The Prophet (sallahualalayhi wassalam) said as reported by Muslim: "When the ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) begin and one of you intends to sacrifice (on eid), he should not at all take anything from his hair, his skin or his nails"
Shaykh Uthaymeen mentions in "sharhul mumti'" (v.7 p. 486 -new print) that this command neccesitates prohibition (tahreem).
So it is upon those who are not performing Hajj and intend to sacrifice on eid to prepare themselves from NOW, by trimming their nails etc. as there are only a few hours left, assuming that dhul hijjah starts tommorrow (thurs. 22nd jan. '04)
