As salaaam alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Insha'allah I need the help of a Shaykh or student of knowledge masha'allah.  Is using the word "time" a statement of "shirk" and "kuffar".  And by using the word "time" does it negate Allaah subhaana wa ta'alaa.??? For example, in a contract if it states "At no time there is to be any playing around" another example,.. "time is of an essence so please do not be late". Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Baraakallah feek

Narrated Ibn Jarir At-Tabari: Ibn 'Abbas (radiallaah anhu) said, "When a believer dies, the place of earth on which he use to prostrate himself in his Salat, and the gate in the heaven through which his good deeds used to ascend, weep for him, while they do not weep for the disbeliever." (Tasfir At-Tabari)

If you look in Kitaabu Tawheed, chapter 44 in the Arabic and 45 in the English, you will find the chapter 'Whoever curses time has offended Allaah'.

The intent of the chapter is the prohibition of cursing time as Allaah is the one who created time and controls it.
Cursing time is divided into three parts
1. to intend purely just informing about something like if you was to say, 'it was a very hot day today' which is not cursing time as Allaah informs us that prophet Lut said in surah Hud 'this is a stressful day'
2. To curse time and believe that it changes affairs and conditions. This is shirkul Akbar (greater shirk) because he has made time another Creator.
3. To curse time not believing that it changes the affairs and conditions but dislikes times. This is haram and shirkul ashgar and shirkul al'faadh (minor shirk and shirk of statements).

If what you're saying falls into any then it would be the 1st and Allaah knows best.
Refer back to kitaabu tawheed with the explanations of shaikh Uthaymeen, shaikh Fawzaan, shaikh ibn baz and shaikh abdur Rahmaan aali shaikh May Allaah have mercy on them all.
