Topic: Does Allah's Istiwa mean Istiqrar ala'l Arsh?

  Assalamu alaikum,

I would like some knowledegeable readers to provide any good quotes from our Imaam's like Shaykh al Islaam Ibn Taymiyya or his students, or contemporay Mashaykh on the question:

"Does Allah's Istiwa above the Throne mean Istiqrar ala'l Arsh or not?"

  From Fiqhul 'Ibaadaat - Aqeedah Section - Sh. Ibn Uthaymeen - p43:

"The meaning in the Arabic language entailed by the wording 'Istawaa 'Alaa
such and such' is 'Ascending and settling above [al-'Uluw wal Istiqraar]'.
verily, this meaning is in full agreement with the wording..."
