  Asalamualikumwa rahmathuallhi wabarakthuhu

The below hadeeth about Julaybeeb Radiyallahu anhu can be found in Saheeh Muslim's Book of Virtues of Companions

quote:

CHAPTER: THE MERITS OF JULAIBIB (ALLAAH BE PLEASED WITH HIM)

No. 6045

Abu Barza reported that Allaah's Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) was there in a battlefield that Allaah conferred upon him the spoils of war. He said to his Companions: Is anyone missing amongst you? They said: So and so and so. He again said: Is there anyone missing amongst you? They said: So and so and so. He then said: Is there anyone missing amongst you? They said: No. Thereupon he (the Prophet) said: But I am missing Julaibib. They (his Companions) searched him amongst those who had been killed and they found him by the side of seven (dead bodies) whom he had killed and he had been killed (by the oppoments). Allaah's Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) came there and stood (by his side) and said: He killed seven (persons). Then (his opponents) killed him. He is mine and I am his. He then placed him upon his hands and there was none else to lift but Allaah's Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam). Then the grave was dug for him and he was placed in the grave and no mention is made of a bath.

Assalam o Alikum wa rahmatul lahi wa barakatuh

Ikhwaani Al Affadhil Baarak Allahu feekum

Jazakum Allahu khairan

what about the marriage of julaybeeb radyAllahu anhu?

I have heared two different narrations about it, indeed his marriage was arranged by the Prophet sala lahu alihi wa sallam, but are those narrations saheeh?

Had the prophet sala lahu alihi wa sallam sent him to an ansaris house to ask the hand of their daughter or did He sala lahu alihi wa sallam go himself to the paents of that girl to ask their daughter for julaybeeb and are those narrations saheeh?

Hayyakum Allah

wasalamm o alikum

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillah wa salatu wa salaamu 'ala rasulullaah
Amma ba'd

As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa baarakatu, my brothers,

For some reason, your profile could not be accessed, the Private Messaging is down, and I don't know your emails, so I could not inform you of this in private. Allaahul Musta'aan!

However, the following is an important reminder:

quote:
The Salaams are Before the Question

On the authority of Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu 'anhumma), the Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:

quote:
The salaams are before the question, so if someone begins talking to you asking a question before giving salaams, then do not answer him.

- Collected by Ibn an-Najjaar. As-Suyootee listed it is al-Jaami' as-Sagheer. Al-Albaanee said "hasan" in Saheeh al-Jaami' (#3699)

al-Munaawee (d.1031) said in explanation of the hadeeth "as-Salaam qablul-Kalaam" (the hadeeth before it in al-Jaami as-Sagheer):

quote:
"...due to the great benefits found in the salaams that have been mentioned, it is incumbent that it is the first thing a person hears, and the first thing someone being addressed verbally or in writing comes across. It will reach a person's soul and settle into it in a great way, thus being the most effective way of conveying one's intended message with his verbal or written address. Thus, it has been legislated for the when people come together, when they write to each other, and other related times, like when they part from each other..."

- Faydh al-Qadeer (4/150)

And Allaah knows best.

Subhanak Allaahuma wa bihamdika ash-hadu anlaa illaaha illa anta astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
