The question:

Is there any mention of the believers "seeing Allaah" in Soorah al-Insaan (mentioned explicitly)?

I mean rather: There is.  So then the question would be: Who knows the aayah?

May Allaah bless the one who answers correctly and all those who read and benefit!

Assalaamu alaikum

Is it the following ayah:

"And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion." (Al-Insan 76:20)??

As the greatest delight of the mu'min is to see the Face of Allaah.  And it cannot be imagined as there is nothing comparable to Allaah - as comes in Surah Ikhlaas:

"And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." (Al-Ikhlas 112:4)

Wassalaamu alaikum.

Umm Mariam.

wa 'alaykumus-salaamu wa rahmatullaah

May Allaah multiply your good reward.

Some of the scholars of tafseer have mentioned that "it has been said" (qeel) that the na'eem (delight) referred to in this aayah is to look at Allaah, however I have not found this attributed to any of the early scholars by name.  The mention of "delight" (na'eem) in the aayah is mentioned in a general sense, and this is how the early scholars seem to have left it.

However, this "na'eem" (delight) is not what I was referring to, rather there is an explicit mention of "seeing Allaah" in this soorah...  And I ask Allaah to bless the one who mentions it!

Asalaamu 'alaykum. Could it be ayat 11? Whereby Allaah mentions that He saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them "Nadrah" (a light of beauty)?

Is it:

[076:009] (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allâh's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.

Wassalaamu alaikum.

Bismillahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem

As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu!

Perhaps what is intended here is the Ayah

"9 إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَانُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاء وَلَا شُكُورًا

(Saying): "We feed you seeking Allâh's Countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you. (Al-Insan 76:9)
[Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]

This ayah seems to refer to seeing Allaah and Allaah knows best. This ayah is replete with Tawheed and what is the fruit of Tawheed other than Jannah with all its amenities. And Allaah says:

"لَهُم مَّا يَشَاؤُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ

There they will have all that they desire, and We have more (for them, i.e. a glance at the All-Mighty, All-Majestic). (Qaf 50:35)
[Ibn Katheer | Tabari | Qurtubi]

May Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aalaa give us Jannah and the Mazeed! Allaahumma Ameen!

wa 'alaykumus-salaamu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh . . .

May Allaah give you all nadhrah (light upon your faces) and suroor (happiness in your hearts) on the Day of Judgement!

Indeed this is a beautiful soorah that requires a lot of contemplation, may Allaah make us from those who accomplish that and benefit from it.

As for the nadhrah, then what is above is the understanding of that, and Allaah knows best.

As for the believers and their actions described in the soorah, that they feed people seeking Allaah's Face, then this is describing their praiseworthy motive, and not an explicit mention of seeing Allaah in Jannah.  As for the conclusion:  That they sought Allaah's Face, so they will be rewarded and given what they sought - a glance at the Face of Allaah in Jannah (among other things), then it seems valid, and Allaah knows best.

However, there remains in this soorah an explicit mention of "seeing Allaah" that has not been identified yet...

If you are saying: "I have read this soorah and its tafseer many, many times now, and if its not one of the things mentioned in this thread, then I don't know WHAT it could be..."

Then I would offer you a little hint.

Perhaps you are limiting yourself to only one qiraa'ah (mode of recitation)...?

May Allaah magnify your reward and grant you success!

I apologize for the delay...

The answer is verse #20:

( وإذا رأيتَ ثمَّ رأيتَ نعيماً ومُلْكاً كبيراً )
which means: "And when you look there, you will see a delight and great dominion"

It has been reported that Aboo Ma'bad 'Abdullaah Ibn Katheer al-Makkee[d.120] and others recited it like this:

( وإذا رأيت ثمَّ رأيت نعيماً ومَلِكاً كبيراً )
which means: "And when you look there, you will see a delight and a great King" (referring to Allaah)

...and Allaah knows best.

As-Salaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuhu. What riwayah is this? I checked Qaloon and Warsh and Soosee amongst the others and was unable to find it. Baraka Allaahu Feek.
