I would like to know what is the ruling regarding incorrect fasting. If the person has accepted islam and does not learn how to fast correctly and was not taught. Then some 15 to 20 years later the person comes into salafiyah and reads from the books and realizes that the way they were fasting before was incorrect. Does this person have to make up for All the years piror? Is there a expiation that could be taken? or does the person simply ask for forgivness?
