Topic: The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said to Faatimah: "What a good Salaf I am for you."

  From Imaam Muslim's Saheeh, on the authority of Faatimah, may Allaah be pleased with her, she said that the Messenger of Allaah informed her that JIbreel used to review the Qur'aan with him once yearly, and:

وَإِنَّهُ قَدْ عَارَضَنِي بِهِ الْعَامَ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَا أَرَى الْأَجَلَ إِلَّا قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ فَاتَّقِي اللَّهَ وَاصْبِرِي فَإِنِّي نِعْمَ السَّلَفُ أَنَا لَكِ

"...and verily he has reviewed it with me twice this year, so I only see that my time is drawing near, so then fear Allaah and be patient, for surely what a good salaf I am for you."



He collected it in his Chapter of the Virtues of Faatimah, hadeeth #6263 (8/225 of Sharh An-Nawawee, Daar Al-Ma'rifah printing, tahqeeq of Khaleel Ma'moon Sheehaa).

Referring to which print/numbering scheme? Also, please recommend a good print of al-Minhaaj, mine is very poorly done. Jazaak Allaahu Khayran.

  The translation should also read, "...so have taqwa of Allaah and be patient..."
