As-Salaamu AlaiKum,

Just some general news.

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salaatu wa salamu 'ala rasulullaah

Amma ba'd

One in every 4 People is a Muslim, so why are we struggling?

New research estimates that up to 1.57 Billion Muslims populate the world (at any one time), and Allaah knows best regarding the exact figures. The report took three years to compile, with census data from 232 countries and territories. Researchers analyzed approximately 1,500 sources, including census reports, demographic studies and general population surveys.

Senior researcher Brian Grim told CNN that the overall figure was a surprise and said, "Overall, the number is higher than I expected."

So why are we Muslims struggling?

In light of the above study, maa shaa` Allaah, it's important to remind ourselves that victory comes from Allaah - not numbers - and having Eeman in Him is a means of that victory. [Proof of this from the Qur`an, Sunnah and Seerah are aplenty, Al-Hamdulillaah.]

Allaah says (what means) in ayah 123 of surah Aali 'Imran:

And Allaah has already made you victorious at Badr, when you were a weak little force.

...But those who knew with certainty that they were to meet their Lord, said: "How often a small group overcame a mighty host by Allaah's Leave?" And Allaah is with As-Saabirin (the patient ones, etc.). (Al-Baqarah, ayah 249)

Other proofs, explanations and relevant material:

[url=http://www.sunnahpublishing.net/modules/Hadeeth/nations.pdf]Concerning the Hadeeth, "The nations are about to set upon you..."[/url]

So, the reason - may Allaah have mercy upon you - why we are struggling is because Muslims today are not abiding by the 'aqidah that Allaah sent down to the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam), and commanded us to uphold in accordance with the following verses.

Allaah, The Most High, said (what means):

The Messenger (Muhammad, salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, "We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers" - and they say, "We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all)." (Al-Baqarah, ayah 285)

quote:
Why did Allaah say The Messenger believes? Because it is to emphasize the way he believed; [the command is] not only to believe, but how to believe. And (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. Look at the end: and they say, "We hear, and we obey.

Meaning we should believe as the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) and his companions believed, and we should submit to and obey Allaah's command to believe as they believed.

Allaah, The Most High, said (what means):

"So if they believe in the like of that which you believe, then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allaah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." (Al-Baqarah, ayah 137)

Sadly, many Muslims today are only in opposition, adopting an 'aqidah (creed, set of beliefs) other than that of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). So you see many Muslims today opposing the Prophet's 'aqidah, instead choosing the 'aqidah of the Soofis (which includes exaggeration with the Prophet and the "righteous," giving them the right that only Allaah deserves, and imitation of the Christians, and holding shirk-laden beliefs such as "Wahdatul Wujood" and "hulool," and many other innovations such as the celebration of the birthday of the Prophet), or the 'aqidah of the Raafidah ["Shee'ah"] (which likewise includes exaggeration with 'Alee, Hassan, Hussein, Nafisah, and their "imams," and denial of Muhammad's Prophethood, and the cursing of some of the companions), or the 'aqidah of the deceiving and revolutionary Khawarij and Ikhwanul Muslimeen (which includes making takfeer of Muslim rulers and other Muslims, and the rounding up of anyone who will listen - regardless of creed - to commit acts of terrorism, and rebel against the rulers for the purpose of achieving their insincere objective of power, rulership), or the 'aqidah of the Jahmiyah, Ash'aria, and Mu'tazila (which includes denial of the attributes of Allaah), etc...

This is the deficiency in Eeman of the Muslims today!

In refutation of the many Muslims who do not take learning 'aqidah seriously and the many Arabs who use as the excuse that they know the correct 'aqidah because they "speak Arabic," Shaikh al-Albanee (rahimahullaah) said:

quote:
"If we Arabs understood Islaam correctly, we would not use political movements to incite the people and distract them away from understanding Islaam in the areas of 'aqidah, acts of worship, and character! Therefore, I do not believe that there are groups of people that number millions who understand Islam correctly. I mean that they were reared upon the correct 'aqidah, worship and character."
["Tawheed First, O' Callers to Islam;" Chapter Five]

My dear brothers and sisters, have we forgotten that Paradise and safety from the hellfire is our objective? How can we be entered into eternal, blissful Paradise [wherein is what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and has never come across the heart of mankind] and be granted safety from the never-ending torment of the hellfire if we don't abide by Allaah's commands regarding this objective? It's not rational.

All of Allaah's Messengers called firstly to the correction of the 'aqidah because all acts of worship and behavior depend on it; without the correct 'aqidah, there is no benefit from (these) deeds. Allaah, The Most High, said:

"But if they had joined in worship others with Allaah, all that they used to do would have been of no benefit to them." (Al-An'aam, ayah 88)

So their deeds become invalid.

And Allaah ('Azza wa Jall) said:

"Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Dhaalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers) there are no helpers." (Al-Maa`idah, ayah 72)

And the Most High said:

"And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muhammad (salAllaahu 'alaihi wa sallam)), as it was to those (Allaah's Messengers) before you: 'If you join others in worship with Allaah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers.'" (Az-Zumar, ayah 65)

May Allaah guide us to what He sent down to Prophet Muhammad (salAllaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).

If I said anything correct, then it is from Allaah (subhanahu wa taa'ala), and if I erred, then that is from me and shaytan.
