In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent Most Merciful,
Barring ones Wife from visiting her Family by Sheikh Fouzaan -may Allah preserve him- [Reference below]:
Question: Noble Sheikh, my husband prohibits me from going to my mothers house except once a month. So do I have to obey him (in that)?
Answer: It is not permitted for the husband to reach a point where he severes the ties of the womb and prevents his wife from seeing her parents and visiting them. This is something that is not permissible for him to do nor does he have the right thereof.
Rather he must facilitate that for her from visiting her parents and giving them the salaam (salutations). And he doesn't seperate between her and her parents except if he fears they will corrupt and pollute her or that their house isn't adhering to the religion of al-Islaam (its teachings and instructions) or it has things that will negatively effect his wife in her religion then he has the right to prevent her from going.
But as long as her parents home is secure and wholesome and they do not interfere in her relationship between her and her husband then he has no right in preventing her (from visiting them).
