as salaamu 'alaykum
a salafee brother asked the following question and was hoping for a really good reply. pls help. shuran wa baarakallaahu feekum jamee'an

Some persons around have been using the ayat 15:29 to make outrageous claims and statements (eg. we have God in us; we are divine; God is part of us, etc. the regular nonsense that you must have heard so many times before)

Yusuf Ali and Pickthall have similar translations. "When I have fashioned him and  breathed into him of My spirit......."   Yusuf Ali.    "So, when I have made him and have breathed unto him of My spirit......"    Pickthall.
But Muhsin Khan & Al-Hilaalee translation is " So,when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him the soul which I created for him....."
And in a translation of the Qur'aan put out by Abul-Qasim Publishing House & Saheeh International the ayat is translated "And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him My(created) soul...."
Some people use only Yusuf Ali's translation, they don't want to hear about any other translation.
Allaah states clearly in soorah Ikhlaas "And there is none co-equal or comparable to Him"
So why do they want to venture into areas which will include shirk and kufr ?
Do you have available any material that I can use to refute these ridiculous claims and statements?

Baarak Allaahu fee kum.

wa 'alaykumus-salaam

Shaykh Rabee' discussed the issue of Allaah's Rooh (soul, spirit) that was blown into Aadam in his last class on the book ash-Sharee'ah, which is on PALTALK in the Salafi Duroos room every Friday at about 4pm Makkah time (8am EST).  He mentioned that it is indeed created, and that things that are mentioned mudhaaf to Allaah are of two types:

[1] Created things, like the Messenger of Allaah, the She-Camel of Allaah, the House of Allaah, etc.

[2] Allaah's Attributes, like the Speech of Allaah, the Hand of Allaah, the Face of Allaah, etc.

So just because it is mentioned by idhaafah ("Allaah's Rooh") does not mean it refers to Allaah's Attributes and not His Creation.

The shaykh mentioned that everything is either Creator or creation.

The word Rooh also is used to refer to Jibreel and to 'Eesaa ibn Maryam as well.
