Shaykh ?Ubayd al-Jaabiree Rebukes Usaamah al-Qoosee for his Shameless and Evil Statement against the Salafees The following question was posed to al-?Allaamah ?Ubayd Ibn ?Abdullaah al-Jaabiree al-Atharee at the recent Salafee seminar in Birmingham England, organized by Salafi Publications, in early September of 2002: [Q]: ?A questioner asks O Shaykh, There is some speech surrounding a caller named Usaamah al-Qoosee, so what do you know about this man?? [A]: ?I do not know Usaamah al-Qoosee. So due to this understanding of mine, I do not disparage (jarh) him, nor do I commend (ta?deel) him. So he is unknown to me. However, I heard a statement from him on a cassette that reached me from the Emirates. In it he attributes to those who have opposed Abul-Hasan from the Yemenis, and these opponents (of Abul-Hasan) are people of Sunnah according to us up until this time. He attributed to them and described them as being the followers of Dhul-Khuwaysirah at-Tameemee. And due to that, I dislike him and I rebuke him for this statement. Rather, I hate him for this statement, because it is a shameless and evil statement. And a caller to Allaah upon insight (baseerah) would not say it. Rather, it is from the speech of evil people.? COMMENTS: Dhul-Khuwaysirah was the father of the Khawaarij [Refer to Fathul-Baaree (12/283-302) and Muslim (no. 2316)]. So this statement of Usaamah al-Qoosee would seem to indicate that all those Scholars, in addition to the mashaayikh of Yemen, who opposed and refuted Abul-Hasan would fall under this category of being ?followers of Dhul-Khuwaysirah!? We seek refuge in Allaah from such shameless and evil speech about the Salafiyyeen. Remember ? O Sunnee ? the statement of Imaam Aboo Ja?far at-Tahaawee, ?And we do not mention the Scholars of the Salaf, from the early ones and those who came after them from the taabi?een ? the people of goodness and the athar, the people of fiqh and insight ? except in a good manner. And whosoever mentions them with evil, then he is not upon the path.? [Refer to al-?Aqeedatut-Tahaawiyyah (no. 203).] May Allaah guide Usaamah al-Qoosee to recant from this statement and join the likes of al-?Allaamah Rabee?us-Sunnah Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee, ?Ubayd Ibn ?Abdullaah al-Jaabiree, Faalih Ibn Naafi? al-Harbee, ?Abdul-Muhsin al-?Abbaad, Zayd Ibn Muhammad al-Madkhalee, Ahmad Ibn Yahyaa an-Najmee, Muhammad Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee, Saalih Ibn Sa?d as-Suhaymee, Muhammad Ibn ?Abdul-Wahhaab al-Bannaa and their brothers in Yemen, such as Shaykh Yahyaa al-Hajooree, Saalih al-Bakree, Muhammad Ibn ?Abdul-Wahhaab al-Wassaabee and others from those who have come out and refuted Abul-Fitan al-Mubtil al-Mufarriq al-Mubtadi?. And let no one deceive himself by thinking that this is a ?dispute between the Scholars? as some ignoramuses have claimed in Toronto. Rather, the Scholars ? by agreement ? have refuted the corrupt methodology of Abul-Fitan al-Mubtadi?.
