With regards to the sharh of ibn Al-Battah then I will have to get back to you on that or if anyone else knows then please post. As for him explaining Bukhaari then this is the 1st I have heard and from the little that I know is that Imaam Bukhaari himself narrated from Imaam Ahmad (one hadeeth). There is another explanation of Bukhaari that is incomplete by the great Imaam ibn Rajab that is in print and I heard it is very nice as he explains the hadeeth in his usual manner.

The best print without doubt is the print of al-Maktabah as-Salafiyyah of suadia which I doubt you would be able to get your hands on as I myself have been asked many many times to sell my print!, this print is relied upon by the shuyookh and students. However a brother informed me that the Daarus salaam print is also very good and is a print that is very good to read from.
