  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

What would be some good books for a beginner studying Usul al Fiqh?
They can either be in English, or in non-complex Arabic (preferably by the contemporary scholars)

  Bismillah,

Here are two, simple, Arabic Usool al-Fiqh books:

1. al-Imaam S'adee's [d. 1376 AH] brief treatise on Usool al-Fiqh (Risaalah Lateefah Jaame'ah fee
Usool al-Fiqh al-Muhammah) (1)

2. al-Imaam al-'Uthaymeen's [d. 1421 AH] al-Usool min 'Ilm al-Usool (2)

These two books should be available everywhere.

(1) - I believe SPUBS translated a portion or all of this book.

(2) - Sh. 'Uthaymeen's foundation has just printed his explanation of this book recently.

  Bismillah,

Sh. al-'Uthaymeen [d. 1421 AH], said: "Usool al-Fiqh is of the utmost importance.  It is a noble,
lofty knowledge, and its benefits are great. It gives a person the ability to draw sound [conclusions]
and rulings from Islaamic texts." (1)

With regards to the SPUBS article on Usul al Fiqh, the article code is FQH010001

It is very beneficial, insha allah, to English speakers who don't have Arabic usul al fiqh books.

  As-Salaamu 'Alaykum,

Bismillah,

For those who know or are studying 'Arabic, I came across a study and checking (diraasah wa tahqeeq) of Miftaah al-Wusool ilaa Binaa al-Furoo' alaa al-Usool (1) done by Muhammad b.'Ali Ferkous, a Jazaairee, Salafee Scholar. Perhaps someone can post his recommedations on this thread.

The book Miftaah al-Wusool ilaa Binaa al-Furoo' alaa al-Usool is a unique book in Usool al-Fiqh wherein the author gives you a principle, then he shows you how different scholars viewed the principle as well as how they apply it to specific texts from the Quraan and Sunnah in order to extract rulings.

It's a book that gives you much practical application of the principles you learn while studying Usul al-Fiqh. The book is published by al-Maktabah al-Makkiyyah.

  As-Salaamu 'Alaykum,

Bismillah,

Does anyone have any information on what books al-allaamah Naasir al-Deen al-Albaanee [d. 1420 AH] recommended in Usool al-Fiqh? I was listening to a lecture of his on "The Rulings of 'Umrah." In it, he mentioned several usool al-fiqh benefits. That caused me to wonder about his thoughts on books written on this science. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
