Topic: Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah: If your imaam makes qunoot, then make qunoot; if not, then don't.

quote:

Thus it is befitting that the follower (in prayer) follow his imaam in issues that ijtihaad is acceptable in.  So if he (the imaam) makes qunoot, then he (the follower) makes qunoot with him; and if he (the imaam) does not make qunoot, then he (the follower) does not make qunoot.  For verily the Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam said: "Verily the imaam has only been appointed to be followed."  And he said, "Do not differ from your imaams."  And it is established in the Saheeh that he said, "They pray in front of you (or: in your favor), so if they do it correctly, then it (the reward) is for you and them; and if they are mistaken then it is in your favor and against them."
