He was not and is not a "Wahhabi", Salafi. Rather, he is an extreme Takfeeri (ex-communicator), Qutbee (follower of Sayyid Qutb). He is mentally unstable*.
*I say that not to be in any way prejudiced against anyone who has a mental health problem, but only to point out that his extreme views should not be given any validity or recognition
