As-Salaamu 'alaykum -

The media tries to blame Salafiyyah ("the Salafi Da'wah"), or the Salafi Muslims, also called "Wahhabis" by the media, for the horrible actions of the destructive sect: the khawaarij (extremist political overthrowers).  It became very noticable with 9/11 and continues on until today, for example the Riyaadh bombings just recently.

On October 26, 2001, The Guardian printed a report entitled "Salafi Views Unite Terror Suspects; (the Binding Tie)," in which its authors, John Hooper and Brian Whitaker, claim that, "The diverse group of terrorists that launched the Sept. 11 attacks appear to have embraced the same fundamentalist Salafi interpretation of Islam."

Falsely trying to link the Salafi/"Wahhabi" methodology to al-Qaeda, they reported the misleading claim that "Investigators hunting members of Osama bin Laden's network have discovered that all the suspected terrorists arrested in Europe over the past ten months follow an extreme Salafi interpretation of Islam."

The author of the Wahhabi myth states, "If only John Hooper and Brian Whitaker had researched the origins of al-Qaeda's ideology, which was clearly formed upon the writings of Sayyid Qutb, who was Egyptian and not Saudi, their readers would have benefited many times over. Had they researched this subject carefully, they would have known that what is taught on an official basis at the University of Medina is an in-depth analysis of the falsity of the Khawarij's system of belief..."

Members of this forum have repeatedly posted the words of the Salafi scholars regarding the 9/11 attacks as well as other events, so do not be fooled and think that Salafis are to blame for the killing of innocents and the destruction of property with no right.  Our call is very simple and clear - we want to clarify to the people the message of our Lord that He has sent with all His Prophets: Worship none other than Allaah and stay away from false dieties.

I heard myself last weekend on the sunday morning talk shows in the US members of the US Congress making statements like "The Saudis have to know that they cannot continue to promote the Wahhaabi brand of Islam and they must remove it from their textbooks" and similar statements.

This is the result of the soofees and in particular Stephen Schwartz, the soofee self described "expert" on middle east affairs.  He and his mentor Kabbani have tried to use 9/11 to turn the world against the Da'wah.

Here is a critical analysis of some of Schwartz's attacks, yet it is not mentioned that he himself is a soofee.  When the Salafi teachings, which only call the muslims to return to the original Islam as practiced and understood by the first generations of Muslims, spread in Arabia, the heretical soofee ideologies were largely dropped, which dealt a severe blow to their sect.  Thus the Soofees began to lable the salafis with this title "wahhaabi", after the scholar and reformer Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhaab.  Yet, he did not introduce a new understanding of Islam.  Rather, he called the muslims to return to the original correct understanding of Islam.

By knowing that Stephen Schwartz is a soofee we can understand his motive for attacking Salafism (the salafi da'wah), which has destroyed the soofee deviance all over the world.
