Al-Hamdulillah wa salatu was-salamu 'ala Rasulullah amma b'ad; salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah; I'm looking for evidence of, or the origin for, the permissability of the two different methods of performing wudoo: #1. the rinsing of the mouth & nose from one handful of water #2. the rinsing of mouth & nose, one after the other, separate handfuls I've seen the Hadith on #1 but I've found on salafipublication.com, article ID IBD020001, Ritual Purification Al-Iqna of Ibn Mundhir [rahimahullah], Chapter 8, {translated to read} "If you wish you can [rinse and snuff one after the other] with one hand full of water or you can use a separate handful for each." There was no evidence presented for #2. Can anyone help? Abu Na'imah Shamsuddin Abdul-Hakim ibn Harold Simmons, Aiken, SC, USA

Salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah; Al-Hamdulillah, it has been farther documented that Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen [rahimahullah] stated in a work done by him, Sharh Muntah [might be the wrong spelling of the book] that it would be better to use the one hand for the mouth and nose but that separate scoops for mouth and nose are acceptable. I received that information from Brother Idrees, Imam here in Rochester NY at Masjid-As-Sunnah. and Allah knows best.
