IN THE NAME OF ALLAAH THE MOST GRACIOUS THE MOST MERCIFUL.
al-Hamdu-Lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'alaa Ashrafil-Anbiyaa.e wal-Mursaleen, wa ba'd:

As salaamu alaikum warahmatullaah
I have been asked a question by my cousin to which I was not able to give an answer. If you could perhaps help me and shed some light it would be of great assistance. And also please do be patient with me. The question is

Why can?t we pray salaah in a language other then Arabic?

I did quote the hadeeth in which the prophet sallalaahu alaihi wasallsam said to pray as you have seen me praying and then I remained silent and said that i'll try to get an answer, inshaAllaah.

Secondly, i would also like to know whether or not we can supplicate in sujood and in the final tashahhud with dua's from the Qur'an and say in another language?  or should only those supplications made for which we have a proof?

JazakAllahu khairan

Alaikum salaam
