Asalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh, If one has the first two categories of Tawheed down, but deviates from the correct belief in the 3rd category of Tawheed. For example, let's say one interprets Allah's Hands to mean His Power. Does this take a person out of the fold of Islam?

wa 'alaykumus-salaamu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh It depends on the type of deviation in that 3rd category. The scholars do not declare the Ashaa'irah outside of Islaam, while they deviate in this category, as mentioned in your example. Refer to the section called The Ruling on the People of Ta'weel in the English translation of the book Exemplary Foundations (pp.159-166) by al-'Allaamah Ibn 'Uthaymeen (may Allaah have Mercy on him). Even if such deviation might not take a person out of the fold of Islam, it takes a person outside the fold of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaah.
