  About "al-Lu'lu' wal-Marjaan feemat-tafaqa 'alayhe ash-shaykhaan" by Muhammad Fu'aad 'Abdul-Baaqee:

quote:
I thought that it was a compilation of agreed upon ahadith, by Bukhari and Muslim.  However, when I was looking at it (I recently purchased it), I only noted ahadith from Bukhari.

The intention of the author was to list the narrations that are found in both Saheeh al-Bukhaaree and Saheeh Muslim, as indicated in the title itself, and as you originally understood.

The author organized the narrations in the book according to the order they are found in Saheeh Muslim, and then he mentioned the place of each one as found in Saheeh al-Bukhaaree.  This is the reason why there are no references to Saheeh Muslim.  So it is like a "summarized Saheeh Muslim", including only the narrations that are also in Saheeh al-Bukhaaree.

So if you wanted to find the hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim, you look to the corresponding chapter and section in Saheeh Muslim and the hadeeth should be there, and Allaah knows best...
