Allamah Muhammad ibn Saleh al-Uthaymeen rahimahullah adds in his explanation of Lum'at ul I'tiqaad when discussing the seven attributes that the Ashaa'irah/Kullaabiyyah affirm:
They only affirm seven Attributes, claiming that the intellect proves them. And they make ta'weel (distortion) of the other (Attributes). And they (the seven Attributes) are mentioned in the line of poetry:
Hayy 'aleem qadeer wal kalaam lahu
Iraadah wa kadhaak as sam' wal basar
The Ever Living, the All Knowing, the All Powerful and He has Speech
Will and similarly Hearing and Seeing
And they have other innovations with regards to the meaning of Speech and Qadr and other than that.(Ta'leeq mukhtasar 'alaa kitaab lum'at il i'tiqaad p889)

Are the Ash'arees Jahmiyyah?
So he replied:
Yes, they are Jahmiyyah in accordance with those statements of the Jahmiyyah which the (the Ash'arees) hold as their creed and belief.
So they are not "pure" Jahmiyyah but they (the Ash'arees) do have with them tajahhum with regards to denying some of the Attributes; as for the Names (of Allaah), then they do not reject these.

Below is an extract from another fatwa of [url=http://salafitalk.net/st/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=19&Topic=9412]Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan[/url] in which he was asked about the various types of Murjiah.
TWO: Those who say that eemaan is testification in the heart only.
This is the statement of the Ashaa'irah (the Ash'arees).

ÇáøóÐöíäó ÂÊóíúäóÇåõãõ ÇáúßöÊóÇÈó íóÚúÑöÝõæäóåõ ßóãóÇ íóÚúÑöÝõæäó ÃóÈúäóÇÁåõãú æóÅöäøó ÝóÑöíÞÇð ãøöäúåõãú áóíóßúÊõãõæäó ÇáúÍóÞøó æóåõãú íóÚúáóãõæäó Those to whom We gave the Scripture (Jews and Christians) recognise him (Muhammad or the Ka'bah at Makkah) as they recongise their sons. But verily, a party of them conceal the truth while they know it - [i.e. the qualities of Muhammad which are written in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)]. |

And they testify to it in their hearts.
Allaah Ta'aala says regarding the Mushrikoon:

ÞóÏú äóÚúáóãõ Åöäøóåõ áóíóÍúÒõäõßó ÇáøóÐöí íóÞõæáõæäó ÝóÅöäøóåõãú áÇó íõßóÐøöÈõæäóßó æóáóßöäøó ÇáÙøóÇáöãöíäó ÈöÂíóÇÊö Çááøåö íóÌúÍóÏõæäó We know indeed the grief which their words cause you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam)): it is not you that they deny, but it is the Verses (the Qur'ân) of Allâh that the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers) deny. |

So these people did not state upon their tongues nor did they act with their limbs, yet they did testify in their hearts ý so they did not become people of eemaan (mu'minoon). |
