  Asallamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah:

Can someone please give me a brief synopsis of the naseehah that took place from Sheikh Mohammad Shaakir to Sayyid Qutb, advising him about his mistakes, and also the negative response that came from the innovator Sayyid Qutb.

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله

He wrote several publicly-printed articles refuting Sayyid Qutb, about five. Here is one of them:

And look here as well:

http://www.sahab.net/sahab/showthread.php?s=&threadid=244168

It is titled "Do Not Revile My Companions" as taken from the hadeeth reported by Bukhaaree in which the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) made this statement. Yet, Sayyid Qutb, having no taqwa, wara', or understanding of the 'aqeedah and manhaj of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah, did not hesitate to unleash a stream of venom upon the best of all people, as they were labeled by the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) in another hadeeth agreed upon by the Three.

And this is the reality of this man - he had a wicked agenda and stopped at nothing to accomplish it, whether it be reviling the companions, speaking about affairs in which he had no knowledge, or making takfeer of societies and nations. And even more wicked and evil are those who, likewise having agendas and pre-defined goals, defend this heretic and raise him to the status of an "Imaam of Guidance" and the refuge is with Allaah Jal wa 'Alaa. These refutations also prove that Qutb was warned and refuted in his lifetime by a very-well known 'Aalim of Egypt who dwarfed Qutb in both the Linguistic Sciences and the Shar?ee Sciences. Thus, the now stale excuse that Qutb was not warned or that he intended good are rendered fruitless. And even if they were valid excuses, they would not lift the obligation of warning from his mistakes and explaining his status to the people, lest they fall into error an deviate from the manhaj of the Salaf. And Allaah 'Azz wa Jal knows best.
