As salaamu alaikum wa rahmahtullah. Na'am akhi, it is a question of a situation that some of us have encountered and some of us may encounter in the future, wa Allaahu Alam. A question that needs some clarification on, InShaAllaah. The other day, I heard the judge of the court give someone the oath that they give and it went something like this: Do you solemnly affirm or promise to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? It used to conclude with "so help you God". But that part have been omitted. So now a question pops into play and that is; So who or what is the oath directed to when in these court systems of the kuffar? Allaahu Alam. Can anyone elaborate on this? Barak Allaahu Feekum. Salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah; You may add to that question, this one: A Muslim sister gets married after her iddat from the father of her children, and thus she gives the father their children due to the divorce and his right to have his children after she re-marrying to another Muslim, what rights of visitation does she have in reference to having her children for a weekend or whatever? If he refuses her visitation rights livng in a non-Muslim country and she takes it to a local Imam and the bother still refuses to cooperate, what recourse does she now have?
