The Ruling Regarding Islamic Nasheeds By The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul-Aziz Ahl-Shaykh

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LIcqrYTfR0

A Question to Shaykh Abdul-Aziz Bin Abdullah Aal-Shaykh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the Committee of Senior Ulema [religious scholars] and Chairman of the Department of Scientific Research and Ifta [guidance]:

"What is the ruling concerning gathering upon sound anaashed that call to good?"

Answer:

"My personal position concerning this is that I have reservations as I fear that this is an extension of the songs & chanting of the Sufis. And I fear that it will busy people away from taking pleasure in listening to the Quran and reflecting over it. Thus, I have reservations concerning this even though some of our brothers have made it permissible and have said it is better than that which is lesser than it. But I personally fear that it will draw people towards the singing and chanting of the Sufis that has no good in it."

Imaam ash-Shaafi'ee (d.241H) -- rahimahullaah -- in al-Umm (6/209), "Indeed, music is makrooh (His statement 'makrooh' means that it is unlawful, since this is what it meant amongst the early people) amusement resembling falsehood. And whosoever listens to it much, then he is an idiot (safeeh) whose testimony is to be rejected."

Shaykh 'Abdul Muhsin al-'Abbaad said,

"A person should spend his time with what will give him good in return in this life and the life after this. Let him occupy himself with remembrance of Allaah, read the Qur'aan and beneficial books. Moreover, it is also fine to listen to beneficial poetry which urges to noble character and good adab. But as for these Anasheed which are listened to in these times, and which are sung in choirs to thereafter be recorded and sold, one should neither listen to them nor care about them (i.e one should ignore them)."

(al-Qawl al-Mufeed fee Hukm-il-Anaasheed, p. 70)

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu 'ala rasulullaah
Amma ba'd

Shaikh Jamaal al-Harithi (hafidhahullaah) said similiar:

How Ikhwanul Muslimeen brainwash children/students into deviance, suicide, terrorism, etc...

Abu Muhammad al-Maghrabee (hafidhahullaah) - while teaching Sharh us-Sunnah - taught us that it is from the manhaj of firqat Ikhwanul Muslimeen that they take the ignorant children to camps, disconnect them from the genuine scholars, teach them an-Naasheed, and shown them tapes of children being harmed to get them emotional, and then brainwash them into deviant acts such as blowing oneself up to become a "shaahid."

As Abu Muhammad explained: obviously, this is not martyrdom; and additionally, suicide (and terrorism) are not from Islam.

Abu Muhammad said:
quote:
If any of these children had any intelligence, they would ask these intstructors: "Then, why don't you do it?"

And Abu Muhammad told us where to find more information on these deviant camps of firqat Ikhwanul Muslimeen. So on page 129 of Shaikh Saalih al-Fawzaan's "Beneficial Answers to Questions on Innovated Methodologies", the following question appears:

Question [47]: How should the youth who are starting out (in their studies) interact with innovators and those who hold destructive ideas and deviant beliefs?

Answer given by Shaikh Fawzaan[47]:
quote:
The youth should keep away from the innovators and those who take part in destructive methodologies and deviant ideologies. They should keep far away from them and their books. And they should stick closely to the people of knowledge and insight, i.e., those who have a pure 'Aqeedah (creed), by taking knowledge from them, gathering with them, and asking them questions.

As for the people of bid'ah (innovation) and destructive ideologies, the youth are obligated to abstain from them since they will cause harm to them and inject their corrupt beliefs, innovations, and misconceptions into them. This is since a teacher has an effect on his student and - no doubt - a deviant teacher will corupt the youth due to that. As for the upright teacher, he will set the students and youth straight under his care. So the teacher has a big role, and he should not be lenient about these matters.

So in the footnotes of the same book, Shaikh Fawzaan's student Shaikh Jamaal al-Harithi (hafidhahumullaah) brought proof from the deviants' own statements to show that these "field trips" and "camps" are actually part of their manhaj (methodology).

First, he gave detailed proofs of the deviance of Hasan At-Turaabee, from at-Turaabee's own deviant book entitled "The Religion and Fine Arts", which encourages artwork and drawing, an-Naasheed, music, singing, and plays, all the while Falsely claiming the tabi'een and scholars did such. [Shaikh Jamaal al-Harithi even made this du'aa against at-Turaabee: "May Allaah give him what he deserves!] [Ameen!]

quote:
"Noble reader! I wish I didn't have to burden your ears with these sickening statements that bring disease to the hearts. However, I only relay them due to the obligation of clarifying the errors, mistakes, and dangers of this man and his likes, so that the people can be aware of his reality and not be fooled by him, and so they can no longer be deceived by him more than they already have.

This is the condition of Ikhwanul Muslimeen. They permit plays and innovated an-Naasheed (hymms) of the Sufis, not to mention lies and distortions all for the sake of "benefiting the Da'wah," as they claim. These acts are from the distinguishing signs and characteristics of Ikhwanul Muslimeen who abide by the [deviant] principle: "The ends justifies the means."

Some of their activities include "Summer centers," and "field trips," and "camp outings."  These are from the mandates and plans of the founder of fircat (sect) Ikhwanul Muslimeen, Hassan al-Bannah. The proof for this is what he said in his [own] book "Mudhakkirat ad-Da'wah wad-Daa'iyah" (pg. 270): "These groups, the tour groups of Ikhwanul Muslimeen, originated after the inception of the (Ikhwani) Da'wah. And its first groups almost didn't disband. I myself joined one of these groups, and I would personally coach some of the sports activities in it."

[Shaikh Jamaal al-Harithi then said] Let us find out, my brother, what goes on in these "summer outings." Hasan al-Bannah said in his [own] book "Mudhakkirat ad-Da'wah wad-Daa'iyah" (pg. 280) under the heading Aspects of Activity. "First: Summer Outing Section:The purpose of these outings is for military training, making acquaintances, and spreading Da'wah. These outings are organized to take place on the Friday of every week during the summer months when school is not in session. It is required for the brothers participating to wear hiker's gear or a military uniform."

I [Shaikh Jamaal al-Harithi] say: The camp outings and centers that exist today, which we have witnessed do not request their participants to wear military apparel; since if they did, they would be exposing themselves, and their plots and schemes would uncovered. However, they do request their participants to purchase sports unifiorms, so think about that!!!

Hasan al-Bannah [not to be confused with the living genuine scholar who goes by the same name] then [went] on to say: "The military summer camps:The purpose of these camps is military training and physical excercise in open air and ground... The brothers participating are divided into groups, and it is required for them to wear hiker's gear or military apparel."

quote:
Noble reader, if you want a confirmation that summer centers, military camps and camping trips that you see today and that you or your children may have participated in some time before, or which you may still be taking part in, are a continuation of these centers, camps and trips that Hasan al-Bannah formed and recommended, then listen to what Hasan al-Bannah has to say and apply it to the schedules that are presented to you, the names of the tents you sleep in and the assemblies that are with you. He said, while narrating a story from one of his friends: "He, may Allaah have mercy on him, narrated to me himself that during a security patrol one night before Fajr, he passed by inspecting tents. And (he found that) these tents were named after some of the leading companions. So this one was called the Tent of Abu Bakr, that one the Tent of Abu 'Ubaydah, this one the Tent of Khaalid, and that one the Tent of Sa'ad bin Abee Waqqas, and so on." ["Mudhakkirat ad-Da'wah wad-Daa'iyah": pg. 289]

After seeing these quotes from the statements of the people of bid'ah (innovation), their speech regarding 'Aqidah (creed), and their belittlement of the leader of all humans (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), then whoever praises and commends them or magnifies their books or makes excuses for them, must be included amongst their ranks. This was the methodology of the Salaf.

Shaikh ul Islaam ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said,
quote:
"It is obligatory to punish whoever ascribes himself to them (i.e., the people of innovation) or defends them, or praises them, or magnifies their books, or hates that they be spoken against, or begins to make excuses for them such as by saying he doesn't know what this speech (against them) is or 'who said that he wrote this book'. This goes the same for similar excuses like these, which no one utters except an ignoramus or a hypocrite. Rather, it is obligatory to punish everyone who is aware of their condition yet doesn't assist in standing against them, for indeed standing against these individuals is form the greatest of obligations."
[Majmoo' al Fataawaa (2/132)]

Ibn 'Awn (rahimahullaah) said,
quote:
"Whosoever sits with an innovator is worse than him."
[al-Ibaanah (2/473)]

And Sufyaan ath-Thawree (rahimahullaah) said,
quote:
"Whoever walks along with the innovators, in our opinion, is an innovator."

May Allaah preserve our genuine scholars (and their genuine students), and support them against falsehood and its people! Ameen.

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.

Nasheeds Are Bi'dah [Innovation], - The ruling regarding Islaamic Nasheeds(singing/chanting)!!

Question: Noble Shaykh, Muhammad Saalih al-'Uthaymeen, as-Salaam 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahe wa-barakaatuhu. Is Islaamic inshaad (singing/chanting) permissible for men? And is it permissible to accompany inshaad with the playing of the duff? Is inshaad permissible for other than `Eeds and parties?,

Response: In the Name of Allaah, All Gracious, All Merciful, as-Salaam 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahe wa-barakaatuhu. Islaamic inshaad is an innovation, resembling that which the Soofiyyah (Soofees) have invented. Because of this, it is befitting to abandon this for the message of the Qur.aan and Sunnah. O Allaah, were it that this had occurred on the battlefield then it would motivate courage and Jihaad in the Path of Allaah, the Almighty. Then this is good. And if the duff is used along with this, then this is (venturing) further from that which is correct. , Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen al-Bid'u wal-Muhdathaat wa maa laa Asla lahu - Page 229; Fataawa fadheelatush-Shaykh Muhammad as-Saalih al-'Uthaymeen - Volume 1, Page 134

Also...

Shaikh Zaid Al Madkhali was asked when does a man become a Hizbee? Henceforth he gave seven descriptions - from them:

حبه للأناشيد والتمثيليات ودفاعه الحار عنها وعن أهلها.

Their love for Nasheeds and plays and defending it and its people to his utmost
