Assalaamualaikum, A non-muslim co-worker of mine said that he heard that a Muslim can be executed if he converts to another religion. I told him that this is correct since I remembered the hadith: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ?It is not permissible to shed the blood of a Muslim who bears witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that I am His Messenger, except in one of three cases: a soul for a soul (i.e., in the case of murder); a married man who commits adultery; and one who leaves his religion and splits form the jamaa?ah (main group of Muslims).? (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6878; Muslim, 1676) I didn't know any more details I could give him regarding this so could someone please give me a little more insight into this topic as to the conditions and the rulings once clear apostasy has been confirmed on an individual.
