As-Salaamu 'Alaykum,

Bismillah,

[The Author of Buloogh al-Maraam on Buloogh al-Maraam]


Ibn Hajr [d. 852 AH] (1), may Allah have mercy on him, said about his book Buloogh al-Maraam:

"This is a concise book that contains the most important Prophetic traditions (Hadeeth) used to
extract rulings of Islamic legislation [in al-Fiqh]. I phrased this book with extreme accuracy, to
the point that those who memorize it will surpass their contemporaries [in knowledge]. It is a
book which is helpful to beginning students of knowledge, and it is a book which advanced
students are not free of referring back to..."(2)

[Shaykh Bin Baaz (d. 1420 AH) and Buloogh al-Maraam]


'Abdur-Rahman b. Abdul 'Azeez b. Baaz said about his father (Shaykh Bin Baaz):

"Buloogh al-Maraam was an important book to him. This book accompanied him for over sixty
years, from the beginning of is life to the end of it. It accompanied him at home and when he
travelled. It accompanied him in his youth and in his old age. It accompanied him when he was
healthy and when he was ill. It accompanied him during his nights and during his days.

His personal copy of Buloogh al-Maraam never left his side, and he would constantly be working
on it. He devoted much of his time to it, and he put much thought and knowledge into it. This led
him to the point that in his final will and testament, he ordered that great importance be given to
his personal copy of Buloogh al-Maraam and that it be printed..."(3)

(1) TN: Ibn Hajr, may Allah have mercy on him, was an Imaam, a preserver of Prophetic tradition
and the head judge of his time. He was born in 773 AH in Misr. He sought Islamic knowledge at a
young age and became extremely proficient in it. He also spent much time teaching and passing
judgments. He died in the year 852 AH.
