bismillah ir rahman ir rahmeem

Wondering if anyone is aware of the daleel for the permissablity or impermissablity of buying presents on for children for eid day inshaAllah baring in mind that a number of parents particularly in the west buy thier children eid presents to compensate the fact that they have missed out on christmas (and tell thier children this) and also go to great deals in buying expensive gifts which may even land the parents in debt.  Also is it permissable to accept christmas presents from the kuffar for children, but give them to children telling them it is an eid present?
