  Bismillaah wassalaatu wassalaam 'ala Rasulullaah,

Assalaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu,

I recently came across a Hadeeth that Rasulullaah (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) has told that Keeping Pigeons as pets is a vain pastime.

Please can anyone post the exact wordings of the hadeeth & its authenticity and its interpretation & ruling from the 'ulamaa of Hadeeth.
