As Salamu Alaykum, I am new to the forum and had a question on the authenticity of a particular Hadith. It is written in various books that this is Mursal Hadith and I am familiar with some of the conditions that the various scholars have put on the acceptance of a Mursal Hadith; my question would be then, is this an acceptable Hadith and are the narrators reliable? I do not have access to the full Isnad, but this is what I collected. Any help in this matter is appreciated. "No one has left behind with their family anything better than two raka'ats offered at home when wanting to travel." - Reported by Al-Mutam ibn Al-Miqdam in At-Tabarani; Ibn Asakir reported it as a Mursal Hadith As Salamu Alaykum!

wa alaykum asalaam, actually this hadeeth is weak, as mentioned in Silsilat ul- Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah #372, and Dha'eef aj-Jaami' #5059, and there are some other places as well where Shaykh al Albaani mentioned that this chain of narration is weak.

As Salamu Alaykum Umm Musa, JazakyAllah Khair for your response and help in this matter. Is it possible to post the excerpts from both of the books (#372 and #5059)? Or perhaps is there an online English-Arabic edition of both Silsilat ul-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah and Dha'eef aj-Jaami? wa alaykum asalam, these referrences were for the hadeeth you mentioned - so the in these two sources, the hadeeth is listed as hadeeth #372 and hadeeth #5059 respectively. you can refer to the sources and check what the shaykh mentioned specifically about the chains of narration, they are accessible through his website - www.alalbany.net i am not aware of any english translation of the sources. barakALlahu feekum
