Bismillah walhamdu lilah was salatu wa salam 'ala Rasulilah wa ba'd:

Assalamu 3alaikum wa rahmat Allahi wa barakatu

I have a question concerning Eid.

From the Authenticated ahadeeth, ((Fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you, then complete thirty days of Sha'baan. And break your fast when you see the crescent. If it is obscured to you then fast thirty days)),  we know that even if the crescent moon is unable to be seen we continue fasting.  In my community they started fasting with Egypt and Yemen even though we don't agree with how they came to this conclusion (they took a vote by a show of hands who wanted to fast when) and we wanted to fast with Saudia. We started fasting with them (the people in our community *There is about 6 of us salafi's and the rest are from Ahlul Bida'a* from the advice of an article that we read from Troid saying that we should fast with the people in our community to fast when they fast and break fast when they break fast.

My question is, what if they do not see the moon after 30 days of fast?  Do we go along with the celebration even though the people in our community (United States) or the people in Yemen or Egypt did not see the moon? Saudia and the rest of the world that started Ramadhan a day later than us would be celebrating Eid on Tuesday or Wednesday instead of Monday or Tuesday (since we are fasting on Monday we would be celebrating on tuesday insha'Allah).  The salafi's in my community felt that we should not have started fasting unless the moon was sighted in the United States or even Saudia (the majority).  Do we still go along with celebrating eid after 30 days of Fasting even though the moon may not have been seen on the following night?

Barakallahu feekoum

Assalamu 3alaikum
