I would greatly appreciate if someone could post or link the fatwas that allow use of videos etc and especially the use of web cams to keep in touch with members of family, who are residing abroad. I recall reading a fatawa by shaykh uthaymeen[rahimahullah] saying that taking images by cameras is permissible as long as not used for haraam purposes, because that act is not classed as image making rather its a transportation of the image? But i also recall hearing that shaykh ahmad an-najmee[rahimahullah] said that taking photos by way of a camera is haraam, can someone plz clarify for me especially regarding the use of a webcam, barakAllahu feek.
