Who Commit Suicide in the Name of "Jihad" are Actually Followers of Satan

They will come to you with a smile, shake your hand, give you their pamphlets, invite you to general talks until they know you, and then they will distort the same ayaat and ahadeeth they quoted earlier in an attempt to lure you away from what Allaah revealed down to His final Prophet, Muhammad ibn 'Abdullaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). This is why it is extremely important to understand the Qur`an and Sunnah in the same exact manner the Sahaaba (companions) understood the Qur`an and Sunnah from the teachings of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), about whom Allaah said (what means): Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only revelation revealed to him!

[Reflect - may Allaah safeguard you - that the people upon the correct Islam do not deceive. Those truly upon the 'aqeedah and manhaj of Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) [i.e. true Ahlus Sunnah wal-Jama'ah (in some lands, they are called "Salafi", in other lands they are called "Ahlul-Hadeeth", in other lands they are called "Atharee" or "Ahlul-Athaar", but their 'aqeedah and manhaj is one)] abide by The Methodology of the Prophets in calling to Allaah. They call upon baseerah with sincerity to what the Prophets of Allaah called to, and prioritize what the Prophets of Allaah prioritized - Tawheed, singling out Allaah in each act of worship, such as du'aa, seeking refuge, sacrifice, reliance, sujood, ruku', oaths, awe, reverance... And they do this without fearing the blame of the blamers or watering down the call no matter how many suitcases full of money are dangled in front of them. If those who are called to the truth accept, verily all Praise is for Allaah. If they don't, the sincere callers have done what was upon them and their reward is still with Allaah, Who guides whom He wills. Click here for the Pillars of calling to Allaah]

So do not be deceived by these Khawaarij. Be warned - again - that they will not acknowledge themselves to be from the Khawaarij. Rather, they will call themselves Ikhwanul Muslimeen ("Ikhwanees"), or Qutbi, or Hizb ut-Tahreer, or Suroori, or Turaathiyaah, or al-Qa'diyah, or "al-Muhajiroon", or Jamaa'at al-Jihaad, or Jama'atul-Hijrah wat-Takfeer, or Hamas, or Jamaa'at ul-Islaamee of Pakistan, or Jamaa'at ul-Islaamee of Egypt, or Islamic "Jihaad" of Palestine, or Hizbollah of South Lebanon, or FIS and GIA, or the 'Salafist Group For Preaching and Combat' of Algeria, or Taliban, or Usamah bin Ladin's Al-Qaedah.

And keep in mind that True Jihaad (with its legislated conditions) - undoubtedly the peak of Islaam - benefits the religion of Islaam, whereas terrorism and suicide bombings and other bombings and acts of terror harm the religion of al-Islaam.

And this is why the scholars have advised us that it is wajib (obligatory) to stop an eminent act of terrorism. The benefits of such are:

quote:
1- You stop them from harming themselves (suicide).
2- You stop them from harming the innocent.
3- You stop them from harming Islam.
4- You stop them from harming the rest of the Muslims.

As we learned from the scholars: if we see a man attempting terrorism, we advise him and/or inform the imam. And if they continue, then inform the authorities - even non-Islamic authorities. Na'am (Yes)!

quote:
Question posed to Shaikh Muhammad Abdul-Wahab Marzooq al-Banna (rahimahullaah): Is it permissible to inform the disbelieving authorities about another Muslim who is deviant in his methodology and understanding of Islam since that person will cause harm to the Muslim society and the society at large?

Answer by Shaikh Muhammad Abdul-Wahab Marzooq al-Banna (rahimahullaah):
quote:
In times of trials like this in which we are in: if a Muslim is asked about the condition of another Muslim, [and] that Muslim whom he's being asked about is upon a way or methodology that is different from what Islam came with - [for example, if he is upon] killings and attacking without just cause - then it is upon that person who is asked to say that which he knows about those people.

He should say the truth openly. Because in that there is a prevention of these types of attacks and killings that take place which oppose the way of Islam. At the same time by doing so, the person being asked removes doubts [about] himself in the minds of those people (asking). Such that, if he had hidden anything, they would have considered him to also be a terrorist in the same way.

The actions of the Khawaarij or killing people without cause and just reason or destroying companies and buildings, this has nothing to do with Islam in the slightest!

As for the "proof" that some [ignorant] people use by saying that whoever transgresses against you, then you transgress against them similarly, this is with regard to two people similar in status. Rather your Lord says: And if you forgive, then this is closer to piety. And He also says: And if he forgives, then his reward is with Allaah. On top of that, we all see the results of these types of attacks and these types of unjustified killings and the way that it has brought harm to the Muslims - maybe even bad thoughts and misunderstanding about Islam in itself.

quote:
Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
So, anyone who falls into these issues, he should be sincerely advised and explained the reality of these matters. If he desists, then thanks are due to Allaah.

If he does not desist yet he keeps quiet and does not actually do anything, then leave him - his sin is upon himself.

But if he actually and outwardly does something to deceive other Muslims or always talks about it, spreading this filthy ideology, then it is an obligation to turn him in.

This is a part of being sincere to Allaah, His book, His messenger, to the Muslim leaders and the common people.

So know - may Allaah safeguard you from all evil - that only Allaah can reward, and know that He legislated Two (not one but two) requirements for a deed to be accepted from a Muslim:

1- Sincerity: the deed must be done sincerely seeking the face of Allaah, seeking only the reward from Allaah; the intention must be free from seeking by that deed praise of the people and must be free from seeking status (position) and must also be free from seeking wealth, all this in accordance with the statement of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam):
quote:
Verily actions are by intentions, and for every person is what he intended... (Bukhari)

And...

2- Conformity to the Sunnah: the deed must be done in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), who said:
quote:
Whosoever does an action not in accordance with our matter [Sunnah], then it will be rejected. (Muslim)

Abdullaah ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu 'anhumma) said:
quote:
Every innovation is misguidance, even if the people regard it as good. (ad-Daarimee)

quote:
Allaah (subhanahu wa ta'aala) said (what means): So whoever hopes for the Meeting with his Lord, let him work righteousness and associate none as a partner in the worship of his Lord. (al-Kahf, ayah 110)

In his tafseer of the ayah, Imaam Ibn Katheer (rahimahullaah) wrote:
quote:
So for an action to be acceptable, it has to fulfill two conditions. Firstly, it must be sincere for Allaah alone. Secondly, it must be correct in accordance with the Shari'ah. So if the action is sincere, but not correct, it will not be acceptable.
(Tafsirul-Qur'anil 'Adheem (3/114))

Al-Fudayl ibn 'Iyyad (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
Allaah 'azza wa jall accepts only those deeds which are both correct and sincere (pure). If the deed is done correctly but not sincerely, it will not be accepted. And if it is sincere but not correct, it will not be accepted." He was asked, "Abu 'Ali (calling him by his kunya)! What is the sincere and correct deed?" He replied, "The sincere deed is one that is done only for Allaah 'azza wa jall. And the correct deed is one done according to the Sunnah. (Abu Nu'aym, Hilyah Al-Awliya Vol.8, p95.)

May Allaah safeguard the Muslims from the plots of shaytan and shaytan's wicked soldiers.

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.

The Evil of Surooriyah, a revolutionary off-shoot of the Khawaarij!

Surooriyah is an ascription to its astray founder Muhammad Suroor bin Naayif Zayn-ul-'Aabideen, a takfeeri who ascribes to the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij, harbors hatred for the books of 'Aqeedah, shows and conveys displeasure with the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah, and shows severe hatred and opposition to the genuine scholars of Islaam - whom he slanders for a specific purpose - and Salafees (Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jama'ah) as a whole.

Shaykh Yahya Al Hajuri (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
Qutbiyyah and Surooriyyah are revolutionary Takfiris.
{Taken from the book: Al Majmoo Ath Thamin min Aqwaal An Nasih Al Amin}

Imaam Muqbil (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
As for Surooriyyah, then it is an attribution to the brother Muhammad Suroor and he is a Syrian brother. Indeed in the beginning, his condition - the apparent of it was uprightness - and this is the hizbee's situation. They conceal and don't reveal what is with them [of deviance] until their strength increases and they know that criticism won't affect them, then they start to make apparent what is with them gradually. {Taken from the book: Al Majmoo Ath Thamin min Aqwaal An Nasih Al Amin

Muhammad Suroor has also been described as:
quote:
...the notorious innovator, al-mubtadi', Muhammad Suroor Zainul-Aabideen. In brief, he is from the major heads of the modern-day Khawaarij. His hatred for the scholars is well-known. [He is] likewise well-known for his declaration that all the rulers of every Muslim land are "apostates." He is currectly being protected by the British authorities and is under political assylum.

He is the 'ideology' behind the cameleon-like organization based in London called 'Al-Muntadah Al-Islaamee'. He also is the head of the deviated, Khaarijee publication called 'As-Sunnah'. A magazine full of the ideas of the innovators and marxist-affected political activists. This magazine is published by another organization headed by him called 'Dar Al-Arqam' in Birmingham.

The term 'Surooree' is given to anyone who adopts the idealogy of this evil innovator.

Muhammad Suroor stated in the early nineties that the Scholars - and by direct implication Ibn Baaz and Ibn al-Uthaimeen - were "slaves of the CIA and the Jews."

This Muhammad Suroor is truly a foul individual with foul ideas. He was raised upon the ideas of Sayyid Qutb and Mawdoodee. He stated that the books of 'Aqeedah of the Salaf are 'dry' and useless for our times.

Al-Mujaddid Ibn Baaz, rahimahullah, said that this statement would only emanate from an apostate.

As for IPO [the deviant publisher who publishes the evil work of Suroor], then they are upon the methodology of Muhammad Suroor.

Shaikh Muhammad Nasir-ud-Deen al-Albanee (rahimahullaah) called Suroor's sect and his supporters The Khawaarij of the Era.

And before showing you evidences for Muhammad Suroor's deviance, here is a brief reminder that Salafiyyah (The Saved Sect, the correct Islam, true Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jama'ah) is from Allaah, while the one who introduces a new belief, a new manhaj, a new sect can only be misguided and misguiding others.

The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
"This Ummah will divide into 73 sects, all of them in the hellfire except one." He was asked, "Which one is that, o Messenger of Allaah?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: "That which I and my companions are upon."

In showing the deviance of all the astray groups, Shaikh Al-Albanee (rahimahullaah) illustrated all these astray groups had a human founder - a deviant, for no upright person would dare bring anything new into the religion, much less introduce a whole sect (new 'aqeedah, manhaj), aoodhubillaah! - whereas the correct Islaam (Salafiyyah) was sent down by Allaah, 'azza wa jall - i.e. founded and legislated by Allaah.

Allaah, subhanahu wa ta'aala, said:
quote:
This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. (Al-Ma`idah, ayah 3)
So the religion is complete and perfect, and whatever was not part of the religion then cannot be part of the religion today.

Shaikh 'Ubayd al-Jabiree (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
Ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah was not founded by any specific person. And perhaps this is the reason why people ask when did ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah begin? So I say that Ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah was not founded or established by any one specific person. Rather, the Prophets and Messengers were sent with this da'wah by Allaah the Glorified and Exalted. Therefore, my son, the origin of ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah is the text (Qur`an and Sunnah) and Ijma` (consensus of the scholars) and its origin is not based upon a simple notion, concept or opinion. So the leaders of ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah are the Prophets ('alayhimus-salaam), and they are the Imaams of the creation.

Shaikh al-Jabiree also said about Salafiyyah - The Saved Sect - from the 73:

quote:
...Ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah is the pure Religion which calls to Tawheed and sincerity of worship. It is the Da'wah or the call to belief in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Mesengers, the Day of Judgement, and belief in Qadr (pre-Decree). ...And ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah is understanding the Qur`an and Sunnah as Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) commanded us to do so. ...So the history of ad-Da'watus-Salafiyyah is not something that can be limited to one hundred years or two hundred years or five hundred years. The only thing that can be limited to a specific time period are the activities of certain astray groups such as Ikhwaanul-Muslimeen and Jama'at at-Tableegh and the Surooriyah/Qutubiyah and other than them from the da'wah groups that have recently arisen.

The evil of this man - Muhammad Suroor (may Allaah guide him, and rectify his affairs) - is not concealed, for he brandishes it out in the open.

Jamaal bin bin Furayhaan al-Haarithee, in his footnotes to Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan's Beneficial Answers to Questions on Innovated Methodologies, wrote about Muhammad Suroor in footnote 62:

quote:
This man is known for his deviant ideologies through his writings and enmity for the followers of the Sunnah in this country (Saudia). We do not need to use any witness to testify to this other than what his own hand and pen have written and recorded. Below are some of his statements in this regard along with their references:

Then al-Haarithee listed some of Surooriyah's major points of deviance.

quote:
First: Suroor's hatred for the books of 'Aqeedah...

Read this question about statements Suroor made, and then read Shaikh Fawzaan's answer to it in his book Beneficial Answers to Questions on Innovated Methodologies:

quote:
QUESTION 28: I read a book called "The methodology of the Prophets in calling to Allaah"*, written by Muhammad Suroor bin Naayif Zainul Aabideen, in which he states:

"I looked into the books of Creed and realized that they were written in times that are different from that of ours, and that they served as solutions to the issues and problems of the times in which they were written. However, the problems of our time require new solutions. As a result, there is a lot of coarseness in the format of these (old) books of Creed, since they just consist of texts and rulings. And most of the youth reject and turn away from this." (Vol. 1, pg. 8) What are your comments to these words?

Answer by Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan: Why do we import our idelogies from abroad? Why do we import these ideologies from Muhammad Suroor Zaynul Aabideen who is in London, or from someone else?

Why don't we go back and refer to the books that we have with us, such as the books of the Salaf and the books of the Scholars of Tawheed, which were produced by scholars and not some writer or some intellectual whose objectives are not known - nor is his level of knowledge (known)?
With these words of his, this man - Muhammad Suroor - has misguided the youth and turned them away from the authentic books of Creed and the books of the Salaf. And he has instead directed them instead to new ideologies and new books, which contain deviant ideas.

The bad thing about the books of Creed according to Muhammad Suroor is that they consist of just texts and ruling. These books consist of "Allaah says" and "the Messenger of Allaah said." However, he prefers the ideas of so and so and so and so - and not texts and rulings!

So, you must warn against these false plots, which are only meant to turn the youth away from the books of the salaf-u-saleh (righteous predecessors).

All praise is for Allaah; we have been sufficed with what our pious predecessors left behind for us, such as the books of Creed and the books of Da'wah. And they are not "coarse," as this author claims. Rather they were written in a knowledge-based manner utilizing the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, the likes of Saheeh Al-Bukharee, Saheeh Muslim and all the other books of Hadeeth.

They contain verses from the Qur`an, which falsehood cannot approach whether from before nor behind it. And they also contain ahaadeeth from the books of Sunnah, such as the book As-Sunnah of Ibn Abee 'Aasim, Ash-Sharee'ah of Al-Aajuree, As-Sunnah of Abdullah ibn Ahmad, the books of Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyaah and his student Ibnul Qayyim, and the books of Shaikhul Islaam, the reformer, Muhammad ibn 'Abdil Wahhaab. So stick to these books and take from them.

So if the Qur`an and the Sunnah are "coarse" [to Suroor] and the words of the distinguished scholars contain "dryness" in them [to Suroor], then it is due to the blindness in one's eyes, as a poet once said:

"The eye rejects the sunlight due to inflammation
And the mouth rejects the taste of water due to sickness
The Creed is not taken except from the texts of the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah
Not from the ideologies of so and so."

Concerning the statement of one who says The Qur`an and Sunnah are "coarse," Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

quote:
This is a huge error....the books of Creed the correct stance with regard to them is that there is no coarseness in them. They only contain 'Allaah said' and 'the Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) said.' So if he is describing the Qur`an and Sunnah as 'coarse,' then this is apostasy from Islaam. This is a vile and disgusting statement.
[Refuge in Allaah is sought from meeting Allaah on the Day of Judgment with this statement and belief! Aoodhubillaah!]

Then Shaikh Ibn Baaz was asked about the ruling of selling this book to which he replied:
quote:
If this statement is found within it, then it is not permissible to sell it; rather it is obligatory to destroy it. (From a lecture called "Consequences of the Tongue," which Shaikh Ibn Baaz delivered 12/29/1413H, in the city of Taa`if.) It can also be found in footnote 63 of Beneficial Answers to Questions on Innovated Methodologies.

quote:
Second: Suroor's ascribing to the beliefs of the Khawaarij: This consists of "declaring Muslims disbelievers based on major sins" and applying that to oppressive rulers and nations. As for the rulers, then his writings in the magazine "As-Sunnah" are abundant on this subject, and it is not something he keeps hidden. As for declaring entire nations disbelievers due to majors sins, then in the book "Methodology of the Prophets in Calling to Allaah" (vol. 1, pg 158) he holds that even if the people of Loot had believed in their prophet ('alaihi salaam) and not abandoned their vile act (homosexuality), that Faith (belief) in Allaah would be of no benefit to them...He declares disbelief on people generally due to major sins even though those people may not deem such sins as being lawful.

Suroor even accused the Muslim rulers of worshipping George Bush, ridiculously saying, "This is why they make their pilgrimage to him and present their oaths and sacrificial offerings to him..." [Source: As-Sunnah magazine, Issue 26, pages 2-3, as cited on page 87 of Beneficial Answers]

The fact that his rambling speech and writings comprise of lies and fabrications and baseless and fact-less accusations - in addition to opposing Allaah's revelations and commands and prohibitions - serves to show how ignorant Suroor's followers are that they would believe this man without evidence, and in total opposition to the Qur`an and Sunnah that Suroor does not suffice himself with. These blind followers are, of course, following their desires.

Allaah, subhanahu wa ta'aala, said to Iblees (Satan):
quote:
Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghaaween. (Al-Hijr, ayah 42)

And ignorance is what the Khawaarij were described with by the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and the sahaabah.

Ignorance, without a doubt, is one of the greatest characteristics of the Khawaarij.

quote:
The Ignorance and Hastiness of the Khawaarij [Some of what follows in this specific section (quote block) is not verbatim, but a summary from an excellent 'aqeedah and manhaj class a few years ago; may Allaah reward the khateeb with good and preserve him.]

You may or may not remember that in Pakistan a few years ago, people rebelled and took to establishing their own government in a masjid they named "The Red Mosque." If these renegades found someone committing zina (adultery), they brought him in and punished him in the masjid. But they left the grave-worshippers across the street alone.

They don't have the right in either case to punish anyone, since they are not the government - and especially not in the masjid. But the point is: out of ignorance, they made zina worse than shirk.

In light of the above scenario, contemplate upon the following hadeeth from the sahihain on the authority of Abu Sa'eed al-Khudree (radiallaahu 'anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:

quote:
A people will recite the Qur`an - it will not pass their throats. They will exit the Religion just as an arrow shoots through the hunted beast. They will fight the people of Islaam and leave alone the people of idolatry. Were I to reach them when they appear, I would slaughter them with the slaughtering meted out to [the people of] 'Aad.

Allaah told the truth, and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) told the truth.

Another characteristic of the Khawaarij is hastiness. Ibn Mas'ood (radiallaahu 'anhu) said:
quote:
When things of unsure matters happen, be hesitant and take your time in making the right decision. For it is better to be a follower of good than a leader of evil.

In light of the above, contemplate upon this hadeeth:

'Ali ibn Abi Talib (radiallaahu 'anhu) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) saying:
quote:
Near the end of time, a people will emerge, young in age and ignorant in intellect. They will speak with the best statements of creation, and they will recite the Qur`an, but it will not reach beyond their throats. They will go through and out of the religion just as an arrow goes through its target. So if you meet them, fight and kill them because in killing them there is a reward with Allaah on the Day of Resurrection for he who does so.[Bukhari]

There is more to Suroor's deviance.

quote:
Third: Suroor's hatred for the People of the Sunnah - the Salafees (particularly the Senior Scholars): He mocks and ridicules the scholars of the Salafee Da'wah, and attacking and belittling the scholars of Saudia, particularly the Senior Scholars.

Suroor says about the scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah that although they "always talk about Tawheed" - which is actually a proof against Suroor - that they are slaves of the rulers and slaves of George Bush. Suroor also accused the scholars of hypocrisy. Aoodhubillaah!

In the footnotes of Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan's book, Jamaal bin Furayhaan al-Haarithee (hafidhahullaah) wrote:

quote:
By Allaah, my brother, answer the following question with total impartiality and fear of Allaah: "Who is it who speaks about Tawheed from the ranks of the Scholars? Is it not the scholars of Saudi Arabia, the likes of Shaikh Ibn Baaz, Ibn Uthaymeen, Saalih al-Luhaydaan, Saalih al-Fawzaan, and their brothers from among the senior scholars? So now someone comes along today and describes them as "slaves of the rulers" and ultimately "slaves to George Bush"! The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam) spoke the truth when he said, If you have no shame, then do as you wish. [Reported by al-Bukharee no. 3296 from the narration of Abu Mas'ood al-Badree radiyallaahu anhu.]"

Shaikh al-Fawzaan said there is a purpose to Suroor slandering scholars.

In answering a similar question to the one above, Shaikh Fawzaan said:

quote:
As I have already pointed out in the lecture, there are people who have renounced the study of 'Aqeedah and they have renounced the books of the Salaf (Prophet Muhammad and his companions, and second and third generations) and they have renounced the writings of the Imams of Islam. And they want to direct the people to their own writings and to their likes from the juhaal (ignoramusus) and the du'aat-u-dalaal (callers to misguidance). The one who made this statement is from the du'aat-u-dalaal (callers to misguidance). We ask Allaah for protection. So it is obligatory upon us to beware of this book and to warn against it.

And I mention to you that the Shaikh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaamee - [rahimahullah] - has produced an entire audio tape about this issue. This statement that "the books of 'Aqeedah are rigid or pointless texts and ahkam" as he says. The shaikh has refuted it with a profound refutation. So it is upon you to search for this audio tape and to spread it amongst the Muslims, so that they may be warned against such wickedness and against this evil which has arrived in the lands of the Muslims.

The audio tape, oh brothers, that the shaikh has informed about is available at the Da'wah center in at-Ta`if. Yes, this a very valuable audio tape. May Allaah reward our shaikh - Shaikh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaamee - with khair (good).

And may Allaah aid Islam and the Muslims through him.

And while we have righteous scholars such as Shaikh Rabee' bin Hadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) striving to direct the youth to the Sunnah of Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), deviants such as Muhammad Suroor stand in clear opposition. Suroor and his likes prey upon the youth because of their obvious ignorance - as is the way of the Khawaarij - awaiting the youngsters upon the way before pouncing upon them to redirect them away from the path of the Salaf (the Prophet and his sahaabah) to the dangerous detour that is the sect of the Khawaarij.

Shaikh Muqbil said about Suroor:
quote:
The magazine "As-Sunnah", of which it is more proper that it be called "Al-Bid'ah," calls people away from the scholars and it accuses them of being inactive, paid by the government and not having an understanding of current affairs.

But all praise is for Allaah; the reality of the Surooris came out in the open during the Gulf Crisis. This was from the Grace of Allaah, 'azza wa jall. I remember reading at that time some words (in their magazine) in which there was an attack against Shaikh Al-Albaanee for having produced a tape called: "An Encounter with a Suroori." Then a few pages later, they praised Shaikh Ibn Baaz. So I realized the significance of this praise - so that it won't be said that: "They attack the scholars!" [Shaikh al-Albanee and Shaikh Ibn Baaz were both scholars of the same 'aqeedah.]

Some days after the fatwah of Shaikh Ibn Baaz concerning the permissibility of making a treaty with the Jews was issued, they launched an attack against Shaikh Ibn Baaz. So it was in fact a well-devised scheme to chase the people away from the scholars! And the magazines "Al-Bayaan" and "As-Sunnah" gave the understanding that it was more proper to refer to those Salafees who understood the current affairs in Yemen concerning the affair of the Yemeni Crisis.

So I say: O you masaakeen...who is it that is unaware of the condition of the Muslims? Rather, all of the matter lies in fixing this current situation we find ourselves in.

So what has befallen the Muslims from losses, fear and suffering, then it is due to our sins. Allaah says (what means):

Allaah puts forth the example of a town (Makkah) that dwelt in security and well-being; it's provision coming to it in abundance from every place, but it denied the Blessings of Allaah. So Allaah made them taste the extreme hunger (famine) and fear because of what they used to do. [Surah An-Nahl, ayah 112]

So if we have come to realize the sickness, then what is the cure?

Allaah says (what means):

Allaah has promised those among you who believe and do good deeds, that He will certainly grant them ascendancy (i.e. Khilaafah) in the land as he granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the ability to practice the Religion, which He has chosen for them. And He will place in exchange of their fear a sense of security (provided), that they worship Me and do not ascribe any partners to Me. [Surah An-Noor, ayah 55]

So it is the sins that have brought humiliation upon the Muslims. And it is their dealing with interest, their allowing of fornication in many of the Islamic lands and their preferring and submitting to man-made laws brought by way of the enemies of Islaam, and how much more can we list...and the going out without Hijaab and indecent exposure, and their mixing of the sexes in the schools and the universities.

So the cure is in returning to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah, and then by returning to the scholars.

Allaah says:

And when there came to them a matter concerning (public) security or fear, they announced it to the people. But if only they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those encharged with authority amongst them, those who have the ability to derive a proper conclusion from it would have understood it. [Surah An-Nisaa, ayah 83]

So it is an obligation on us to return to the scholars:

These are the parables that We send forth to the people, yet no one (truly) understands them except those with knowledge. [Surah Al-'Ankaboot, ayah 43]

But what you see is a person memorizing three or four subjects and then he takes that around to the masaajid, charging and ramming (like a bull). Then his companions nickname him "Shaikh-ul-Islaam!" So is this knowledge? Rather, knowledge is sitting upon a mat with your needs tucked below you (hearing from a shaikh) - enduring with patience the hardships of hunger and bareness. Just look at the condition of the Companions of Allaah's Messenger and what they went through.

And the people of knowledge, they are the ones who put each thing in its proper place, as was stated in the previous ayah. And Allaah says (what means): Verily, in that is a reminder to those who possess knowledge. [Surah Ar-Room, ayah 22]

And Allaah says: Is the one who knows that what has been revealed to you from your Lord is the truth then like he who is blind? But it is only the men of understanding who pay heed. [Surah Ar-Ra'ad, ayah 19]

The affliction that the Muslims are being tested by is their being ignorant about their Religion. So anyone who memorizes some ayaat and ahaadeeth and then begins to talk about it, especially if he has some eloquence in speech, people say: "This is a Shaikh."

All praise is for Allaah, the reality of the matter became clear, as it is said:

"If you hear the eloquent one speaking, do not give yourself into him
For this unnatural (way of speaking) is something artificial
Be pleased with taking knowledge and understanding, and
His eloquent speech will come to an end without any fight."

[Tuhfat-ul-Mujeeb 'alaa As'ilat-il-Haadir wal-Ghareeb (pg. 179-185) of Shaikh Muqbil]

Shaikh Muqbil added:
quote:
So [Surooriyah] is a Da'wah (call) that is based on lies and deceptions, but the reality will become manifest. For the Da'wah of 'Alee Ibn Al-Fadl manifested itself and the reality of the Da'wah of the Mu'tazilah, the Shee'ah and Sufis manifested themselves. And the ones who will expose and make these realities manifest, by the Permission of Allaah, are Ahlus-Sunnah.

And all praise is for Allaah; Ahlus-Sunnah are the ones who always examine and rectify the Muslim ummah. The Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: There will not cease to be a group from my ummah that is triumphant upon the truth. Those who abandon them will not be able to harm them until Allaah's Command (i.e. Promise) comes to pass and they are upon that (condition).

So Shaikh Rabee' Ibn Haadee - hafidhahullaah - in the lands of the Haramayn and Najd is exposing the Hizbees and clarifying what beliefs they are upon.

and

quote:
So I advise the brothers, because many of them - all praise is for Allaah - are receptive, to return to the Qur`aan and the Sunnah and to call to them, and to not waste away their lives in glorifying shaikh so and so. And if they were to abandon such shaikhs, they [Surooris] would say: "Beware of him, he is from Jamaa'at At-Takfeer" or "He is a government agent." These are words of one who doesn't fear Allaah.

From the Evil Plots of the Surooriyah, and the rest of the Khawaarij, is slandering the scholars, Part 1

A pillar of the astray, crooked and malicious manhaj of the Khawaarij is their plot of slandering the genuine scholars, so as to deceive the Muslims in doubting (and losing confidence in) the da'wah, advises, and fataawah of the scholars - the inheritors of the Prophets ('alaihimi salaam).

Why do Muhammad Suroor and the leaders of the Khawaarij do this? So that the ears and eyes of the Muslims are turned their way and to their books, and Suroor and the Khawaarij can therefore direct the Muslims any way they want for the purpose of achieving their own insincere goals of chaos, splitting of the Ummah, and rulership - objectives that are distant from striving to make Allaah's Word uppermost. In reality, it is the Suroors of this world who are acting in a way that "pleases the Bushes."

How deviant is Suroor?

In one single paragraph - fraught with deviance - Suroor said the books of 'Aqeedah (which contain nothing but Qur`an and Sunnah) are "coarse", then said we live in a "different time," and compounded his deviance by stating we need "new solutions."

As the scholars already mentioned, if Suroor was referring to the Qur`an and Sunnah as "coarse," then this apostasy. Aoodhubillaah!

Suroor borrowed the statement of "living in a different time" from other deviants, and this statement has already been refuted by the scholars who clarified that the one who makes this statement intending by it that we don't have to abide by and rule by and submit to the Qur`an and Sunnah, then this apostasy. Aoodhubillaah!

And Suroor's doubt of "requiring new solutions" is the cousinly statement of "living in a different time," necessitating that the means for victory that Allaah revealed no longer apply. Aoodhubillaah! Aoodhubillaah! As has already preceded, the Qur`an is the final law until the Day of Judgement, such that 'Eesa ibnu Mariam ('alaihi salaam) will judge by the Qur`an when he is sent down (near the end of time), resulting in justice being established throughout the earth.

Suroor is deceiving the people into thinking "we need new solutions" because he and his deputees have not been given what has been promised to those who establish Tawheed - authority in the land.

Firstly, the call for "new solutions" is having doubts in the ayat of Allaah. A Muslim should know that Allaah is free from any imperfection, does not err in any way, nor does He break His promise. We should be quick to accuse our own understanding and our own intellect - and never, ever the ayaat of Allaah.

Allaah says:
quote:
Allaah's Promise is the Truth, and whose words can be truer than those of Allaah? (Of course, none). (An-Nisa`, ayah 122)

Secondly, as has already preceded, authority in the land has been promised to those who establish Tawheed in the lands, and we have not done that. We have ignoramusus like Suroor deceiving many from the Ummah into overlooking shirk and de-emphasizing Tawheed - especially the Tawheed of worship - and choosing an 'aqeedah in opposition to the Prophet's 'Aqeedah. Click to read:  Opposing Prophet's 'aqidah, manhaj causes humiliation, allows enemies' ascendancy over us (Muslims).

And - subhanAllaah - having the correct belief ('Aqeedah) of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and the companions, eradicating shirk, and establishing Tawheed are the very means that Allaah has set for the granting of authority to the Muslims in the land.

Allaah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practice their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islaam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqoon (rebellious, disobedient to Allaah). (An-Nur, ayah 55)

What rectified the Ummah in the time of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and the sahaabah? The rectification of the 'aqeedah, and the eradicating of shirk, and the establishment of Tawheed throughout the land. May Allaah bless you.

This is why Imam Malik (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
The latter part of this Ummah will not be rectified except by that which rectified its earlier part.

Shaikh Saalih ibn 'Abdul-'Azeez Aali Shaikh (hafidhahullaah) said: establishing Tawheed - establishing the shahadatain - means the purification of the Religion from the filth and evil of Shirk (major, minor, hidden), bid'ah and sins. Establishing Tawheed is the purification of the Religion from Shirk, bid'ah and sins. Suroor not only overlooks Shirk and de-emphasizes Tawheed, but he has innovated and introduced an entire sect - an entire manhaj!

And Suroor's deviant statement is similar to Hasan At-Turabee's deviant statement, "we are in need for [the Qur`an] to undergo a new tafseer." [From Turabee's poisonous book "The Revival of Islamic Thinking", pg. 42 and 45] Aoodhubillaah! These are people who have major doubts in the religion - may Allaah protect us! This filthy statement of at-Turabee is refuted on pg. 90 of Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan's Beneficial Answers to Questions on Innovated Methodologies.

Turaabee launced an ideological attack on the Muslims, saying, "In my opinion, the safe and pure investigation of the principles of Islamic Fiqh begins with the Qur`an, of which it is clear that we are in need for it undergo a new interpretation." Aoodhubillaah! It is an ideological attack, except that Allaah, The Exalted, has supported and blessed our righteous scholars to identify it, expose it and warn against it - wa lillaah il Hamd.

Allaah says (what means):

quote:
With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad) the reminder and the advice (the Qur`an), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought. (An-Nahl, ayah 44)

And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad through Jibreel], then follow you its (the Qur`an's) recital. Then it is for Us (Allaah) to make it clear to you. (Al-Qiyamah 75:18-19)

So Allaah, The All-Wise, sent down the Qur`an and He also sent down the explanation and tafseer of the Qur`an via the Sunnah. Allaah did not leave the meanings of the Qur`an up to the opinions and desires and whims of mankind. No!

This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islaam as your religion. (Al-Ma`idah, ayah 3)

There is not a moving (living) creature on earth, nor a bird that flies with its two wings, but are communities like you. We have neglected nothing in the Book, then unto their Lord they (all) shall be gathered. (Al-An'am, ayah 38)
Thus, the entire religion has been explained, completed and perfected. This should increase one's eeman, and encourage one to search for the answers by seeking authentic knowledge based upon the Qur`an and Sunnah - may Allaah bless you - not make one search for "new solutions."

Jamaal Al-Haarithee (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
I say he [Turabee] means by these words that the Qur`an should be interpreted according to the desires of the people during the various different eras.

Al-Haarithee clarified that the Qur`an is interpreted by the Qur`an, Sunnah, statements of Sahabah, and by the requisites of the Arabic Language, and, importantly, added:
quote:
These sources do not differ or change with the changing of times or the changing of the conditions of people.

Without a doubt, the success of the Muslims is attached to the clinging to the Qur`an and Sunnah in the manner the Prophet (salallaahu 'laihi wa sallam) and the sahaabah clung to the Qur`an and Sunnah; and understanding the Qur`an and Sunnah in the manner the Prophet (salallaahu 'laihi wa sallam) and the sahaabah understood the Qur`an and Sunnah; and implementing the Qur`an and Sunnah in the manner the Prophet (salallaahu 'laihi wa sallam) and the sahaabah implemented the Qur`an and Sunnah. There is absolutely no doubt about this! All related ayat and ahadeeth and events included in the seerah point to this undeniable statement of truth.

Allaah said (what means):
quote:
O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allaah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm. (Muhammad, ayah 7)

Verily, Allaah will help those who help His (Cause). (Al-Hajj, ayah 40) Imam ash-Shanqeetee (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, explains in this noble verse that He has promised to help and give victory to those who help Him. And it is known that the Help and the Victory of Allaah comes by following what He has prescribed, obeying His command, avoiding His prohibitions, helping His Messengers and their followers, aiding His Religion, and fighting against His enemies and overpowering them - until the Word of Allaah is made uppermost and the word of His enemies is debased.

And indeed Our servants will be victorious. (Saaffaat, ayah 173)

Of course, the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and the companions (radiAllaahu 'anhum) implemented these commands and established Tawheed throughout the land.

As Shaikh Muhammad Nasir-ud-Deen al-Albanee (rahimahullaah) pointed out regarding the hadeeth in Sahih Muslim concerning the slave girl who was beaten by her owner, who came to the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) to inquire about freeing her:
quote:
Tawheed was so well known among the companions that even this slave girl - far from the circles of knowledge - knew the answers when the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) asked her, "Where is Allaah?" and "Who am I?"
[By comparison, how many from this Ummah today respond to the same questions with the innovated answers spread by the people of Wahdatul-Wujood and Hulool - the followers of deviants such as Ibn 'Arabee? Allaahul Musta'aan!]

Likewise, all the companions (radiallaahu 'anhum ajma'een) understood Tawheed - such that they would say O Allaah, I repent to you and I do not repent to Muhammad, and the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) would say, The right has been given to The One Who deserves it. And 'Umar adressing the black stone thusly: I know you are only a stone. You cannot benefit or harm me. And had I not seen the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) kiss you, then I would not have kissed you. They understood Tawheed, and established it.

In return, Allaah - Al-Haqq (The Truth) - did not break His Promise; rather Allaah gave the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), then successor Abu Bakr, then successor 'Umar, then successor 'Uthman victory upon victory upon victory, as they conquered country after country, humiliating disbelieving tyrants such as Kisra, Caesar and Khagan in the process. And by the Permission of Allaah, the Deen of Al-Islaam spread as far West as Spain and as far East as China.

En route to Makkah for The Conquest (Al-Fatth), one of the companions said, Al-Yawm Yawm al-MaLhamma (Today is the day of the spilling of the blood). The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) refuted this statement due to what he knew via revelation, saying Al-Yawm Yawm al-MaRhamma (No, today is the day of Mercy!). And Allaah - Al Haqq - granted them Makkah without a fight, without a single drop of blood.

Allaahu akbar! Allaahu akbar!

'A`ishah (radiallaahu 'anha) said about the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam): His manners were the Qur`an. And subsequently, the sahaabah - who were the physical application of the Qur`an and Sunnah - were granted authority in the land on account of believing in and adhering to Allaah's ayat, and commands and prohibitions.

'Umar Ibn Al-Khattab (radiallaahu 'anhu) said to Abu 'Ubaida (radiallaahu 'anhu):
quote:
Verily Allaah, the Blessed and Exalted, has given us honor (strength) with Islaam, and if we seek honor (strength) with other than it [Islaam], Allaah will humiliate us. [Al Hakim in Al Mustadarak - book of Eeman - 2/62]

So ask yourself, in light of this tremendous statement of 'Umar:

- Is overlooking Shirk and de-emphasizing Tawheed from Islaam?
- Is feeling secure from Shirk and the hellfire from Islaam?
- Is innovating new methodologies from Islaam?
- Is abstaining from enjoining the good and forbidding the evil from Islaam?
- Is democracy from Islaam?
- Is rebelling against the Muslim ruler from Islaam?
-Is denying Allaah's truthfulness from Islaam?
-Is denying any ayah of Allaah from Islaam?

So adhering to the Qur`an and Sunnah - the very content in those books of 'aqeedah that Suroor considers dry and "coarse" - was the means for the success of the Muslims in the first part of the Ummah. The companions were united, and did not differ in any matter of 'aqeedah. And the sahaabah did not need to write books of 'aqeedah because there was no dispute about it, and the fitnah had not yet arrived.

Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said, "This was because the matter of 'aqeedah was taken from the [Qur`an and Sunnah]. There was no dispute among the Companions in the affair of 'aqeedah; it was a decided and settled matter."

Shaikh Fawzaan said from the means that Allaah protected this religion are:

quote:
That He ordained for this religion trustworthy carriers who would:

1- Convey the religion just as it came from Allaah and His Messenger

2- Repel the false ta`weel (interpretations) and tashbeeh (resemblances)

3- Pass on this (correct) 'aqeedah as inheritance

Click here to read how the 'aqeedah of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and his companions was preserved and safeguarded.

So after the fitnah arose, the scholars who followed the Salaf (sahaabah) - and learned the religion from them - wrote books of 'aqeedah as a way of clarifying the correct 'aqeedah in times of fitnah, and as a way of distinguishing the Prophet's 'aqeedah from the false ta`weel of the deviants emerging afterward.

Shaikh Fawzaan said - found here in the notes of his sharh of al-'aqeedah Tahawiyah - when the splitting and differing started to occur among the Muslims, the scholars of Islaam wrote books of 'aqeedah, "To clarify what was the correct 'aqeedah and to write this down in the form of books."

In fact, the very reason why the followers of the sahaabah wrote books of 'aqeedah was to refute the emerging deviance, the likes of which Suroor and the rest of the Khawaarij still display and invite to today.

Shaikh al-Fawzaan said the consequence of establishing the Deen upon a shaky or corrupt 'aqeedah - in opposition to the 'aqeedah of the Qur`an and Sunnah that the Prophet and the sahaabah were established upon - is that:
quote:
The Deen will not be saheeh (correct) nor will it be upon a (correct) foundation.

So Suroor and his deputies are objecting to that which leads to success in this world and the hereafter, and that which refutes Suroor and clarifies Suroor's deviance.

And it is feared for Suroor - and those who follow him, agreeing with his corrupt statements and invented principles (in dangerous opposition to the Qur`an and Sunnah) - that he may fall into having hatred for the Qur`an and Sunnah.

Allaah said (what means): But those who disbelieve, for them is destruction, and (Allaah) will make their deeds vain. That is because they hate that which Allaah has sent down (this Qur`an and Islamic laws, etc.), so He has made their deeds fruitless. (Muhammad, ayat 8-9)

Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
The people of bid'ah have hatred for that which the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) came with, so they receive a share of His (Allaah's) saying:

For he who has hatred towards you (O Muhammad) will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter). (Al-Kawthar: 3)

So beware! Beware O man, of having aversion to anything which the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) came with, and of refusing it due to your desires, or due to supporting your madhhab, or your shaikh, or because of your preoccupation with desires, or with the wordly life. Because Allaah has not obligated obedience to any individual, except for obedience to His Messenger, and that they should accept everything he came with.

May Allaah rectify the affairs of the Muslims, and save the Ummah from Suroor's doubts and all doubts!

Amma ba'd

From the Evil Plots of the Surooriyah, and the rest of the Khawaarij, is slandering the scholars, Part 2

Allaah, The Most High, said (what means):

quote:
It is only the 'Ulemma among His slaves who fear Allaah... (Fatir, ayah 28) The people of knowledge explain that this fear is a complete fear, meaning as He (Allaah) should be feared.

Abu Darda (radiallaahu 'anhu) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) say:
quote:
Whoever follows a path to seek knowledge, Allaah will show him the way to Paradise. The angels lower their wings being pleased with the one who seeks knowledge. Whoever is in the heavens and on earth, even the fish in the sea, ask for forgiveness for the scholar. The superiority of the scholar over the worshipper is like that of the moon over all other heavenly bodies. The scholars are the heirs of the Prophets, for the Prophets did not leave behind Dinars and Dirhams, but they left behind knowledge; and whoever receives it, receives an abundance of good fortune. (Ahmad, Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah)

In addition to - obviously - having the correct 'aqeedah and manhaj, the genuine scholars are distinguished from those who are not scholars.

So who are the scholars in truth?

Student of knowledge Mustafa George relayed that Shaikh 'Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz (rahimahumullaah) said:
quote:
In the Name of Allaah, and all praise belongs to Him.

The sign of a true scholar is clear; he is the individual who presents the Qur`an and the Sunnah as proofs. You become aware of his correctness by asking the people of knowledge who know him. Also, a person should investigate and ask the trustworthy people about him, in order to be safe that he is (actually) from the people of knowledge. The true scholar is furthermore known by his (correct) religion and uprightness, and his diligence in seeking verdicts, and by the proofs he presents.

He is also known by his actions in addition to the recommendations mentioned by those who know him. It is not befitting that a person takes this matter lightly and asks anybody; rather one should investigate, as it relates to his religion, and ask the trustworthy and reliable from amongst the people of knowledge in his country or in the country he travels to.

This should be done in order for him to be at ease, because he has asked the people of knowledge regarding this matter.

Student of knowledge Abu Uwais relayed that Shaikh 'Abdus-Salaam Barjis (rahimahumullaah) said:
quote:
The ones who are to be called a scholar in this time are a very small number. And we won't be exagerrating if we said, 'they're rare and few.' (Because) the scholars have such qualities that very few possess these qualities. There are many who connect themselves to knowledge, but in fact they are not scholars. And the fact that many people do not understand this matter, they will take the word 'scholar' and place it on someone who doesn't deserve to be called 'scholar.' And they will place within the ranks of scholars those who are not in fact scholars. Then, we have confusion in this matter - a Fawba 'Ilmiyah (confusion regarding knowledge). This is a major problem, particularly in these last days.

The scholar is not someone who is articulate and classical, or the one who can give a good khutbah (or lectures). The scholar is not the one who authors books, or has taken a book and spread it, or who has checked a manuscript, or brought out a manuscript that was not known previously to the public and presented it.

If we were to label someone a scholar because of this, then we would be doing what the 'Awwaam (general public) does, considering as scholars those who are not in fact scholars. Many people are diluted by these type of matters. The general public thinks that if a person is Faseeh (articulate and well spoken) and his Arabic is of a (certain) level, or that he's written a book, "he's a scholar."

So when they look at him, he becomes a person they are astonished with. And if one sees this individual who he thinks is a scholar (when in reality he's not), he will take his right hand and beat his left - astonished and amazed with the speech of this individual.

Those who have knowledge and those who know who the scholars truly are will beat their right hand upon their left out of grief and out of shame that the non-scholar is mistaken for a scholar. And they see this to be someone unlocking the door to fitnah.

quote:
The scholar in reality is the one who has filled himself with 'ilm ash-Shar'ee (legislative knowledge) and he has comprehension and understanding, and gathered generally the ahkam of the Qur`an and Sunnah, knowing the abrogated from that which abrogated it, and that which is absolute and that which is restricted, and that which is summarized and that which is detailed. And he has also come across the statements of the Salaf, and those matters that they gathered (agreed upon) and those matters they differed about. No doubt, in order for a scholar to have achieved this, it would have taken him a great amount of time, a great striving.

And consider that he's doing all this striving - seeking all this knowledge, all the time that it has taken - and still he has not cut himself off, but he teaches people.

So whosoever circumstance this is, then he is the scholar. [He is] the one who has the right to this great word. The one who conveys to the people the legislation of Allaah on behalf of Allaah, the one who stands for Allaah, with the (establishment of the) evidence upon the creation of Allaah. This person is the scholar, even if his words are few [he doesn't give many speeches] or does not author books.

SubhanAllaah, the difference between the two is clear. If differentiating between the genuine scholars and those who pretend to be scholars was impossible, Imaam Ibn Seereen (rahimahullaah) would not have advised: Indeed, This Knowledge Is Deen, So Look To The One You Take Your Deen From.

And if one compares the 'aqeedah of the genuine scholars, in sha` Allaah, he will observe:
quote:
It is the same as the 'aqeedah of the genuine scholars they learned from and the same as the 'aqeedah of the genuine scholars they learned from -----> tracing all the way back to the likes of Ibn Katheer, Ibnul Qayyim, Ibn Taymiyyah -----> tracing all the way back to Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Imam Abu Dawood, Imam at-Tirmidhee, Imam Ahmad, Imam Ash-Shafi'ee -----> tracing back to Imam Malik, Imam Al-Awza'ee, Sufyan Ath-Thawree, Imam Az-Zuhree -----> tracing back to the tabi'een such as Mujahid, Qatada, 'Umar ibn 'Abdil-Aziz, Hasan al-Basree and Muhammad ibn Sireen -----> tracing back to the companions such as 'A`ishah, Ibn 'Abbaas, Ibn Mas'ood, 'Alee, 'Uthman, 'Umar, Abu Bakr -----> tracing back to the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), about whom Allaah said (what means): Nor does he speak from his own desire. It is only revelation revealed to him. And this revelation - through Jibreel - was from Allaah, subhanahu wa ta'aala.

So this perfect 'Aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jama'ah (also called Salafee 'Aqeedah, or the 'Aqeedah of Ahlul-Hadeeth) is from Allaah, 'azza wa jall.

As Shaikh Rabee' (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
What shows that the People of Hadeeth are upon the truth is that if you were to research all the books authored by them, from the first to the last, the oldest to the newest, you would find - despite the fact that they are from different countries and time periods with vast distances between their lands, each of them living in their own regions - that in the matter of belief ('Aqeedah) they are on one path, they flow in one direction following that path and they do not diverge from it, nor do they deviate from it. Their hearts are one heart; you do not see any differing in what they narrated, nor any divisions or differing in any issue, no matter how small it may be.

Rather, if everything they uttered with their tongues and what they narrated from the Salaf were gathered, you would find it as though it had come from one heart and spoken by one tongue. So is there any evidence clearer than this to show the truth?

Allaah Ta'ala said (what means):

Do they not then consider the Qur`an carefully? Had it been from other than Allaah, they would surely have found therein much contradiction. (An-Nisa`, ayah 82)

Allaah Ta'ala said (what means):

And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allaah (i.e. this Qur`an), and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allaah's Favor on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islaamic Faith). (Aali 'Imraan, ayah 103)

The reason that the people of Hadeeth are united is because they take their Deen and method of narration from the Book and the Sunnah and so, they inherit unity and harmony.

The people of Bid'ah took the Deen from their intellects so they inherited separation and differences.

Allaah said (what means): Verily We: It is We Who have sent down the Dhikr (i.e. the Qur`an) and surely, We will guard it (from corruption). (Al-Hijr, ayah 9)

Allaah, The All-Knowing All-Wise, has guarded and protected the Qur`an from corruption, and has preserved the correct 'aqeedah that He commands us to uphold. And the genuine scholars today - the inheritors of the Prophets - call to that correct 'aqeedah, not fearing the blame of the blamers. And these scholars are well known for giving daleel (evidence) from the Qur`an and Sunnah for their statements in their lessons, fataawah and advises and khutbas, so this matter will be clear - and not a troublesome enigma - for the one whom Allaah intends good for. May Allaah preserve our living 'ulemma, and suffice them against the slandering hypocrites, disbelievers and heretics.

The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:

quote:
There will never cease to be a group from my Ummah upon the truth, uppermost. They will not be harmed by those who desert them or those who oppose them, until the affair of Allaah - the Blessed and Exalted - arrives, and they are in this state.

So the correct 'aqeedah is transmitted through a golden chain of narration that traces back to revelation from Allaah, and this 'aqeedah will never cease to be available for those who want it. Allaah does not oppress, nor does He err. And His Mercy and Wisdom (and all His attributes) are complete and perfect! SubhanAllaahi wa bi-Hamdihi!

And holding onto the example of the Messenger of Allaah and dying upon this 'aqeedah Ma'sooma (perfect, protected from error) leads to Jannah.

Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day and remembers Allaah much. (Al-Ahzab, ayah 21)

In dark contrast to this illuminated path of truth is the gloomy alley of blind-following - in opposition to the truth - and chasing after innovated affairs or introducing innovated affairs.

If you were to compare the statements of the Khawaarij - among them Suroor, Bin Laden, Anwar al-'Awlaki, etc... - you would see that their statements of falsehood are newly founded [meaning not from the Qur`an and Sunnah], only tracing back to -----> refuted innovators and revolutionaries and renegades like Sayyid Qutb, Ala Mawdudi, and Hassan al-Banna, tracing back to -----> Dhul-Khwaisrah at-Tamimee, the founder of the Khawaarij who criticized, opposed and rebelled against the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). So take note.

The chain of narration for the actions and statements of the Khawaarij trace back to someone who accused the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) of treachery. Aoodhubillaah! Even the idol-worshippers of Quraish did not do this, entrusting their possessions to the Messenger for safe-keeping as they were plotting to kill him.

The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), who is As-Saadiq al-Masdooq (The Truthful, The Confirmed), spoke the truth when he said:
quote:
There will appear from this man's progeny [ideology] people who one of you would belittle his own prayer when compared with theirs, and his fasting compared to theirs. (But) they will pass through the religion just as an arrow might pass through a target. (Bukhaaree; Muslim).

It is clear as day that these paths are in opposition. You are either on the side of the Messenger of Allaah and his sahaabah and the righteous scholars who followed them and those living who still follow them - adhering to the Qur`an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf - or you are on the path of Dhul-Khwaisrah, Qutb, Mawdudi, al-Bannah, and Suroor, who opposed the Qur`an and Sunnah.

So don't you be among the gullible the next time an Ikhwanee, or Qutbi, or Hizb at-Tahreeri, or Suroori describes himself as, "Sunni." This is among the many ways these malicious Khawaarij deceive the common people.

This preference to their own statements above the Qur`an and Sunnah that the Khawaarij (and all of Ahlul-Bid'ah) display is sometimes blatant, and many times deceptional by actually quoting an ayah or hadeeth but twisting the true meaning that Allaah intended by that ayah or hadeeth. [The Khawaarij are notorious for misunderstanding and twisting the true meaning of the ayat to suit their desires. Here is one example that is well known as the great debate of Ibn 'Abbaas with the Khawaarij.]

So since Suroor and his deputies slander Shaikh Rabee (and others) for reasons already mentioned, what follows is a comparison illustrating the differences between Shaikh Rabee' on one side and Suroor on the other.

The objective is simple: to identify the 'aqeedah and da'wah of each of these men, and comparing their 'aqaaid (beliefs) and calls to the text that is found in the two revelations - the Qur`an and Sunnah. And the reason for this is so those who are confused may be upon clarity.

__________________________________________________________________________
So what does Shaikh Rabee' call to?

Shaikh Rabee calls to: prioritizing the rectification of 'Aqeedah, beginning with Tawheed, specifically singling out Allaah in all worship ------> This was the way of all the Messengers - And verily, We have sent among every Ummah a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allaah (Alone), and avoid Taaghoot (all false deities) - including the seal of them, Muhammad, who began his call with singling out Allaah in worship, commanding the sahaabah to begin their call thusly: You are going to a People of the Book, so let the first thing you call them to be the testification that none has the right to be worshipped in truth except Allaah, and I am the Messenger of Allaah, and (in another hadeeth) "Yuwahid Allaah" (To single out Allaah).

Shaikh Rabee calls to: following the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) in everything, including the 'aqeedah so that it is the same as the Messenger's and companions' 'Aqeedah -----> So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allaah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 137)

Shaikh Rabee calls to the Manhaj of the Messenger and his companions -----> And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (Muhammad) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers' way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in Hell - what an evil destination. (An-Nisa, ayah 115)

Shaikh Rabee calls to giving Da'wah as the Messenger gave da'wah ----> Say (O Muhammad): "This is my way; I invite unto Allaah (Tawheed) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me with sure knowledge. And Glorified and Exalted be Allaah (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikun." (Yusuf, ayah 108)

Shaikh Rabee calls to offering all acts of worship as the Messenger taught ----> Pray as you have seen me pray, Take your rites of hajj from me, [The one in Jihaad is] he who fights in order that Allaah's Word (La illaaha il Allaah) is the highest., etc...

Shaikh Rabee calls to the Messenger's character ----> And verily, you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted standard of character. (Al-Qalam, ayah 4)

Shaikh Rabee also calls to: solving all differences by returning them to the Qur`an and Sunnah ---->  O you who believe!

Shaikh Rabee' calls to hearing and obeying  ---> Prophet's statement: Give me the pledge that you will hear and obey in that which is pleasing to you and that which is burdensome, in difficulty and in ease

Shaikh Rabee' calls to enjoining the good and forbidding the evil ---> You [true believers in Tawheed, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf [Tawheed and all that Islaam ordains] and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islaam has forbidden), and you believe in Allaah...(Aali Imran, ayah 110)

Proofs for all the above - and more - can be found in Shaikh Rabee's highly beneficial book Methodology of the Prophets in calling to Allaah. (Additionally, here is Shaikh Rabee's official website, and other beneficial Shaikh Rabee links.)

And this is why Shaikh Rabee' is an inheritor of the Prophets whom neither leave behind gold nor dirham, but leave behind knowledge. Shaikh Rabee' is a scholar of the Sunnah whom should be learned from, in accordance with Allaah's statement:
quote:
So ask the people of knowledge, if you do not know. (Al-Anbiya, ayah 7)
May Allaah preserve and support Shaikh Rabee' - and those like him.

So what does Suroor call to?

Suroor admittedly calls to other than the Qur`an and Sunnah; he calls to "new solutions," a call which blatantly opposes what Allaah revealed ------> O you who believe! (An-Nisa, ayah 59) and O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allaah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm. (Muhammad, ayah 7) [Other proofs have already preceded.] And it's not surprising that this statement of Suroor is akin to the statements of his revolutionary predecessors, who prefered opinions and revolutions to abiding by the text and the legislated call to establishing Tawheed.

Suroor calls to making takfeer of those who commit major sins that do not reach the level of shirk despite proofs from the Qur`an and Sunnah that the one who commits a major sin does not leave Islaam. ------> Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allaah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa, ayah 48)

In Bukhari and Muslim, it is recorded that Abu Dharr said that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
Jibreel came to me and conveyed the good news that, "Whoever among your followers dies, worshipping none along with Allaah, will enter Paradise." I [Abu Dharr] said, "Even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, Even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse or even if drank alcohol. I said, "Even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, Even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse or even if drank alcohol. I said, "Even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, Even if he stole or committed illegal sexual intercourse or even if drank alcohol.

Abu Al-Qasim At-Tabarani reported from Ibn 'Abbaas that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said one day:
quote:
My intercession will be for those among my Ummah who commit major sins.

And you will find that this statement is akin to the statements of Sayyid Qutb who not only made takfeer of Muslims but made takfeer of the entire Ummah - aoodhubillaah! Click: The Origins of Mass Takfir of Muslim Societies Lie In the Books of Sayyid Qutb

Suroor calls to rebelling against the Muslim rulers despite the overwhelming and abundant proofs prohibiting it ------> O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (An-Nisa, ayah 59)

(These texts were regarding unjust rulers and still the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) instructed (the people) to have patience with them. He did not allow rebelling and opposing them.) [Other proofs have already preceded.]

This is the call of Qutb, Mawdudi, al-Bannah, and the call of Dhul-Khwaisrah who rebelled against the Messenger of Allaah. Ponder upon this, o Muslims.

Ponder upon this, o Muslims - may Allaah protect you.

The one whom Suroor and his likes take after is the one who rebelled against the seal of all Prophets. Suroor's 'aqeedah and manhaj is the 'aqeedah and manhaj of the Khawaarij - one of the 72 deviants sects of the hellfire.

Also from the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij is Suroor's slandering of the genuine scholars despite the many virtues that Allaah revealed regarding them to His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) in the Qur`an and Sunnah.

Among the abundant proofs for the virtue of the scholars is the 18th ayah of Surat alee-'Imraan (what means):
quote:
Allaah bears witness that La ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge who are upright and just (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

Shaikh 'Ali at-Tuwaijiri (hafidhahullaah) said this ayah includes:

1-The greatest "Witness bearer" Ajallu Shahidin - meaning The greatest One (Allaah) Who has ever bore witness to anything

2- The greatest matter one can bear witness to - the Tawheed of Allaah, the singling out of Allaah

3-And Allaah called from the children of Adam the people of knowledge to this point to show their status.

Strangely, Suroor does not deny having made these disgusting statements (from the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij) that the genuine scholars refuted. Even stranger still, people follow him.

Again, Suroor does not deny this. Even stranger still, people follow him.

Allaahul Musta'aan!

Shaikh Muhammad al-'Aqeel (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
Because when bid'ah enters the hearts of a person, it (the heart) closes. We see many people fall into bid'ah and it's as if they went mad. Just as Imam ash-Shafi'ee (rahimahullah) mentioned, "Tasawuf (Sufism) is misguidance. He becomes a Sufi in the morning and, by Dhuhr, he is crazy, mad." [al-Bayhaqee recorded in his Manaaqib ash-Shaafiýiyyah in volume 2 on page 208]

Just as the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) has informed us about the Khawaarij: "They will be young, foolish, unwise." So therefore, bid'ah takes (away) a person's sense - a trial so severe that he will encounter something bad and see it as something "good." It takes away the firmness. Bid'ah takes away the things that makes a person firm. Holding onto the Sunnah is like holding onto pillars, columns.

Look at those [Khawaarij]. Over 3,000 at the time of the companions of the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) came to Madinah - the city of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - and surrounded 'Uthman bin 'Affan (radiallaahu 'anhu) in his house and put the people of Madinah to fear, and they had the (audacity) to attack the righyly-guided Calipha 'Uthman, the in-law of the Prophet.

'Uthman was given glad tidings of Paradise. When there was no more funding for the Battle of Tabook, ['Uthman presented his wealth] and the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said, "There is no more 'Uthman has to do after today." 'Uthman gave the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) the bai'ah (pledge of allegiance) of Ridwand with his right hand. And the Prophet's right hand was better for...

Despite this, when these [innovators] came, they threw away all of this, and they attacked 'Uthman. He was over 80 years old. He grew old in Islaam. The innovator said, "Allahu akbar, that which is between me and entering Paradise is killing this shaikh ('Uthman)." Then audhoobillaah, he killed 'Uthman. They threw away all of..., and threw away al-Walaa wal-Baraa (Love and Enmity for Allaah's sake)... He [the innovator] showed hatred to Allaah's friends, and allegiance to Allaah's enemies.

He hates the people of the Sunnah, wages war against Sunnah, and he loves bid'ah, and he shows allegiance to the people of bid'ah. The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said Allaah said, "Whoever shows hatred to a loved one of mine, I will war against him." (Sahih al-Jami' no. 1778)

So therefore, this is the affair of bid'ah, may Allaah protect you. For this reason, it is binding to hold fast to the Sunnah. The further a person gets away from the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - in time and place - innovations will grow. More lust and desires and doubtful affairs. And there is no salvation unless we make ourselves sincere and hold fast to the anchors of the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). Allaah 'Azza wa Jall (Mighty and Majestic) said (what means):

"...Whoever follows My Guidance shall neither go astray, nor fall into distress and misery. But whosoever turns away from My Reminder (i.e. neither believes in this Qur'ýn nor acts on its orders, etc.) verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection." (Ta-Ha, ayat 123 and 124)

In sha` Allaah, it is clear that the authentic and righteous chain and path and 'aqeedah (belief) opposes its false and evil counterparts - the false and evil chains and paths and 'aqaa`id (beliefs) of the people of bid'ah, such as Suroor. [Notice - may Allaah bless you - that the righteous path is one (singular) and the false paths are many (plural), in accordance with Allaah's statement: Alif-Lam-Ra. (This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad) in order that you might lead mankind out of darknesses into light by their Lord's Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise. (Ibrahim, ayah 1)]

In sha` Allaah, it is clear that this man - Suroor - should not be followed.

Amma ba'd

From the Evil Plots of the Surooriyah, and the rest of the Khawaarij, is slandering the scholars, Part 3
Do not leave the Call of the Truthful Scholars for the Slanders of them

If success on the Day of Judgement is what you seek, then do not leave the call of the truthful scholars simply because the people of falsehood slander them, or falsely accuse them.

The people of the truth and the people of falsehood are adversaries.

So just as Shaikh Rabee bin Hadee al-Madkhalee and Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan and Shaikh 'Ubaid al-Jabiree (hafidhahumullaah) oppose - as Shaikh al-Albanee, Shaikh Ibn Baaz, Shaikh al-'Uthaimeen and Shaikh Muqbil (rahimahumullaah) before them opposed - deviants Muhammad Suroor, Sayyid Qutb, Hassan al-Banna and Ala Mawdudee; -----> likewise 'Alee ibn Abi Talib and Ibn 'Abbaas and the other sahaabah (radiallaahu 'anhum) opposed 'Abdullaah ibn Saba' (founder of the Rafidah who rebelled against 'Uthman, and deified 'Alee) and his followers; -----> likewise the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and 'Umar ibn al-Khattab and Khalid ibn Waleed and the rest of the companions opposed the infamous Kharijee founder Dhul-Khwaisrah at-Tamimee.

And their opposition to one another is in accordance with Allaah's statement (what means):

quote:
So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided. But if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allaah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 137)

Because their belief ('aqeedah) differs from the belief ('aqeedah) that Allaah sent down to Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). And Allaah - Al-Haqq (the Truth) - has sufficed the people who believe as the Prophet believed against those in opposition, exactly in accordance with the Messenger's statement that has already preceded:

quote:
There will never cease to be a group from my Ummah upon the truth, uppermost. They will not be harmed by those who desert them or those who oppose them, until the affair of Allaah - the Blessed and Exalted - arrives, and they are in this state.

So don't be influenced by the slanders of the people of falsehood, whether the slanders come from the hypocrites, or the kufaar, or those from Ahlul-Bid'ah who don't fall into the former two.

Contemplate: Were not the Prophets ('alaihim i salaam) accused of being "madmen," "sorcerers," even "liars?" Aoodhubillaah! Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) used to go to the market - where the people gathered - and say to them: Qulu La illaaha il Allaah tufleehoo (Say 'La illaaha il Allaah' so you may be successful). And his kaafir uncle Abu Lahab followed him and fearlessly and treacherously called him 'a liar.' So here the one falsely accused of lying told the truth and was in fact Al-Ameen and As-Saadiq al-Masdooq, and the accuser was in fact the lying disbeliever whom Allaah gave the tidings of his abode in the hellfire while he was still alive.
Shaikh Muhammad al-'Aqeel (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
When someone criticizes someone, compare the speech to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah. If it's in accordance to the Book and the Sunnah, accept it, because the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) is the only one [from the creation] exempt from mistake.

So from the above example, the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) called to single out Allaah with all worship - as did all the Prophets - and his kaafir uncle Abu Lahab himself refused to testify to this noble statement. Likewise, the true scholars call the people to single out Allaah with all worship and everything specific to Allaah, and to follow only Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and no one in opposition to him.

In contrast, those who slander the true scholars - calling the scholars "spies" and "agents" and "slaves of the rulers" - don't forbid shirk and bid'ah, nor do they prioritize Tawheed. Rather, they overlook and belittle this matter, such that they themselves fall into major mistakes in 'aqeedah such as Wahdatul Wujood, Hulool, denial of Allaah's attributes, denial of particular ahadeeth, swearing by other than Allaah (repeatedly), and - for all their talk of ruling by Allaah - they call to democracy, which is the rule of man by man.

By Allaah, the Khawaarij are not truly concerned with the matter of ruling by what Allaah revealed, as they claim. They misunderstand or pretend to misunderstand so they may hastily make takfeer without right. [The Khawaarij make takfeer of rulers whom they claim "do not rule by what Allaah revealed," even though they don't know if a ruler who may fall into this deems it halal in his heart, or considers it equal or superior to Allaah's Sharee'ah, because they do not know what is in the breasts of men. If someone was to rule by other than what Allaah revealed out of desire or bribe, but not believe it to be permissible, or equal to or better than Allaah's Sharee'ah, then this is minor shirk - meaning he is still a Muslim! - as Ibn 'Abbaas and others from the Salaf clearly explained. And yet the same Khawaarij themselves (most infamously, the Ikhwanees) promote democracy - which is ruling by other than what Allaah revealed - but you will never hear them making takfeer of themselves. Additionally, making takfeer of a Muslim is only for the scholars, who have knowledge of the conditions and the requirements of takfeer, and have taqwa and patience, and the baseerah to advice. And when the true scholars do make takfeer - after fulfilling the prerequisites - they do so for the sake of Allaah, to preserve the purity of the Deen and defend it from what doesn't belong to it, not to cause a revolution.]

Shaikh Rabee' (hafidhahullaah) spoke the truth when he said that the Khawaarij ignorantly restrict Allaah's command to rule by what He revealed to only the rulers.
quote:
And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, then they are the ones guilty of disbelief (al-Ma`idah, ayah 44)

And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed then they are the transgressors. (al-Ma`idah, ayah 45)

And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed then they are the disobedient. (al-Ma`idah, ayah 47)

quote:
They should understand that these Sayings of Allaah apply to all individuals, groups, rulers and subjects. So to restrict it to refer it to the rulers alone and not to the people of deviant sects and misguidance, those who do not judge by the Sharee'ah of Allaah in their creed and beliefs, nor in their worship and their behaviour, then this is from ignorance, misguidance and foolishness, since Allaah sent these Aayaat down concerning the Jews at a time when they had not had any state or authority for centuries.

Shaikh Rabee' added:

quote:
Indeed the corruption caused by the evil scholars, the priests and the rabbis, and the leaders of innovation is worse and more dangerous than the corruption caused by the rulers and others, since the people are deceived and taken in by them, so that they love them and trust their words and the way which they are upon. So they follow them and because of them stray from the way laid down by Allaah.

Look at the Qur`an which guides to what is right and proper and cures diseases and dangers with full knowledge, since it is Revelation sent down by One who is All-Knowing, All-Wise, Worthy of All-Praise. The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) lived in the same time as the Jews who had no state and were covered with humiliation and misery. So how many are the Ayat that were sent down concerning them, and how many are the places where they are censured, and where their evil deeds, corrupt actions, and filthy beliefs are exposed.

Allaah, the Most High, says (what means):
quote:
Say, O Muhammad, to the People of the Book, the Jews and Christians, 'Do you hate from us, or find anything against us, that carries you to mock our Religion, since when we are called to the prayer you poke fun at the call, except that we believe in the Book sent down to us by Allaah and in the Revealed Books sent down before to the Prophets, and most of you are rebellious and disobedient to Allaah.'

Say to them, O Muhammad, 'Shall I tell you of what is worse in its recompense with Allaah, than what you think of us, the Jews whom Allaah has cursed and removed from His Mercy, and upon whom is His Anger, and from them were those whom He transformed into apes and swines, and those who worshipped idols. These are the ones who are worse in their plight in this world and the Hereafter, and are far astray from the right path.'
When the hypocrites from the Jews come to you, they say, 'We believe,' but they enter as disbelievers and leave as disbelievers, and Allaah knows best what they conceal. And you see many of them hastening for sin and transgression and devouring bribes. Evil indeed is that which they do. Why do not the Rabbis and the learned men forbid them from their falsehood and from devouring bribes. Evil indeed is what they practice. And the Jews say, 'Allaah's Hand is tied (He does not give of His Bounty).'

Rather their hands be tied up from good and from giving, and they are accursed for what they say. Rather both His Hands are outstretched, He spends plentifully of His bounty, as He wills. And that which We reveal to you with regard to the affairs which the rabbis and learned of the Jews hide only increases many of them in obstinate rejection and disbelief. And We have placed enmity and hatred between the Jews and the Christians until the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle the fire of war against you, Allaah extinguishes it, and they (the Jews and Christians) always strive to cause corruption upon the earth through sins and disbelief and disobedience to Allaah and His Messenger, and Allaah does not love those who cause corruption.
(al-Ma`idah, ayat 59-64)

...And whoever gives the impression to the people that the sole source of corruption is the rulers, then he is contradicting what is affirmed by the Noble Qur`an, the Prophetic Sunnah, human and Islamic history, and he is seeking to better the methodology of the Prophets, particularly when the callers restrict all their efforts and apply them solely to the political field.

SubhanAllaah! How distinct is the truth from the falsehood.

In truth, the Ikhwanees, Tahreeris, Surooris and other Khawaarij do not call to following Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and no one in opposition to him. No! Rather, they call to themselves and their way, and have made a habit of placing their opinions and desires above what the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) came with, such that a warner will come to them with an ayah or hadeeth in opposition to their dangerous statements and actions and beliefs, and this deviant will respond with disgusting statements such as, "we live in a diferent time," or "my opinion is," "wellll...," or "yeah, but," or "we need new solutions."

Allaah says (what means):

quote:
The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allaah (His Words, the Qur`an) and His Messenger, to judge between them, is that they say: "We hear and we obey." And such are the prosperous ones (who will live forever in Paradise). (An-Nur, ayah 51)

quote:
Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "If you (really) love Allaah then follow me. Allaah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Aali 'Imran, ayah 31)

Imam as-Sa'dee (rahimahullaah) said this ayah is the mizaan (scale) to differentiate between those who truly love Allaah and those who don't.

Ibn Katheer (rahimahullaah) said this ayah is hakima (a judge) upon all those who claim to love Allaah, but they're not upon the way of Muhammad. So this person [who claims "love for Allaah" but follows other than His Messenger] is a liar in his claim until he follows the legislation of Muhammad and the Prophetic Deen in all his statements, actions [and beliefs], as has been affirmed in the saheeh.

The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever does an action that is not in accordance with our affair (the Sunnah), then it will be rejected.

For this reason, Allaah said: Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "If you (really) love Allaah then follow me. Allaah will love you and forgive you of your sins. So Allaah will give you more than you desired, and you will achieve the love of Allaah.

And all praise is for Allaah, Who has made this matter clear.

Likewise, from the humility of the true scholars is they teach their students not to follow them in opposition to the Qur`an and Sunnah - and in fact to advise them when they err - and their fear for themselves.

And yet the scholars are accused by the Khawaarij of being "slaves of the rulers" or "government scholars" if they don't speak publicly regarding a mistake the ruler may have made, whereas that scholar is in fact obeying Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) in this matter. It is from the Sunnah to hate the mistakes of the rulers in your heart, and not to rebel against them nor speak publicly about them, but rather hate the mistake in your heart, have patience, and - if you are able - take the ruler by the hand and advise him in private. This is from the Qur`an and the Sunnah. And make du'aa for them - may Allaah bless you - if it is truly the correction of the Ummah that you desire.

The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: He who wants to give advice to a ruler, do not do it openly. But take him by the hand - and be alone with him - then give him the nasiha. If he takes it, that is good. And if he does not, then you have done that which is upon you.

Foolishly and hastily, the Khawaarij even Khawaarij even make takfeer of the scholars for obeying Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). And of course, Allaah has exposed the Khawaarij via revelation to His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and the wisdom that He granted those who inherited knowledge from the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

Shaikh Fawzaan said:
quote:
There is no doubt that the rulers, like other than them from mankind, are not infallible from error, so advising them is obligatory. However trying to reach out to them from the gatherings and the pulpits is considered to be the impermissible backbiting and it is a greater evil than the evil which emanates from the rulers because it is backbiting, and due to the fact that it implants fitnah and splitting of the ranks and it impacts the spreading of the dawah.

So it is obligatory to convey the advice to them by reliable means, not by exposition and spreading. As for attacking the 'ulemaa of this land by saying that they do not advise or that they are suppressed, then this is a false accusation by which the separation between the 'ulemaa and the people and the society is intended such that is easy for the one who intends corruption to implant his evil. This is because when bad thoughts about the 'ulemaa are spread, then the confidence in the 'ulemaa is lost and there arises an opportunity for those who have desires and intentions to spread their poison. And I believe that this ideology is a conspiracy from outside this land and its perpetrators are of foreign origin. So it is necessary for the Muslims to beware of this.

Allaahul Musta'aan. Just like the Khawaarij make takfeer of a Muslim ruler for tijaara (buying and trading) with the kufaar, which is actually a Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad, these Khawaarij likewise make takfeer of a scholar for not speaking publicly against a mistake of a ruler. So in both these cases, the Khawaarij made takfeer of the ones who obeyed Allaah and His Messenger. This is a sample of the ignorance and foolishness of the Khawaarij, something that our Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) warned us about over 14 centuries ago.

And abiding by these commands of Allaah and His Messenger regarding the ruler would serve as an expiation for one's sins. And the Perfect Wisdom of this - in the Qur`an and Sunnah sent down by Allaah, Al-Hakeem - is that critizing the ruler leads to others losing respect for the ruler, which leads to disobedience of the ruler, which leads to rebelling against the ruler, which leads to chaos, revolt and the spilling of the blood of Muslims, which in turn leads to the weakening and splitting of the Muslims, which in turn leads to the hypocrites and kufaar ganging up on the Muslims. So ask yourself: who in fact is "pleasing the Bushes."

So what is the objective of these Khawaarij? Rulership. They want rulership. They want to be in charge, they want power, fame; and they are blood-thirsty, as they have always been. [The Khawaarij during the time of the sahaabah were known to kill people - and believers amongst them - without asking, and yet flabbergastingly seek a fatwah from a sahaabi regarding killing a mosquito!] So all this chaos and bombings and killings and bid'ah (heresy), and the weakening/splitting of the Ummah and possibly kufr (disbelief) is for what? Position, fame, lust for the dunya - i.e. other than the sake of Allaah.

So the effect of all this is the oppression and humiliation of the disbelievers upon the Muslims. And the objective is dunya - in accordance with the Prophet's statement: "The nations are about to call one another and set upon you, just as the diners set upon their food." The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) foretold this, saying that Muslims will be like the scum upon the water even though they will be large in number, because of their love for Wahn (love for the wordly life and fear of death).

As the scholars have repeatedly warned and taught with evidences: Victory does not come from numbers; rather Allaah makes victorious those with Eeman (those who believe as the Prophet and the sahaaba believed, and traversed their way).

Do not doubt, o slaves of Allaah, that there's a perfect wisdom in Allaah's statement (what means): None fear Allaah (a complete fear) except the 'ulemma. There's a reason why Allaah commanded us to seek knowledge from the genuine scholars, the inheritors of the Prophets. There's a reason why Allaah emphasized the virtue of the scholars throughout the Qur`an and Sunnah. There's a reason why the Prophet said: Even the fish on the bottom of the ocean seek forgiveness for the scholar.

In contrast, the deviants - who slander these righteous scholars for adhering to the Qur`an and Sunnah - disgrace the rulers in public, and on the minbar, and even make takfeer of them. All of this deviance opposes the Qur`an and Sunnah, and is from the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij. [And keep in mind that slandering the scholars is more severe than the slandering of other than the scholars, due to what the scholars hold and invite to of the Qur`an and Sunnah.]

Likewise, the righteousness of the scholar who calls to Allaah and does not call to himself is as clear as the deviance of those who call to themselves and not to Allaah. The true scholars would be upset if someone called them "al-'Allaamah" (among the most learned of the scholars) or labelled them with a praiseworthy title, or didn't advise them of their mistake, or you would see them uneasy regarding high praise or glad tidings through dreams of them relayed to them, or you would hear them ask the translator or recorder not to translate or record high praise of them. And if a true scholar erred, he would repent, humble himself, recognize his mistake and be quick to declare the Deen of Allaah free from that mistake. Here is one example from Shaikh Rabee'.

In contrast, if a deviant (who slanders these scholars) was approached concerning a mistake in 'aqeedah or manhaj that he holds, instead of repenting and praising Allaah for sending one of His slaves to make him aware of that mistake (to improve his belief and his Islaam and getting him nearer to Allaah and distancing himself from the fire), instead this deviant puffs up and says, "Are you stripping me of my scholarship?"

SubhanAllaah, you make a du'aa to Allaah (O Allaah increase me in knowledge) and you're going to complain when Allaah sends someone to benefit you?

Another tremendous difference between the genuine scholars and those who oppose them - pretending to be learned, seeking the microphone, seeking to turn heads, seeking praise, seeking status and position, seeking leadership - is that the genuine scholars prefer the Qur`an and Sunnah to everything else, including their own words. Abul Hasan Malik relayed that Shaikh Saalih ibn 'Abdul-'Azeez Aali Shaikh (hafidhahumullaah) pointed out:
quote:
The reason why Shaikh Muhammad ibn 'Abdul-Wahhab (rahimahullaah) didn't begin Kitab at-Tawheed with an introduction (a khutbah) but rather directly began with Allaah's statement (which means): And I (Allaah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone) is because who is better at explaining Tawheed than Allaah?

Likewise, Imam Bukhari in his Saheeh did not begin with an introduction (a khutbah), but rather directly began with the famous hadeeth: Verily, actions are based on their intentions. And every person shall have what he intended... because who is better to discuss the Sunnah than Sahib-us-Sunnah, Muhammad, salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, who did not speak from his own desires. It was only revelation revealed to him.

And still some genuine scholars today refuse to write an introduction before a hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah is quoted.

These are the genuine scholars, dear Muslims. These are the books and the manhaj of those upon the haqq (truth). They don't put themselves or their words before Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

O you who believe! Do not put (yourselves) forward before Allaah and His Messenger, and fear Allaah. Verily! Allaah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Al-Hujurat, ayah 1)

Look at the difference, ya 'ibaadullaah. All praise is for Allaah, who has made this matter clear as day.

As the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Whomever Allaah wants good for, He gives him understanding of the religion. In explaining this, Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said, "So whomever Allaah does not want good for [due to what Allaah knows of evil in that person's heart], He does not give him understanding of the religion."

May Allaah guide to the correct understanding those who want it.

Removing Doubts that Khawaarij fabricated against Scholars

Hafidh Ibn As-Saakir (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
The flesh of the scholar is poison...and Allaah removing the cover from (exposing) the one who belittles the scholar, this is well known. And talking about them in a manner in which they are innocent is a tremendous (horrendous) affair. And to eat of their honor with lies is a matter that is shameful. It is known that Allaah causes [this slanderer's] heart to die before their body dies.

And the slanderers only harm themselves, and they acquire humiliation, because Truly, Allaah defends those who believe. (Al-Hajj, ayah 38) And Verily, Allaah does not set right the work of Al-Mufsidoon (the evil-doers, corrupts, etc.) (Yunus 10:81)

Hafidh Ibn As-Saakir (rahimahullaah) also said:
quote:
Those who find fault with the scholars of Tawheed - the scholars of the Sunnah - are the people of plotting and deceit. If they are not able to say directly (out loud) what they want to say, they will say it indirectly.

So pay attention to this, ya 'ibadullaah, so you will not be deceived.

Imam Ibn Mubarak said:
quote:
He who belittles the scholars, he will lose his hereafter.

Imam Ahmad said:
quote:
The flesh of the scholars is poisonous (to eat [by slandering]).

The genuine scholars are the Rabbani scholars, the sincere scholars who act upon their knowledge.

Shaykh Sultan ibn 'Abdur-Rahman Al-'Eid said:

quote:
Similarly, when Ibn 'Abbaas went to debate the Khawaarij, they said, 'Don't argue with him; he has come to defend his cousin (meaning 'Alee).' So they found with his niyya (intention). Their hearts are similar. Today, the Khawaarij do the same regarding the scholars. Li kulli Qawmin warith (For every people, there are inheritors) Allaahu akbar! How similar are the hearts of the people of falsehood?

The scholars have explained Tawheed and Shirk, and Sunnah and bid'ah, and (other) rulings, and have defended the Deen from shirk and bid'ah.

Some people take fiqh of salat, zakat, asting, Hajj and 'Umrah from the 'ulemma, but when it comes to da'wah and manhaj, they turn away from the 'ulemma regarding these matters as if they are not from the Deen. So these people begin to talk and confusion starts, talking about Allaah without knowledge. The ignorant make themselves prominent and transgress the limits under the pretext that there's a masliha for Da'wah. They have evil thoughts regarding the scholars.

Some of the doubts that People of Falsehood fabricated against Scholars are:

Doubt: the statement Scholars of the rulers/government (intending by this that the scholars give fataawah without truth.)

Shaikh Luhaydan (rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
Verily, I have been a judge a part of the grand body of scholars more than 30 years. By Allaah, we have never been ordered - not one day - to rule in accordance with the desire of anyone. Rather, we judged and we ruled, and we gave a fatwah based upon what we saw as the haqq (truth).

And of course, the scholars support [the truth] with daleel, as our Lord commanded. [Ponder over the daleel (ayat from the Qur`an, and ahadeeth from the Sunnah) they give.] This is something well known. Read through the books of the Scholars of the Sunnah, and this will be as clear as the sun on a cloud-less day.

Doubt: the statement The scholars do not understand the current affairs [fiqh al-waqi'].

quote:
How can the new teeth and foolish understand the current affairs, if the scholars "have missed it"? Those new teeth and foolish in the head are the Khawaarij.

Shaikh 'Ali bin Muhammad bin Nasir al-Faqihi, when asked about the reasons for the presence of doubts about the scholars in the context of ruling by the Shari'ah of Allaah and the desire of the political activists to establish it, replied:

quote:
Verily, the way of these people is just like those of the very first times in that they desire to separate the youth from the Scholars when they say, 'the scholars do not understanding anything' and when they speak evil about the key figures of the Ummah from amongst the Scholars. They also cause doubts about these scholars by their actions, so they say, 'they do not understand anything of current affairs, and nor of the affairs of the society or what Islaam requires [in the current times]; they only understand specific issues' such as what is said for example, 'the issues of womens menses and impurities.'

Shaykh Sultan ibn 'Abdur-Rahman Al-'Eid said:
quote:
This is astonishing, but if you knew the reason behind this, the astonishment would be removed. To remove the people from the scholars during the time of fitaan (trials and tribulations), so they can direct the people.

From among the greatest means of escaping Fitnah when Fitnah arises is:
The importance of returning back to the scholars of the Ummah, and Differentiating between the scholars and those who pretend to be from amongst them.

Abu 'Abdullah Jamal ibn Fareehaan al Haarithee (hafidhahullaah) said:

quote:
As for what they call Fiqh al Waaqi', then they mean by it to occupy the people with the politics and to criticize the rulers and to light up problems and remove security. They use this terminology to confuse the people. This is not a new thing from the people of 'Fiqh al Waaqi.' Their leader who preceded them - Sayyid Qutb - mentioned 'Fiqh al Waaqi' in his book 'Fi Dhilaal al Qur`an'' regarding the verse in Soorah Yusuf Make me in charge of the storage of the land. I indeed am able to guard and knowledgeable (of it since he had the ability to interpret the dream regarding the harvest).

Sayyid Qutub said, after speaking about this verse: 'The Islamic fiqh has flourished in the Islamic society. It has flourished from the organization in the society facing the needs of the current (waaqi') Islamic life. The 'Fiqh Harakaat,' differs fundamentally from the 'FIQH OF PAPERS.' The 'Fiqh Harakaat' takes into account the current affairs which the text has come upon.

Aoodhubillaah! Aoodhubillaah! Aoodhubillaah!

Doubt: Today, Suroor and others slander the scholars by calling them "the scholars of menses", and this was said by the people of bid'ah in the third and fourth centuries. Not only that, but this is actually isti'zaa` (mockery) of the Deen, finding fault with [belittling] this matter of the Deen.

Shaikh al-Faqihi also said:

quote:
Something similar was stated by their likes (of the earlier times) as occurs in the book of ash-Shatibi al-I'tisam when he mentioned about a person from the Innovators that he said, the thought of Ibn Seereen and Hasan al-Basri is one that does not extend beyond the cloths of menstruation!! And another one said, 'Certainly, the thought of ash-Shafi'ee and Abu Haneefah does not go beyond the women's undergarments!!

This is what is meant, that those scholars, such as Hasan al-Basri, Ibn Seereen, Imaam ash-Shafi'ee, Imaam Abu Haneefah, those who are leaders of the Ummah, they say about them that they do not understand anything but that.

As for these contemporary ones, then they have come out with the same claims but with different ways and means. So they say, These scholars do not understanding anything of current affairs, fiqh ul-waqi'; all they know is this particular fiqh, that of women's menses and impurities.

So the purpose behind this is to separate the youth from the scholars, for when they have achieved such a separation between the youth and the scholars who give them understanding of the religion of Allaah, it then becomes possible for them to make them [the youth] confused and enter them into whatever ideas they wish. And in such a manner have "succeeded," because they have separated the society from this particular scholar or that one.

And the mischief-makers are capable of spreading whatever ideas they wish amongst the youth because when the minds of the youth are corrupted, they fall into errors by which they harm themselves, the society they live in and the da'wah too. This is because these youth begin to seek understandings from each other, reading the hadeeths to one another and extracting the rulings from them (by themselves), and then begin implementing all this, in their views and in their desires. Yet if they had returned to the scholars, they would have explained all of this to them.

And the Khawarij, when they read the hadeeth, One who fornicates, does not do so while he is a believer, they said that such a one is a disbeliever, and they built their principle upon this. However, if there was a scholar amongst them, he would have said: "Come, there is another hadeeth, reported by Abu Dharr himself: Whoever dies upon Tawheed will enter Paradise, even if he fornicated and stole."

Therefore, the scholars are the ones who explain matters to the youth. But as for these people, then they cause doubts about the key figures of the Ummah, their goal being to separate the youth from the scholars so that they eventually do not understand anything and then begin to follow them in whatever they desire."

Doubt: And beware of those who try to lump the righteous with deviants - trying to make them equal - using statements such as "they all make mistakes" or "neither is free from error" - a word of truth by which they intend falsehood. [Abu Bakr (the best of all people after the Prophets, radiallaahu 'anhu) and Abu Lahab (who was promised the hellfire) both fit under this wide, wide umbrella.]

Imam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahumullaah) said in his monumental work 'Ilaamu al Qaeen an Rabb il 'Alameen described the 'ulemma (scholars):

quote:
quote:
They are upon the earth like the position of the stars in the heavens. Through them, the confused are guided in the darkness of the night. And (as Imam Ahmad, rahimahullaah, also used to say): the need of the people for the scholars is greater than their need for food and drink. And obedience to the (genuine) scholar is obligatory, more obligatory than obeying the mother and the father, and this is by a text from the book. Allaah, the Exalted, stated:

O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad, salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority... (An-Nisa`, ayah 59)

Imam as-Sa'dee and Ibn Katheer (rahimahumullaah) both said: Those in authority over you includes the rulers and scholars.

As-Sa'dee said: "Of course, as long as they don't order you to disobey Allaah. ...This may be the wisdom in Allaah not mentioning the word 'obey' before Those in authority over you because there is a condition to obeying them (not in disobedience), whereas there is no condition in obeying Allaah and His Messenger.

Other scholarly statements quoted:

quote:
The scholars have the most 'ilm about Islaam, so the scholars are like lamps that people get their light from. If it wasn't for knowledge, people would be like animals...

The scholars are like water, wherever it falls, it benefits...

I found the correction of my heart is in sitting with the scholars...

'Abdullaah kept on hearing his father (Imam Ahmad) making du'aa for his teacher Imam Ash-Shafi'ee, so 'Abdullaah asked about this man (Ash-Shafi'ee), and Imam Ahmad said: o my son, he was like the sun to this world and like good health for the people...

"He who doesn't bear the humiliation of learning for one hour will forever bear the humiliation of ignorance."

quote:
Imam Ibn Hazm said: It is obligatory on every group who gather in a village or a city, or a fortress to find someone who can teach them the regulations of the Deen - from the first to the last - and one who knows and teaches the Qur`an (all of it) and what is authentic regarding the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), the ahadeeth regarding regulations. If they don't find this type of person in their area who can give him fiqh in that - all of that - then it is obligatory on them to travel where they will find the scholars those who strive in the area of knowledge. Even if they are far - even in China.

Shaykh Sultan ibn 'Abdur-Rahman Al-'Eid added:
quote:
Abu Hatim said: If you find someone loving Imam Ahmad, know he is a person of the Sunnah.

Qutaiba said: If you see a man loving Ahlul-Hadeeth, like Yahya ibn Sa'eed, 'Abdur-Rahman ibn Mahdi, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Saaqib ibn Rahawi, then he is a companions of the Sunnah. And those who differ with them (their manhaj), then know that he is an innovator.

Likewise today, if you find someone loving Ibn Baaz, al-Albanee, al-'Uthaimeen, Muqbil, Rabee', Aali Shaikh, Fawzaan, Muhsin al-'Abbaad, Luhaydan, Ghadyan, then know that he is a companions of the Sunnah.

If he doesn't, beware of him and know that which is hidden is more evil than what he shows. (There's something wrong with that person's heart; he has either not yet understood the matter, or he has understood it, but he hated it, is an avowed enemy of it, and now he's trying to pull you away from it.]

Refusing Obedience to Governments (And Revolting against them) is From Actions & Calls of the Hypocrites

A questioner asked: What is the Islamic perspective of those who refuse to obey governments, and challenge them with insurgencies and revolts?

Shaikh 'Abdul-'Azeez Aali-Shaykh (the current Grand Muftee of Saudi Arabia, hafidhahullaah) answered:

quote:
We seek refuge with Allaah from such evil circumstances. These are the hypocrites. They are astray and in their hearts is a disease. They envy Islaam and its people. Whoever calls to opposing and rebelling against the leader, whoever calls to insurgence against the authorities, and whoever calls to chaos, then there's hypocrisy in his heart and a disease... These are politically sectarian people causing nothing but corruption. Allaah says (what means):
quote:
And when it is said to them, 'Do not cause corruption on earth,' they say, 'We are only trying to rectify and better the situation.' For sure, they are the corruptors but they don't realize it.' [Soorah Al-Baqarah: ayat 11-12]

quote:
Anyone who invites another person to oppose and rebel against the obedience of those in leadership and not to listen to them, then assume the worst of such a person in that he's a hypocrite and a wicked sinner.

He has no allegiance, no religion, and no loyalty. This is so because - and we seek refuge with Allaah - these types of incitements promote chaos, bloodshed, the plundering of property, and the violation of people's rights
...

So, alliance, cooperation, mutual support, and the unity of hearts and goals, and of the ranks of the people - this is what's obligated upon us and required from every individual among us. The Prophet  said:
quote:
Whoever meets Allaah (meaning whoever dies) with no allegiance of obedience upon him, then he dies a death in a state of Jaahiliyyah (pre-Islaamic state of ignorance). [Muslim (no. 4770)]

Whoever has within his heart envy and enmity towards the country and belittles obedience and social order, he lives a wretched life and dies the death of Jaahiliyyah.

Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) ordered that one must listen to and obey the leaders in the good they command. He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
Whoever sees from his leader something of disobedience to Allaah, then he should dislike [in his heart] what he does of sinning against Allaah, but he must not remove even a hand-span away from obedience (to him). [Muslim (no. 1855)]

So, it's not permissible for an individual to revolt against or leave the allegiance and obedience to his legitimate leader (government, president, king, etc). Neither is it permissible to promote such concepts because these acts are some of the greatest evils and from the foremost means leading to tribulations and enmity among people. As for the one who calls to that, such is the religion of the Khawaarij.

Allaah said (what means):
quote:
O you who believe!

The Obligation of Obedience to the Rulers

Below are authentic ahadeeth from the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), who comanded us to obey the Muslim rulers, whether they are just or unjust.

quote:
Whosoever obeys the ruler has obeyed me and whoever obeys me had obeyed Allaah; and he who disobeys the ruler has disobeyed me and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allaah. (Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim)

quote:
Whoever sees from his leader something of disobedience to Allaah, then he should dislike [in his heart] what he does of sinning against Allaah, but he must not remove even a hand-span away from obedience (to him). (Muslim, no. 1855)

quote:
quote:
Whoever meets Allaah (meaning whoever dies) with no allegiance of obedience upon him, then he dies a death in a state of Jaahiliyyah (pre-Islaamic state of ignorance). (Muslim, no. 4770)

Shaikh 'Uthmaan As-Saalimee (hafidhahullaah) advised the following with proof from Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa salaam):

quote:
They make the falsehood as an evidence for piety and do not care! Allaahul Musta'aan. Praise Allaah O people of Truth! O People of Sunnah, praise Allaah! By Allaah, you are upon good. If you eat dry bread, it's better for you than to be involved in killing a Muslim, or burn the house of a Muslim, or destroy the car of a Muslim, or loot from the Muslim. You should not get involved in these ignorant oppressions. Yes. These are from the nationalistic acts of Jaahiliyyah (pre-islamic ignorance).

Imaam Muslim reported, as you know, the hadeeth of Abu Hurairah (radiallaahu 'anhu), that the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa salaam) said:
quote:
Whoever leaves the obedience, and splits from the Jamaa'ah and dies, then his death is the death of Jaahiliyyah, and whoever fights under the flag of the blindness [the shaikh interjected: look at this blindness; they don't know where they are going from their leaders, they only know protests!] and becomes angry due to nationalism/tribalism (asabiyyah) and calls to nationalism and dies, then his death is the death of Jaahiliyyah, and whoever rebels against my nation and fights the righteous and corrupt and does not avoid (fighting) those who believe, then he is not from me and I'm not from him and he's not from me.

quote:
All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse. They said, "O Allaah's Messenger! Who will refuse?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it). (Bukhaaree, Muslim).
[The 'ulemma explain that this hadeeth regards the Muslims.]

Imaam Ash-Shawkaanee (died 1250 A.H.) said in his book Raf'-ul-Asaateen fee Hukm-il-Ittisaal bis-Salaateen (pg. 81-82):
quote:
It is well established in the Mighty Book (Qur`an) that we are commanded to obey the ruler. Allaah put obeying the rulers after obeying Him and obeying the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam). There are many ahaadeeth in the purified Sunnah, i.e. the main collections, and other books that state that it is obligatory to obey them [the rulers] and to be patient with their oppression.

One of the ahaadeeth in which the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) commanded us to obey them [the rulers] consists of the words: '...even if he beats your back and takes your money.' It is also authentically reported on him (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) that he said: 'Give them what they are entitled to (of rights), and ask Allaah for what you are entitled to (of rights).'

quote:
Verily there will be rulers who will be above you and you will know of (some of) what they do and you will wonder about some of what they do. [Meaning you approve of some and disapprove of some of what they do]. They said, 'What do you command us to do o Messenger of Allaah?' Shall we not raise the swords to their faces (i.e. fight them)?' He said, No, give them their right and ask Allaah for what is your right (that has been taken from you by them).

quote:
The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) was asked regarding the unjust rulers, 'Shall we not fight them?' to which he (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) responded: No, except if you see a very clear kufr from them and you have proof from Allaah that this is kufr. In another narration this is explained further, he (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, No, as long as they do not prevent you from salaah

quote:
He who wants to give the ruler advise, do not advise him openly, but inform (advise) him secretly. And if he obeys (accepts), then that is good. And if he does not, then you have done that which is upon you.

________________________________________________________________________
We have further explanation in the following hadeeth that shows the wisdom in not rebelling against the ruler, and the virtue of obeying Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and the outright consequence of disobeying Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) for those who fear standing before Allaah on the Day of Judgement:

quote:
It is reported that the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, There will be rulers who will come amongst you who will delay the prayer from its time. They asked, 'What should we do?' He (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, 'Pray in your homes at the time of the prayer and then pray with them.' They asked why he (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) advised them with that and he (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said: So that the blood will not be shed.

quote:
Al-Irbaad ibn Saariyah (radialahu 'anhu) reported: One day the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) delivered to us a very eloquent khutbah on account of which eyes shed tears and hearts became tender due to what was in it. A man said: 'O Messenger of Allaah, this is as if it were a parting advice. So advise us.'

He (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said: I admonish you to fear Allaah, to listen and obey (to the rulers) even if an Abyssinian (Ethiopian) slave is appointed as your leader. For whosoever among you shall live after me, will see much discord.

quote:
'Arfajah Ibn Shurayḥ reported that the Messenger of Allah (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said: Whoever comes to you while you are all in a state of unity and he seeks to cause rebellion and tries to divide you, then (the legitimate ruler could) execute him. (Muslim 1852.) [Note: this is a conditional, legitimate capital punishment verdict to be determined and carried out by legitimate leaderships or governments (only by the ruler in a Muslim state) - not by individuals]

Oppression of Rulers is due to What Our Own Hands have Earned So what will remove this Oppression? And what is The Perfect Wisdom in Allaah and His Messenger's Prohibition against Rebelling?

Allaah, The All-Knowing, The All-Wise, said in His Noble Book (what means):

quote:
And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (Ash-Shura, ayah 30)

And thus do we turn some of the oppressors against others on account of what they used to earn. (Al-An'aam, ayah 129)

quote:
Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu 'anhumma) narrated that the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:

Oh Muhajirin! [These are] five matters, if you are afflicted with them, (then you will be afflicted by the punishment that I will mention). And I seek refuge in Allaah from them befalling you. Never does indecency become apparent amongst a people and they outwardly practice it except that plagues and diseases will spread amongst them that were not present amongst their forefathers who have passed. Never do a people practice fraudulence with the scales except that they will be afflicted with famine, severe economic hardship, and the evil of the ruler will afflict them.

Never do a people withhold the Zakaah of their wealth except that they will be prevented from a drop of rain from the heavens. If it wasn't for the animals they would not be given rain.

Never do a people breach the covenant of Allaah and His Messenger except that Allaah will place their enemies over them from other than themselves. They will take some of that which is in their hands.

Never do their leaders leave off ruling by that which Allaah has revealed and choosing from that which Allaah has sent down except that Allaah will place the harm between them.
(Ibn Maajah, Ahmad; authenticated by al-Albaani)

So an oppressive ruler is a punishment from Allaah for disobeying Allaah, and from the proofs below it becomes clear that Allaah will not replace an oppressive ruler with a merciful ruler except if the people repent to Allaah and correct their actions.

Malik bin Deenaar (rahimahullaah) said that it has come in some of the (previous revealed) Books of Allaah:

I am the King of the dominion, the hearts of the kings are in my Hand. So whoever obeyed me, I made them (the kings) a mercy over him, and whoever disobeyed me, I made them a vengeance upon him. So do not occupy yourselves with reviling the kings, but rather repent and I will make them compassionate upon you.

So the solution does not lie in reviling the kings (rulers) but rather with repenting to Allaah, and the leaving off disobedience.

Ibn Abil-'Izz (d.792H, rahimahullaah) said:
quote:
Indeed, in patiently bearing their tyranny lies the wiping away of sins and a great reward. Since Allaah has not given them authority over us except due to the corruption of our own actions - and the reward is of the same type as the action. So we should strive hard in seeking forgiveness of Allaah, repent to Him and correct our actions... So if the subjects desire an end to the oppresion of the oppressive rulers, then let them also cease oppressing themselves (through sins and disobedience).  [Refer to Sharhul-'Aqeedatit-Tahaawiyyah (p. 382).]

So the ruler placed over us is directly correlated to our actions, and by us ceasing to oppress ourselves, then Allaah will place over us a ruler in accordance with our obedience. We have ourselves to blame, and upon is patience.

Az-Zubair bin 'Adi narrated: We went to Anas bin Malik and complained about the wrong we were suffering at the hand of Al-Hajjaj. Anas bin Malik said: Be patient till you meet your Lord, for no time will come upon you but the time following it will be worse than it. I heard that from the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

At-Tartushee, in his book Siraaj ul Mulook, said:
quote:
Chapter 41: "You will have rulers appointed over you that are just like you"

I haven't ceased hearing people saying your U'mmaal (meaning appointed rulers and governors) are you A'maal (actions and deeds) - just as you are, so will be your rulers appointed over you - until I was fortunate to find this meaning in the Qur`an. Allaah, the Most High, said:

And as such do we appoint some Dhaalimeen (wrongdoers, oppressors) over others to rule due to what they earned. (al-An'aam, ayah 129)

And it used to be said: Whatever you dislike of your era of time, then only your actions corrupted it.

'Abdul-Maalik ibn Marwan said:
quote:
Oh subjects, you have not been fair and objective towards us; you want from us to traverse upon the way of Abu Bakr and 'Umar while you do not behave with us or even your ownselves according to their way. We ask Allaah to aid everyone over each other.

Qatadah said:
quote:
Banu Isra'eel said: Oh our Ilah! You are [above] the heaven and we are in the earth, how can we recognize Your Pleasure from Your Anger/Displeasure? So Allaah revealed to some of His prophets: When I use the best of you over you then I am pleased with you, and when I use the worst of you over you, then I am displeased with you.

Also, 'Ubaidah As-Sulaimaanee said to 'Alee ibn Abee Taalib (radiallaahu 'anhu):
quote:
Oh Ameer al Mu'mineen: What is wrong that the people cooperated with and obeyed Abu Bakr and 'Umar while the dunya was tighter upon them than a handspan, and then became vast and ample for them, and then you and 'Uthmaan took responsibility for the Khilaafah and they didn't cooperate with or obey you, and the dunya was ample and then became tighter for both of you than a handspan?

Alee said: Because the subjects of Abu Bakr and 'Umar were like me and 'Uthmaan, and my subjects are like you and similar!

A brother of Muhammad ibn Yusuf wrote to him complaining of the oppression of the appointed rulers/governors, upon which Muhammad bin Yusuf replied:
quote:
Your communique reached mentioning what you are experiencing, and it is not befitting for one who commits disobedience to reject the punishment, and I don't see what you're experiencing to be anything other than the misfortune of sins. Salaam!

Oppressive rulers will not be removed by revolution and chaos.

Again, oppressive rulers will not be removed by revolution and chaos. So if one is forced out via rebellion, then the one replacing him will still be like them; if the people are obedient, he will be obedient, and if they are disobedient, then he will be disobedient. This is the Sunnah of Allaah regarding His rulers. If those rebelling truly want correction, then it is their own beliefs and actions they should correct. If they truly do so, then Allaah will place over them an obedient ruler.

Read how others from amongst the Salaf dealt with the oppression of the infamous al-Hajjaj ath-Thaqafi, whose oppression is known to all Muslims.

Ibn Sa'd relates in his Tabaqaat al-Kubraa (7/163-165):

quote:
A group of Muslims came to al-Hasan al-Basree (d.110, rahimahullaah) seeking a verdict to rebel against al-Hajjaaj [the tyrannical and despotic ruler]. So they said, "O Abu Sa'eed! What do you say about fighting this oppressor who has unlawfully spilt blood and unlawfully taken wealth and did this and that?" So al-Hasan said: I hold that he should not be fought. If this is a punishment from Allaah, then you will not be able to remove it with your swords. If this is a trial from Allaah, then be patient until Allaah's judgement comes, and He is the best of judges. So they left al-Hasan, disagreed with him and rebelled against al-Hajjaaj - so al-Hajjaaj killed them all. Al-Hasan used to say: If the people had patience when they are being tested by their unjust ruler, it will not be long before Allaah will give them a way out. However, they always rush for their swords, so they are left with their swords. By Allaah! Not even for a single day did they bring about any good.

It is narrated from al-Hasan al-Basree (d.110), as mentioned in Minhaj us-Sunnah of Shaikh ul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (4/528):

quote:
Verily, al-Hajjaaj is the punishment of Allaah. So do not repel the punishment of Allaah with your own hands. But you must submit and show humility, for Allaah the Most High stated:
quote:
And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allaah) with submission to Him. (Al-Mu'minoon, ayah 76).

And also from al-Hasan al-Basree, as occurs in Adaab Hasan al-Basri, of Ibn al-Jawzee, (pp.119-120):

quote:
Know - may Allaah pardon you - that the tyranny of the kings is a retribution (niqmah) from among the retributions of Allaah, the Most High. And Allaah's retributions are not to be faced with the sword, but they are to be faced with taqwaah (piety) and are repelled with supplication and repentance, remorse (inaabah) and abstention from sins. Verily, when the punishments of Allaah are met with the sword, [they] are more severe. And Maalik bin Deenaar narrated to me that al-Hajjaaj (Ibn Yoosuf) used to say, 'Know that every time you commit a sin, Allaah will bring about a punishment from the direction of your ruler (sultaan).'

And I have also been told that a person said to al-Hajjaaj, "Do you do such and such with the Ummah of Muhammad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam)?" So he replied, "For the reason that I am the punishment of Allaah upon the people of 'Iraaq, when they innovated into their religion whatever they innovated, and when they abandoned the commands of their Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) whatever they abandoned."

Shaikh Saleem al-Hilaalee (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
They think that if they change the ruler, they will attain what they desire - and this is contrary to the natural way laid down by Allaah with regard to changes which come about amongst the creation:

Verily never will Allah change a condition of a people until they change what is within their souls. (Surah Ra'd, ayah 11)

Allaah, The Most High, said in His Noble Book: O you who believe!

Those of you (Muslims) who are in authority means the rulers and the scholars, according to the mufasiroon such as Ibn Katheer and Imam as-Sa'dee.

Imaam Ash-Shawkaanee said in his book Raf'-ul-Asaateen fee Hukm-il-Ittisaal bis-Salaateen (pg. 81-82):
quote:
It is well established in the Mighty Book (Qur`an) that we are commanded to obey the ruler. Allaah put obeying the rulers after obeying Him and obeying the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). There are many ahaadeeth in the purified Sunnah, i.e. the main collections, and other books that state that it is obligatory to obey them [the rulers] and to be patient with their oppression. One of the ahaadeeth in which the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) commanded us to obey them [the rulers] consists of the words: '...even if he beats your back and takes your wealth.' It is also authentically reported on him (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) that he said: 'Give them what they are entitled to (of rights), and ask Allaah for what you are entitled to (of rights).'

The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said (about the rulers):
quote:
Obey them as long as they establish the prayer among you.

And he (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said:
quote:
(You will see things from them) that you know (to be right) and things you dislike. And when asked, "Should we oppose them with our swords?," he (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: No, not as long as they pray.

So even if they sin, you may not rebel against them - as long as they pray.

The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Whoever sees from his leader something of disobedience to Allaah, then he should dislike what he does of sinning against Allaah, but he must not remove even a hand-span away from obedience (to him).

The Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Listen and obey even if an Abyssinian slave is put in authority over you.

Meaning he's not from Quraish as all 12 khulafa (Caliphates) will be - he is from Abyssinia - yet you still must listen and obey regardless how he got to be the ruler.

quote:
Abu Hurairah (radiallaahu 'anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa salaam) said: Whosoever obeys the ruler has obeyed me and whoever obeys me has obeyed Allaah; and he who disobeys the ruler has disobeyed me and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allaah. [Bukhaaree, Muslim]

Abu Hurairah (radiallaahu 'anhu) reported that the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa salaam) said: All my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse. They said, "O Allaah's Messenger! Who will refuse?" He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa salaam) said: Whoever obeys me will enter Paradise, and whoever disobeys me is the one who refuses (to enter it). [Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The 'ulemma have stated that this hadeeth is regarding the Muslims.

Shaikh Jamaal Al-Haarithee (hafidhahullaah) said:

quote:
Look at the example of the Imaam of Ahlus Sunnah, Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullaah). He was beaten with a whip, dragged on the floor, and imprisoned due to the [the deviants' claim] of the Qur`an being "created." But in spite of this, he would refer to him [the ruler] as the "Commander of the Believers" and tell the people: "Do not rebel (against the leader); be patient." Don't we have a good example in our righteous predecessors? Or is it that we are more knowledgeable and braver than them?!

If Imam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) can be patient with the ruler in this condition and encourage others to be patient and not rebel - with all these (and other) oppressions he suffered for standing by his correct belief that the Qur`an is the Speech of Allaah, not created - then what about us today who are not asked to be patient with even a modicum of what Imam Ahmad went through, especially those removed from Muslim countries, those who live in Europe or America who ignorantly and deviantly call out against the Muslim rulers from the minbars, in addition to secretly funding and coordinating these disgusting revolutions that incur the displeasure of Allaah, and weaken the Muslims. Allaahul Musta'aan! May Allaah guide these people, and if they refuse guidance, then may Allaah break their backs so others are not affected by their poison. Allaahumma Ameen!

By Allaah, these Khawaarij will not find with Allaah a reward for this bid'ah. And unless these people repent, it is feared for them: the fire, the fire, the fire, in accordance with the Prophet's statements: They are dogs of the hellfire, and Eeman will go through them like an arrow goes through hunted prey.

How filthy are these Khawaarij (who today go by the names of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, Hizb ut-Tahreer, Qutbis, Surooris, Taliban, Al-Qaidah, Takfeeris, Jihaadis...)? Their predecessors in this filthy 'aqeedah rebelled against the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), 'Uthman and 'Alee, and declared the Messenger of Allaah, 'Uthman and 'Alee to be "unjust." The Khawaarij today lyingly claim they "only" rebel against the unjust rulers - which is exactly what the Messenger of Allaah very clearly prohibited in his statement: Even if they beat your back, take your money, for verily this is oppression and injustice - while the Khawaarij preceding them declared the Messenger of Allaah, 'Uthman and 'Alee to be "unjust." Do not fall for this trick of theirs, o brothers and sisters: if their predecessor found fault with the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and accused him of being "unjust," saying "be just, o Muhammad," and then "fear Allaah, o Muhammad," then who in this Ummah will they not find "unjust." Allaahul Musta'aan!

From amongst these Khawaarij was the revolutionary Sayyid Qutb, who not only made takfeer of the entire Ummah, rebelled against the ruler, and had 181 mistakes in 'aqeedah in his commentary on the Qur`an, but also heavily criticized 'Uthman, even saying about him that 'Uthman "left the spirit of Islaam" [referring to 'Uthman, whom Allaah is pleased with and whom Allaah guaranteed Paradise]. These people - the Khawaarij - routinely choose and act on Qutb's opinions in opposition to the Qur`an and Sunnah.

Likewise, even talking about ther ruler (backbiting him) is from the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij, for it leads to disobedience of the ruler which leads to rebelling (revolution) against him which leads to the chaos and the spilling of the blood.

Ziyaad ibn Kusaib al-Adawiyy said, "I was with Abu Bakrah beneath the minbar (pulpit) of Ibn 'Aamir. He was giving a speech and was wearing a fine garment. So Abu Bilal said, 'Look at our ameer wearing the garment of the disobedient.' Then Abu Bakrah said: Be silent. I heard the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) say:

quote:
Whoever demeans (disgraces) the sultan (ruler) of Allaah upon the earth, Allaah will humiliate him." (at-Tirmidhee, authenticated by Imaam al-Albaanee may Allaah have mercy upon him)

Shaikh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-'Uthaimeen (rahimahullah) said:
quote:
So when speaking about the king by backbiting, giving him advice in the open and publicizing (his faults), when that is (but) humiliation of him, that humiliation for which Allaah has threatened the one who does it with humiliation and debasement, then there is no doubt that it is obligatory to carefully observe what we have mentioned - that he should desire to give advice in secret and other such things. This being for the ones who are capable of advising them, from among the scholars, those who visit them and mix with them, and by whose advise they find benefit, as opposed to those besides the (scholars)....
(Maqaasidul-Islaam, p. 393)

And beware of talking about the ruler (criticizing him), or writing about him (criticizing him), or inciting the people against the ruler, or believing in such with your heart - even if you don't hold weapons or make takfeer. All this is from the 'aqeedah of the filthy Khawaarij, about whom the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) notified that they will be dogs of the hellfire, and that Masih ad-Dajjal (the Anti-Christ) will apear from amongst them.

Shaikh Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) said:
quote:
The one who said to the Messenger "you are not just," then this was the precursor of rebellion. He rebelled against the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) in the sense that accused him of treachery. And it is not from the conditions of being from the Khawaarij that one carries weapons; rather when a person believes in takfeer of the Muslims because of major sins, then he becomes a Khaarijee and upon their madhab. And if he incites the people against the ruler of the Muslims by his sermons and writings, even if he didn't raise his sword, then this is the madhab of the Khawaarij.

And the Khawaarij are of many types. Amongst them are those carry weapons, those who speak with the like of what this man said to the Prophet (sal allaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and amongst them are those who write, and those who believe with their hearts and do not speak or do anything, but in his 'aqeedah and in his heart is the 'aqeedah of the Khawaarij. However some of them are more severe than others.

So how is the ruler advised?

quote:
The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: He who wants to give advice to a ruler, do not do it openly. But take him by the hand - and be alone with him - then give him the nasiha. If he takes it, that is good. And if he does not, then you have done that which is upon you.

The Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Hear and obey the ruler, even if he beats your back and takes your wealth.

And there's a perfect Hikma (Wisdom) in the commands of Allaah and His Messenger to obey the ruler - not rebelling or revolting against them, nor speaking publicly about them - EVEN if they are oppressive, unjust, beat your back, take your provision, deny you your rights, and unleash tyranny.

Why? Because it will result in a greater harm. It will result in chaos, revolutions, the spilling of the blood of Muslims, and the splitting and weakening of the Muslims.
quote:
It is reported that the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: There will be rulers who will come amongst you who will delay the prayer from its time. They asked, 'What should we do?' He (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Pray in your homes at the time of the prayer and then pray with them. They asked why he (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) advised them with that, and he (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: So that the blood will not be shed.

Ibn Abil-Izz al-Hanafi stated in explanation of the saying of Imaam at-Tahaawi, "We do not consider (the permissibility) of revolting against our leaders and rulers of our affair, even if they are tyrannical...", as occurs in Sharh Aqidah at-Tahawiyyah (1/430):

quote:
And as for adhering to obedience to them (the Rulers), even if they commit oppression, then this is because the evils and harms that arise on account of rebelling against them is numerous times more than that which occurs as a result of the oppression of the Rulers themselves. Rather, in having patience over their oppression there is expiation of sins, and a multiplication of the reward.

For Allaah did not empower them over us, except due to the corruption in our actions, and the recompense for an action is its like (al-jazaa'u min jins il-'amal). Hence, it is upon us to strive (ijtihaad) in seeking forgiveness, making repentance and rectification of our actions.

Allaah the Most High said (what means): And whatever affliction befalls you, then it is from what your hands have earned, yet He pardons much." (Ash-Shura, ayah 30), and He, the Most High said: If a calamity befell you (the believers),[your enemies] were inflicted with twice as much, but you said, "Where did this(calamity) come from?" Say: It has come from your own selves." (al-'Imran, ayah 165), and He the Most High said: And whatever evil befalls you, then it is from your own soul. (An-Nisa`, ayah 79), and He the Most High said: And thus do we turn some of the oppressors against others on account of what they used to earn. (al-An'aam, ayah 129).

Hence, if the subjects (of a state) wish to save themselves from the oppression of the tyrannical ruler, then let them abandon oppression themselves. And from Malik bin Deenaar (who said) that it has come in some of the (previous revealed) Books of Allaah:

quote:
I am the King of the dominion, the hearts of the kings are in my Hand. So whoever obeyed me, I made them (the kings) a mercy over him, and whoever disobeyed me, I made them a vengeance upon him. So do not occupy yourselves with reviling the kings, but rather repent and I will make them compassionate upon you.
For more, click here

The 'ulemma explain that these actions of refusing to obey the government and of rebelling against the ruler is from the actions of the munafiqoon (hypocrites).

Allaah, the All-Knowing, All-Wise, says:
quote:
In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allaah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 10)

And when it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "We are only peacemakers." (Al-Baqarah, ayah 11)

Verily! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 12)

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad [salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam], Al-Ansaar and Al-Muhajiroon) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 13)

Thus they [the hypocrites] hinder (men) from the Path of Allaah. Verily, evil is what they used to do. (Al-Munafiqun, ayah 2)

That is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed, so they understand not. (Al-Munafiqun, ayah 3)

And when you look at them, their bodies please you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allaah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path. (Al-Munafiqun, ayah 4)

And these ill-advised and disobedient revolutions not only took place in the time of the later sahaabah and the rest of the Salaf right after them - against the Salaf's advises and warnings - but also recently. The deviants and ignoramusus continue rebelling - against the scholars' advises and warnings - and what befalls the countries is exactly what Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) warned against, and why Allaah and His Messenger prohibited this, and why the scholars of the Sunnah have long and tirelessly advised and warned against this.

Allaah is Al-Hakeem, meaning the All-Wise. The noble scholar of Tafseer Imam As-Sa'dee (rahimahullaah) said in his benefecial book Explanation To The Beautiful And Perfect Names of Allaah:
quote:
He is the one to Whom belongs the highest wisdom, the One Who is All-Wise in His creating and ordering, the One Who made well everything that He created:

And who is better in judgement than Allaah for a people who have firm Faith. (Al-Ma`idah, ayah 50)

Therefore, He has created nothing out of mere frivolity, and He has legislated nothing that is vain and of no use.

He is the One to Whom belongs judgement in the beginning and the end. He has three areas of ruling that nothing else has a share in: He rules over His servants with respect to His law, His decree, and His recompense. Wisdom is to put something in its correct place.

For those who believe not in the Hereafter is an evil description, and for Allaah is the highest description. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. (An-Nahl, ayah 60)

It is He (Allaah) Who is the only Ilah (True Deity to be worshipped) in the heaven and the only Ilah (True Deity to be worshipped) on the earth. And He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower. (Az-Zukhruf, ayah 84)

Rather the believer, who desires Paradise and fears the hellfire, submits and obeys - and does not reject the commands of Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

The only saying of the faithful believers, when they are called to Allaah (His Words, the Qur`an) and His Messenger, to judge between them, is that they say: "We hear and we obey." And such are the prosperous ones (who will live forever in Paradise). (An-Nur, ayah 51)

quote:
But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. (An-Nisa, ayah 65)

Imam as-Sa'dee said regarding this verse:

quote:
- Making the Messenger the judge in the disputed affairs is on the level of Islaam.
- There not being any aversion in the heart to the judgment is the level of Eemaan.
- Submitting with full submission is the level of Ihsaan.

Therefore, whoever completes these levels has completed all the levels of the religion. Whoever leaves off this method of establishing the mentioned judgment, being one who doesn't hold to it (as being the truth) is a disbeliever. Whoever leaves it off along with him holding to it (as being the truth) then he has the ruling of being one who is disobedient.

Al-Hamdulillaah, Who perfected our religion for us and completed His favor upon us, and is pleased with Islaam as a religion for us.

May Allaah guide the Muslims to be pleased with Him as our Lord, and Islaam as our religion, and Muhammaad (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) as our Prophet.
