Is your question about a traveller? أبو سلمان النمري طلحة بن وليم والعصر ان الانسان لفي خسر الا الذين آمنواو عملوا الصالحات و تواصوا بالحق و تواصوا بالصبر

both the traveller and the resident. On one or two occasions I have had to combine my Maghrib with isha, I joined the Isha jamaah' with the intention of Praying Maghrib and at the end of the third rakah when the Congregation stood up for the fourth I stayed down and completed the Maghrib Prayer and then stood up and joined the congregation again while they were in the fourth rakah and Prayed my Isha, but now I have been adviced that when Praying a different Prayer to the Congregation only the intention can be different, the outward actions of the Prayer has to be same as the Imaams.
