Sheikh Abdulmuhsin al-Abbad yesterday completed teaching Sunan Bin Majah after 3 years mashaallaah with the last chapter being on paradise. The supplicated much at the end of the dars and then mentioned some benefits of the book. From them is that Sunan bin Majah has zawaaid ahadeeth that are not found in the other 5 books of hadeeth totalling up to 1500. This is why some of the scholars preferred it to be the 6th book of hadeeth ahead of Muwaata of Imam Maalik rahimahullaah. There are just over 4300 hadeeth in Sunnan Bin Majah. The book starts with the introduction which is on sticking to the Sunnah of the Messenger sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam in the understanding of the Companions. The sheikh was teaching this book 6 days a week mashaallaah and hardly cancelled a lesson. Even in the past two days his health was not good as he sounded like he had a sore throat but he continued mashaallaah.

The sheikh said that he started the six books in the year 1406 and it has taken 26 years to complete all six books of hadeeth mashaallaah.

He started with Saheeh Muslim first then Saheeh al-Bukhaari because he said that Saheeh Muslim has all the ahadeeth related to each other categorised in one chapter whereas Saheeh al-Bukhaari has one hadeeth in different areas in the book due to the different benefits of the hadeeth so one would have to keep repeating the benefits if teaching Saheeh al-Bukhaari.

Sheikh Muhammaad Bin Haadi commented after his dars Ma'aarij al-Qubool of Hafidh al-Hakami yesterday and said that this is Tawfeeq from Allaah that Allaah blessed him to be able to complete the 6 books of hadeeth. Likewise, he mentioned that knowledge is like honey once you taste its sweetness it is difficult not to seek more.

Recently, in Makkah we heard also sheikh Rabee' bin Haadi al-Madkhali completed Saheeh Muslim in his house and Baa'th al-Hatheeth  and started teaching Asl Sunnah of the two Imams Abu Haatim al-Raazi and Abu Zur'ah al-Raazi and also Ma'aarij al-Qubool of Hafidh al-Hakami.

May Allaah protect the scholars and make us benefit from them using our time with that which benefits, Ameen.

Abdullillaah, can you please let the people know where they may obtain the recordings containing these explanations from al-Muhaddith, Shaykh Abdul Muhsin?

And by the way, has the explanation of Saheeh al-Bukhaaree by the Imaam Ash-Shaafi'ee [as I heard Shaykh Muhammad al-Bannaa say about him] of our time; Shaykh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-Uthaymeen appeared in the Kingdom yet?  That is, other than the Egyptian printing of it in 10 volumes.

May Allaah have mercy on all of them!
