I was wondering if any of the brothers (or sisters) could shed some light on which are the best editions of the following books:

1. Al-Isaabah Fee Tamyiz-is-Sahabah of Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalaanee

2. Al-Ansaab of As-Sam'aanee

أما بعد:

wa alykum salam alykum

al-Ansaab - Printed in the 1970s by Daa'irah al-Ma'rifah, India. It is 13 volumes. Republished recently.

al-Isaabah - editing by Shaikh Abdullah al-Turki. Printed in 2008 by Dar Hijar. 16 volumes.

[The older two which are often quoted are 1] editing by Ali al-BaJaawi. Printed in 1972 by Matbah Nahdah, Egypt. 8 volumes & 2] Printed in 1907 by al-Sa'aadah. 4 volumes and also in 1939 by Maktabah Tijaariyah al-Kubra....both of these have been republished recently.
