Assalamu 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu A brother asked me to forward the following questions. 1."I'm a biotech student--which involves manipulating bacteria to produce medicines and things like insulin. It involves altering the DNA and their basic structures. Is this haraam?" 2. "And I heard that we must boycott all materials, boosk and whatnot, that contain blasphemy? Where's the line? Blasphemy against our own religion? Against things we may have in common with theirs (Christianity and Eesa alaihi ssalam)? And are there other finer lines?" Can one of the brothers please put these questions to one of the Scholars
